The movie's atmosphere reminded me on some works of Alfred Hitchcock and David Lynch.
There are 2 versions of this movie: black-and-white and in colour. I recommend start watching from the first for better mystery effect and the art house "retro" feeling. Also, Mad's facial features look really good in black-and-white.
It was fun to see they used some of the striking movements and headshots that later appear in the game "Death Stranding". In the game, Mads is older, so it's interesting to compare.
On a side note. Mad's brother Lars had played in a different movie with exactly the same title, "Viceværten".
