Walton Goggins
Walton Goggins is headed to CBS. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Justified star has joined the network's L.A. Confidential reboot pilot. Based on the novel by James Ellroy, the drama follows three homicide detectives, a reporter, and an actress whose lives "intersect while the detectives pursue a sadistic serial killer among the secrets and lies of glamorous and gritty 1950s Los Angeles." In 1997, the book was adapted as a film starring Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce, and Kim Basinger.

TV certainly isn’t starved for adaptations of crime novels, stories about L.A., or series based on popular films. Nevertheless, CBS is going to try to make a show that combines all three.

According to a Variety report, “L.A. Confidential” is the latest film-to-tv series in the works, again on network television. The film version went on to plenty of awards success, and despite that prestige pedigree, it looks like this will be on broadcast rather than the CBS All Access platform.
