If you've seen 13 Cameras (the original) and you didn't hate it, then you'll find this one tolerable as well. I actually enjoyed this film more than the original movie. There are definitely engaging moments that keep you on the edge of your seat, and Gerald is as disgusting as ever. This one focuses more on the stalker elements than the original did, which I liked. Overall, it's not the best horror movie out there, but it's certainly not the worst.

I don't think this movie deserves the low 1 and 2 scores it has been given. This movie has decent suspense and is a good follow on from the first one.
Its not going to be everyones cup of tea because its creepy in an uncomfortable sort or way. I enjoyed it. Sticks in my mind a bit given its about hidden cameras it's unnerving.

Not the worst movie ever, but put some effort in to your work. Why wouldn't those girls just spit the rags out. Anyway, that pretty much sums up this one. Everything happens for NO reason.

I cannot get over this dudes mouth hanging open the entire movie. If I could get past that- it may get three stars.

14 Cameras: 4 out of 10: In the direct sequel to 13 Cameras our creepy stalker guy kidnaps some women and spies on an average family on vacation. That's it really.
The Good: First of all this is not a found footage film. Thank God. It really would have been surprisingly easy to imagine this as such, so let us all be thankful that at least the filmmakers didn't do that.
In addition, my wife liked this film. She isn't asking for the 4k Ultra Bluray release for Christmas or anything but she genuinely enjoyed it to the point that she asked if we could watch the first one. She doesn't like horror movies as a rule. She does like true crime thrillers, however. And she is turning into one of those white suburban women who is convinced that there are swarthy men in vans looking to kidnap them from Sephora. I can see this as a film that feeds into various suburban paranoia about vacation rentals and Airbnb.
The Bad: I know this is a matter of taste to a point but lead bad guy Neville Archambault just doesn't do it for me. Don't get me wrong he is grade A creepy. But that is all he is. He isn't particularly frightening and he isn't entertaining. He is kind of dull.
Speaking of dull, our victims are dull as dishwater. I know that we are supposed to seeing a regular family (husband, wife, daughter, son, and daughter's female college friend) spend a week in a nice house in the middle of nowhere. But good lord these people are dull, their vacation is dull (they do nothing and go nowhere.), and the "drama" is dull. I am not saying they should be the Lannisters but who would watch these people on purpose?
There are also some kidnapped girls outside the family but their origin story is basically botched and I have no idea why they were kidnapped or who they are? They only seem to be there to reinforce the fears of the Suburbian housewife views. They are not there for any exploitation mind you.
In fact, god forbid if anyone is exploited in a voyeur and kidnap horror movie. The only nudity is a dull brief shower scene with the daughter while our murdering, kidnapping, voyeur bad guy never actually molests any of his women. To put this in perspective 14 Cameras has the same amount of nudity as the Molly Ringwald/ John Hughes comedy Sixteen Candles and actually less rape.
The Ugly: The dad in the movie was an easy lead as the worst actor/ written character of the bunch... well until the patrol officer showed up at the end to ham it up so awful it takes you right out of the film.
A lot of the movie consists of our bad guy doing the kind of filler that used to be in the Jackass movies between stunts (I dare you to use this toothbrush) with the rest of the cast more unwilling Fear Factor contestants than actual characters.
In conclusion: We have all had the experience where we were skeeved out by a less than clean hotel room. If you want to relive that in the dullest manner possible this is your film.

Creepy level 10+ Makes me never want to rent a vacation rental ever again! Mouth breather was off the charts psycho. I will watch 13 Cameras next, enjoyed this creepiest but kind of ashamed to admit it.

Acting is ok, movie kept me entertained. Not sure about all the bad reviews. Sure it's not a masterpiece by any means, but generally speaking when you pick a movie out like this you shouldn't be expecting supburb acting and plot. People just looking for reasons to complain.

How many times are we going to see the same scene of this creepy guy breathing way too hard while staring at his monitor?

