What do you do when the last spinoff of your favorite Canadian sci-fi show ended ages ago and you've worn out your DVD box set rewatching it? If you're as obsessive as I am about my favorite franchises, you might just want to catch up with all the show's stars in their most recent projects. Luckily, when it comes to the cast of "Stargate Sg-1," there are plenty of great post-series movies and shows to choose from.

The long-running "Stargate" saga, based on Roland Emmerich's 1994 movie, has fizzled out a bit in recent years, due in part to apparently complicated rights issues. At its height, the franchise included several TV shows and movies, plus novels, comic books, games, and a web series. None of them were quite as beloved as "Stargate Sg-1," which was nominated for nine Emmys and kick-started the careers of several of its stars. Others involved...

Management company Night has brought in former Unrealistic Ideas exec Jared Jacobs as vice president of development for Night Studios, its creator-centered content production arm.

“At Night, we think that digital creators are well on their way to becoming the most influential personalities in the entertainment industry, and we expect this trend to only grow in the coming years,” a Night representative tells Tubefilter.

To that end, Night Studios intends to team up with some of the more than 50 creators Night manages to produce everything from podcasts to TV shows to animated projects, films, documentaries, and live programming.

Jacobs, as previously mentioned, joins from Mark Wahlberg-founded Unrealistic Ideas, where he was director of development. Before joining Unrealistic Ideas, he spent more than two years at Blumhouse Productions, working on unscripted series including HBO‘s What Happened, Brittany Murphy? and Netflix‘s Our Father. Prior to that, he was with William Morris Endeavor.

Sarah Wayne Callies, James Saito, Tim Chiou, Freda Foh Shen and Felisha Terrell are set as leads in ABC drama pilot The Company You Keep, starring Milo Ventimiglia and Catherine Haena Kim, from 20th Television.

The project, which is based on Korean format My Fellow Citizens that ran for more than 30 episodes on KBS2, follows con man Charlie (Ventimiglia) and undercover CIA officer Emma (Kim). A night of passion leads to love between the pair, who unknowingly are on a collision course professionally. While Charlie ramps up the “family business” so he can get out for good, Emma’s closing in on the vengeful criminal who holds Charlie’s family debts in-hand — forcing them to reckon with the lies they’ve told so they can save themselves and their families from disastrous consequences.

A docuseries, Ministry of Evil: The Twisted Cult of Tony Alamo (February 27th at 11 p.m. Et/Pt) "chronicles the life and crimes of Tony Alamo, who, together with his wife, became a born-again, fire-and-brimstone televangelist and cult leader. Sarah Wayne Callies has been cast in a lead role of the NBC drama pilot “Council of Dads,” Variety has learned.

In addition, Michele Weaver, Blue Chapman, and J. August Richards have been cast in the pilot in series regular roles.

Based on Bruce Feiler’s memoir of the same name, the show follows Scott Perry and his family, whose lives are thrown into upheaval when he gets a potentially terminal diagnosis. Facing his mortality, he and his wife, Robin, assemble a unique group of carefully chosen friends to support his family and guide them through the ups and downs of life’s many challenges.

Callies will play Robin Perry, an Ob/Gyn and the mother/stepmother to four children ranging in age from 7 to 21 who is also pregnant.

The actress, comedian and talk show host has signed a first-look producing deal with Universal Television for scripted series and with Universal Television Alternative Studio for unscripted programming.

Chelsea Handler has signed a first-look deal with Universal Television and Universal Television Alternative Studio. The move brings the comic back into the NBCUniversal fold following the cancellation of her much-hyped Netflix talk show last year.

Under the new agreement, Handler will develop and produce scripted and unscripted programming for the studios.
