It’s been 14 years, but finally the last stop is here. Today, the official trailer for Final Destination: Bloodlines has pulled into the station, reigniting the flames of the long-running franchise which last graced our screens back in 2011. It’s been a long time since that wild twist at the end of Final Destination 5 revealed the film to be a prequel to the 2000 movie that started it all, and now we finally have the next chapter. Co-helmed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the feature brings the filmmakers behind the live-action Kim Possible film and Freaks back together to do what they do best — hitting audiences with some serious trauma.
Today’s trailer better spells out the story that will unfold when Final Destination: Bloodlines collides with cinemas on May 16. This time, fate’s twisted game of death will follow a family, as one of its members does her...

Death sets one unsuspecting tattoo artist’s business (and body) ablaze in the fiery, gruesome first teaser trailer for “Final Destination Bloodlines.”
Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, whose previous credits include 2018’s “Freaks” and the live-action “Kim Possible” movie, the new film comes 14 years after “Final Destination 5” hit theaters in 2011. It’s based on a screenplay by Lori Evans Taylor and Guy Busick (“Scream IV”) and will follow a new assortment of characters as they try to cheat Death and escape the grisly, cartoonishly constructed ends that await them.
The film’s first trailer is a simple return to form for the “Final Destination” franchise. Across its succinct two minutes, the spot follows a tattooist (Richard Harmon) grieving his father’s recent passing who ends up caught literally in a quickly escalating trap set in motion by Death itself. The results are predictably brutal and horrifying.
Check out the teaser below.

We might be entering the dog days of summer but Hulu isn’t slowing down. The streamer’s list of new releases for August 2023 is a pretty impressive collection of content.
The biggest Hulu original this month is season 3 of true crime comedy Only Murders in the Building on Aug. 8. This time around Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd are joining the already-stacked cast that features Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. This season’s central murder appears to take place at a theater (outside the building) but I think we’ll let it slide.
That’s far from the only worthwhile original in August as Aug. 2 sees the premiere of the third and final season of superb comedy Reservation Dogs. That will be followed by South Korean sci-fi series Moving on Aug. 9, Solar Opposites season 4 on Aug. 14, and A Murder at the End of the World on Aug. 29. Of course,...

Cobra Kai's Peyton List endorses a popular theory involving her character, Tory, and Samantha. The hit Netflix series might've wrapped up its most recent installment back in September, but Cobra Kai season 5 has continued to draw a lot of discussion for the way that it concluded on a hopeful note by essentially ending all its major rivalries. By the time the finale rolled around, Daniel and Johnny were buddies. Miguel and Robby were joking around as future step-siblings. Even in the case of Tory and Sam, the former enemies were able to set aside their animosity for the greater good.
While promoting her new movie The Friendship Game, List answers some questions for BuzzFeed. When asked about whether Tory and Sam could ever really be friends, List begins by saying she initially agreed with her co-star, Mary Mouser, who plays Sam, that the two will never be pals. Still, as she elaborates,...

The Friendship Game is a Canadian horror movie directed by Scooter Corkle, starring Peyton List, Brendan Meyer and Jennifer Copping.
A teen and YA horror flick that could have been better. A promising premise, a disappointing production.
Premise
A group of friends come across a strange artifact that will put their friendship at risk. All the while, a hacker watches them with her spyware.
Movie Review
Do you know when a movie is not particularly well elaborated and the story is a bit disappointing? ‘The Friendship Game’ is one such example. Following a rather flat start, and despite it, you think to yourself, “oh, I will give it a chance.” Because the premise seems promising, and we expect it to tell us a story with multiple narratives, and think, “it might actually be worth the while.”
Unfortunately, that is not the case, but, hey, we did give it a chance.

For much of The Friendship Game, a film that dances between more conventional horror and something resembling science fiction, there was a sense of déjà vu in how similar it felt to the 2017 film Wish Upon. This is not a flattering comparison as it extends beyond their shared narrative device of a mysterious object that can grant the wishes of those who possess it to how each plays everything so straight even as the story gets increasingly silly. The Friendship Game is much better than that, much of this due to some occasionally enrapturing visuals that feel more adventurous, though it still gets caught up spinning its wheels and sporadically gesturing at something more substantial that it is never able to piece together.

The idea of “friends forever” is a nice sentiment that many people think about throughout high school. For some, it’s hard to imagine growing apart from one’s best friends even at the face of dramatic changes like relocation, college aspirations, and personal growth. These are concepts screenwriter Damien Ober plays around with in a horror mystery/thriller that aims to test loyalty among a group of high school friends as they transition to new chapters in their lives. Directed by Scooter Corkle, The Friendship Game had all the elements it needed to succeed in this genre. However, the film tends to bite off more than it can chew, and the end result is a colossal disappointment.
Cotton (Kaitlyn Santa Juana), Zooza (Peyton List), Courtney (Kelcey Mawema), and Robbie (Brendan Meyer) will be friends to the end — at least, that’s what they think before a mysterious object puts...

Plot: Follows a group of teens as they come across a strange object that tests their loyalties to each other and has increasingly destructive consequences the deeper into the game they go.
Review: The idea of a mysterious object disrupting a group of friends’ lives isn’t new, but The Friendship Game has some fun along the way. It asks the question: what would you do if your best friends leave you behind? It’s one that many people have either experienced or at least pondered, so there’s already a good starting point to get the audience. Unfortunately, I’m not really sure that it’s presented in the most palatable of ways.
The Friendship Game is structured in a very interesting way: separating the narrative of each person by segment. Every aspect of how it unfolds in the opening feels like it’s trying to carve its own...