Not really a terrible movie. It's definitely not going down in the annals of film history as a stellar horror movie or a classic film but it's not a bad time. I enjoyed 13 Cameras (its predecessor) as much as this movie and have both the same rating.
The acting is fine, the Slumlord is creepy and unsettling just like in the original. It does make you wonder what all Airbnb type owners may be doing that their clients are unaware of. There's some gore but the majority of this movie leaves the graphic nature of the acts to the viewers imagination.

I gave it a 2 because it wasn't so bad that I turned it off. The landlord is a sweaty, ugly, lumpy, mouth breathing weirdo that was so over the top it removed any scare factor. He was a cartoon. Having him look more 'normal' would make this more believable and creepy, instead I was just focused on how ridiculous he looked. And why didn't anyone just try pushing him over? He could barely walk. Awful.

I was a big fan of the original '13 Cameras'. It was a sleeper hit that I didn't really see coming. I thought they might have been pushing it a little by throwing in a sequel, but to my pleasant surprise it was another really high quality edition to the series. The villain was menacing, the victims were interesting (enough) characters and there were some scenes featuring excellent tension.
There are three story-arcs being followed in the film. At first I thought they might have been being too ambitious but it turns out it actually was a really good notion. It meant that no one story felt too stretched and it kept everything feeling fresh and exciting for the duration of the film. Films that try to do too much can sometimes become confusing and lose focus. '14 Cameras' though keeps every thing very coherent by defining characters and locations very well. Needless to say I was very impressed by this film, and while I don't think it's quite as good as the original it is certainly still worth watching.

100.00% spoiler-free.
I watched this sequel immediately after watching the prequel 13 Cameras. I knew this sequel had bad ratings but I know that sometimes the critics and other people get it wrong so I did not hesitate to watch it. As usual, I dived in without watching even a trailer or reading anything at all.
On to the review:
I appreciated the fact that the plot was a direct sequel to the first movie.
I think what makes this film particularly strong in my opinion is that it is very realistic. Everything that happens in this sequel and its prequel could happen in real life. Try putting yourself in the shoes of the characters.
The prequel 13 Cameras introduced this sequel's main premise. Such premise is once again followed in 14 Cameras, so at first it felt more of the same and I fast-forwarded some of it. However, once again the twists made the film good, just like with the prequel.
There were at least four great twists in this film that made the film good and made me appreciate the film enough to give it 8 stars. There was one particular twist that I thought was great, but the writers of the plot missed out on elaborating on that twist. When such a twist was revealed, it suddenly made the already disturbing movie, far more disturbing, frightening, and sinister. If only they had taken that particular twist to the next level, it would have made this movie truly disturbing. Maybe there will be a part 3, and if there is I hope they deviate from repeating more of the same and instead explore that disturbing twist I am talking about.
The ending was again unexpected, and yet I laughed at the fact that I failed to expect it.
The antagonist's acting was the same, but I was already used to it so it felt less strong this time. Maybe there were not enough close-ups to his face since his acting with this face is what is strongest about this antagonist's role.
The supporting cast was once again weak and forgettable, but were good enough to make the film watchable.
This film had the same formula as the first with nice twists to keep it interesting and entertaining. The start was slow and boring, but once the movie got going, I could not get my eyes off my 65'' 4K TV which is 6 feet from my face.
Conclusion: forge the critics and the haters, you should give the prequel and this sequel a shot. Fast-forward if you need to, but you should stick around to see the plot twists. The realistic aspects of this film make it particularly frightening and disturbing. It is my opinion that this film and its sequel deserve a shot and I recommend them. This probably deserves a 7/10, but I bumped it up to 8/10 because I appreciated the very realistic twists (meaning they can happen in real life).

This film had so much potential for the first hour but after that it failed. Ending annoyed the hell out of me as you never got to find out what happened to the victims! The drama only started 10minutes before the film ended. Such a bad ending. I saw a lot of potential in it from the start though. Such a shame.
If you want to watch an hour and a half of a Quasimodo man breathing with his mouth wide open you'll love this movie
