Makoto Shinkai is a genius.

The thing is, he's kind of rubbing it in our face. Every moment of every film he's ever made seems to have been designed to be the most gorgeous and touching thing you've ever seen, and this approach extends to this production, which is A COMMERCIAL. IT IS A COMMERCIAL. It has no business being this good. This feels like a trailer for a simultaneously heartwarming and heartbreaking anime, except it's A COMMERCIAL.

What is wrong with you, Makoto?!?!?!

Honestly Makoto could have made this 2 minute commercial into a full movie if he tried to. This movie could have been right up with Your Name and 5cm per second. But nooo!

There is not much for me to spoil or talk about here. If you want to watch it just look it up on Youtube but it is not dubbed.

If it does get dubbed I would want someone like Max Mittleman or Kyle McCarley to voice Shota and Alexis Tipton or Christine Marie to voice Miho.

Since this short is only 4 years old I hope Makoto actually decides to do a series or a movie of this

Theoretically this is amazing. I just watched this (it randomly popped up on youtube) and though this is alot like your name surely this is a rip off of that but i kept watching and i started to get excited at the prospect of this being a film that i could watch and then i saw Makoto Shinki in the credits and went omg i need to watch this film turns out it is only an advert. And as adverts go this seems to be a pretty bad one (but that may also be because i cant read japanese so only saw subtitles) but as a movie trailer it was amazing. It told the first act of the story and then left us as we finished the first act and now i really want a full film. I guess that film is your name which is of course amazing but its not Cross Road's and what this could be. But i doupt thatll happen.

Unfortunately i cannot recomend watching this add however i can recommend Makoto makes this a film or even better series.

I truly believe that this commercial is the origin of your name so I am happy that this exists

I wish you would reconsider to make a movie from this commercial. If you do I promise that it will Rival 5 CENTIMETRES PER SECOND and YOUR NAME,your masterpieces. There are a lot of us who expect good stories like YOUR NAME from you. After I saw the commercial video I really wish to see the movie. As I am saying that even if you are having trouble making the story we believe that you can make it awesome. We believe in your expertise. Mr. Makoto Shinkai, I expect even greater stories from you in the near future. Please do concern about CROSS ROAD.
