This film tells the story of a young actor who becomes a commercial sex worker for the male clientele.
The story is told in a non-linear manner, and covers many years of the life of Adonis. Full concentration is needed to understand the story. There is plenty of full male nudity, and there are many explicit sex scenes. The sex scenes are there to make the film commercial, but they do not distract the deep subplots about the meaning of life, reincarnation and karma. It is definitely a film to ponder upon, and repeated viewings are required to fully grasp the plot.

I have no idea what this movie was all about. Of course I read the English synopsis on the cover, that was intriguing enough to buy the dvd, but unfortunately there's no menu on my copy, so no choice of language or even subtitles, it was all in (I suppose) Chinese. The images didn't really help me to reconstruct some sort of coherent narrative: I saw a young man, apparently the Adonis from the title, being subjected to a gang-bang or a gang-rape, visiting a brothel or a gay sex- or nightclub, sleeping with various people or having sex with them, playing a role in a Chinese theater, swimming in a luxurious swimming pool, and wandering through a forest. But how all this should be tied together to form a story???
The Adonis-character was during most of the movie naked, and besides him, there was in all these scenes an almost overwhelming amount of naked men. Now I don't have anything against male nudity (not me!), but in a main stream movie (not meant to be porn, I mean) I like it to be at least in some way functional to the story. Since I couldn't discern such a story (I admit, the language barrier didn't help), all that remained was the sex and nudity, displayed in what to me seemed an exaggerated arty style that mainly impressed as pretentious and got pretty tedious after one and a half hour.

I don't understand what's on their mind, why they made such like this movie, so disturbing & disgusting at the same time. It's not art, it's just bunch of nude man in one movie together, without a good narration. Watching this makes me want to puke... 😓😓😓.. i need holy water. Not worth to watch.
