Feeble French torture porn.

The post-millennial French extreme horror movement has given us some great films; Séquelles (AKA Consequence of Lust) isn't one of them. Lacking the style and substance of such movies as Martyrs and Inside, and the outrageous gore of films like Haute Tension and Frontier(s), this low budget effort from director Jean-Clément Gunter relies heavily on nookie and nudity to raise eyebrows (delivering full frontal from both sexes) but still manages to be deadly dull effort largely consisting of weak 'torture porn'.

The film opens with a spot of al fresco humping from couple Simon and Deborah, who are so into each other they fail to see someone sneaking up on them with a hanky soaked in chloroform. They awaken chained up in a remote house occupied by a group of psychopaths, Jeff, Carla, Dianne and Celian, who proceed to mentally and physically abuse their prisoners. Simon is then forced to call up his friends Jamela and Florian and invite them to the 'party' (which they do, but only after a quickie up against a tree). Another friend, Alex, also comes to the house and falls prey to the sickos.

The tiresome threatening behaviour and petty bickering between psychos eventually culminates in some graphic violence (a severed hand, a spot of gut munching, a saw in the head, and some fun with brain matter), but it is so poorly handled that it really isn't worth the wait. A naff twist ending does little to improve matters.
