Has any filmmaker ever blended the ghastly with the artistic quite like Quentin Tarantino? This Oscar-winning Hollywood elite, known for his varied take on filmmaking, harbors a well-documented adoration for the horror that seeps through his silver-screen masterpieces.
His works, peppered with bloodcurdling screams & heart-pounding suspense, pay homage to the genre he so dearly enjoys. A movie like Death Proof, starring Kurt Russell, is an adrenaline-fueled ride that nods to horror while gripping viewers with Tarantino’s signature dialogue. But it was actually surprising when he himself tipped his hat to Yeon Sang-ho’s Train to Busan.
Quentin Tarantino as McKenas Cole in Alias | ABC
Ma Dong-seok’s South Korean zombie thriller, which impressed the world with its visceral portrayal of survival and sacrifice, left even Tarantino admitting he was wrong to assume the zombie genre had no surprises left.

Exclusive: Endeavor is putting its money into non-scripted television. The company, which owns WME, Img and UFC, has made a strategic investment in Asylum Entertainment Group, the unscripted production company led by Steve Michaels, with plans to “supercharge” its footprint with a major M&a drive.
Deadline understands that through its investment, Endeavor planning to invest millions into the company in order to give it the financing and resources to buy up a number of non-scripted production companies and build it into a major non-fiction group.
We’ve heard that Michaels has already been scouting out potential acquisitions and is in talks for a nine-figure deal.
It becomes the latest major Hollywood player plotting to roll up non-scripted producers in order to give it size and scale; Sony has been on a drive since it acquired Industrial Media, the company behind American Idol and 90 Day Fiancé, in a $350M deal last...

You'd think Halloween would be the holiday that the lion's share of holiday-themed horror movies would center around. But that would have to be Christmas, which has inspired the likes of classics such as "Black Christmas," "Silent Night, Deadly Night," "Gremlins," "The Nightmare Before Christmas," the incredible "Tales From The Crypt" segment "And All Through The House," and so many more.
Maybe it's because Christmas is supposed to represent the pinnacle of goodness and charity that mucking it all up with blood, guts, and terror is just too perverse to resist. But of all the other holidays on the calendar, Thanksgiving gets my vote for the most untapped potential, horror-wise. Pilgrims? Unseasoned food? Family coming to my house? Wake me up when the nightmare is over.
While there has been a solid assortment of Thanksgiving-themed shockers over the years, from "Kristy" to "Séance" to the delightfully campy "Into The Dark" film "Pilgrim,...

It's not surprising that Eli Roth has transitioned somewhat into the role of TV host. Roth is a veritable encyclopedia of genre film and loves just talking movies. As far as movie geeks go, he's also a little more presentable and "TV ready" than the average horror fan. Roth has already hosted three seasons of "AMC Visionaries: Eli Roth's History of Horror" where the writer, producer and director interviews famous luminaries and storytellers from the vast world of horror. In what might be his most disturbing film, Roth also directed the Discovery+ documentary, "Fin," produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, that exposed the worldwide corruption of the shark fin industry where hundreds of thousands of sharks are murdered and maimed every year.

Quentin Tarantino reminisced on the terrors of his childhood during an appearance at PaleyFest NY 2020 to promote his role on the upcoming second season of Eli Roth’s AMC interview series “History of Horror” (via Yahoo). When asked what terrified him the most growing up, Tarantino said the real world proved far more horrifying than scripted films and television series. The first time Tarantino remembers being terrified is when he watched a local news station in Los Angeles after midnight and heard of the crimes of the city’s most notorious criminals.
“It was a police news watch where it would say, ‘These wanted criminals are loose in our city, have you seen them?'” Tarantino said. “They would show a mugshot of some criminal and describe his horrible crimes: ‘He’s out and about. If you see him do not try and apprehend him. Call your local authorities.’ I...

A terrifying new horror thriller is coming our way from the writers of A Quiet Place and producer Eli Roth. The Haunt trailer dropped and it's definitely a departure from the near-silent film Scott Beck and Bryan Woods did with John Krasinski. Here is the official synopsis.
On Halloween, a group of friends encounter an "extreme" haunted house that promises to feed on their darkest fears. The night turns deadly as they come to the horrifying realization that some monsters are real.
Written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, Haunt delivers on the "horrifying" in a way that only its producer Eli Roth (Hostel) can. The trailer introduces us to stars Katie Stevens (The Bold Type), Will Brittain (Clementine) and Lauryn Alisa McClain (Step Up: High Water) as they arrive at an elaborate haunted house. Through a lens of eerie yellows, blues and red lights we see the...
