The tributes are still pouring in for the man who redefined the mainstream, and gave us unforgettable cinema. Parvathy, his co-star, has fond memories of working with Irrfan. Speaking to Tnm, she says, "I met him for the first time on his birthday, the 7th of January. I was there for my first script reading and met the team.

MollywoodParvathy starrer ‘Uyare’ is about a woman pilot who survives an acid attack while Dulquer’s ‘Oru Yamandan Premakatha’ is a comedy entertainer. Digital NativeThe Parvathy starrer Uyare is gearing up for release on April 26th. So is Dulquer Salmaan’s Oru Yamandan Premakatha. Uyare is directed by Manu Ashok, who has worked as an associate of the late filmmaker Rajesh Pillai. The film, scripted by Sanjay and Bobby, is about a woman pilot and acid attack survivor, played by Parvathy. It is bankrolled by Shegna, Sherga and Shenuga, the daughters of producer Pv Gangadharan, under the banner Grihalakshmi Films. The music for Uyare is composed by Gopi Sunder, and the editing is by Mahesh Narayan who directed Parvathy’s much-appreciated film Take Off. Director Manu’s wife Shreya is the film’s costume designer. The first look poster of Uyare was earlier released, introducing Parvathy’s character as Pallavi.

Cinema Actor Nakuul Mehta and director Tanuja Chandra confirmed the news by posting pictures on their social media handles. The film titled Sunny Side Upar will see Rima acting along with Ishqbaaz sensation Nakuul Mehta and actor Rytasha Rathore. Tanuja Chandra, who directed Malayalam actor Parvathy's first Hindi film Qarib Qarib Singlle, is also associated with the project. This project is a romcom based on The Zoya Factor, a novel by Anuja Chauhan. Dulquer will be playing a cricketer in the film. The star, who is among the most popular actors of his generation in Kerala, has been steadily establishing himself in other industries too. In Tamil, he became an overnight heartthrob with Ok Kanmani. In Telugu, he has been winning acclaim for his portrayal of Gemini Ganesan in Mahanati. The film has Dulquer playing a complex role with negative shades and the actor has excelled himself, according to critics. Interestingly, Malayalam actor Parvathy also starred in her first Hindi film Qarib Qarib Singlle with Irrfan Khan.

November 10 saw the release of two reasonably priced films – Qarib Qarib Singlle and Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana. Till the fourth week, it was Qarib Qarib Singlle that was collecting more than Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana. But the tables were turned in the fifth week wherein Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana collected Rs. 64 lakhs while Qarib Qarib Singlle raked in a paltry Rs. 19 lakhs. The collections of Qarib Qarib Singlle and Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana by the end of fifth week are Rs. 17.04 crore and Rs. 10.59 crore respectively.

Look, there are lots of problems in Qarib Qarib Singlle. As there are in life. But that’s what makes life , and life in the movies, worth living.

Qarib Qarib Singlle(Qqs) is a delightful ‘romp’-com about two middleaged strangers, one a widow – the other a vagabond, travelling together to meet his ex-girlfriends. Don’t giggle. Nothing new here. But then if you want something new, please visit your nearest mall and buy yourself a fresh coat of paint for your living room. Movies make sense only when they bring us characters we know in ways that we never knew that we knew them.

And I can swear I have met Yogi and Jaya somewhere. The fact that they are played by Irrfan and Parvathi (who is a prized find for Bollywood) is just so providential for director Tanuja Chandra.

Malayalam actor Parvathy, who has also acted in Tamil and Kannada films, will have her first Hindi release, Qarib Qarib Singlle, on Friday. Ahead of the film's release, Parvathy appeared on a chat show with Sneha Menon Desai of Film Companion.

Actor Parvathy will soon be seen in her first Hindi film Qarib Qarib Singlle. The posters have already created a buzz on social media. 

And now, the makers have released the film's trailer. 

At the beginning of the trailer, Jayashree (Parvathy) is someone who raises her eyebrows at Yogendra Kumar Devendra Nath Prajapati (Irrfan Khan) aka Viyogi's eccentric mannerisms. 

The actors speak in Hindi for the most part. But just as we wonder if Parvathy is playing a non south Indian in the film, there she is, swearing in colourful Malayalam!
