Part of what makes Stephen King’s It so unique – and so engrossing – is that the legendary auteur allows his Pennywise saga to unfold across two decidedly different eras: 1958 and 1985.
And though New Line toyed around with that timeline during the transition from book to screen – Andy Muschietti’s horror hit actually kicks off in 1988 – the 27-year time gap still applies, meaning It: Chapter Two will likely begin in the year 2015, by which point the Losers Club will be fully-grown adults.
It’s a flash forward that has raised a lot of questions in the casting department, and horror fans have been quietly rooting for Jessica Chastain to land the role of adult Bev. But what about those breakout stars that anchored Muschietti’s modern gem? Indeed, will they have a role in the upcoming sequel?

[Editor’s note: Spoilers for “The Last Jedi” follow.]
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” features recognizable cameos from Justin Theroux and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” director Gareth Edwards, among others, but one cameo you definitely missed was from none other than Mark Hamill. The actor was front and center in “The Last Jedi” reprising his role as Luke Skywalker, but that wasn’t the only starring role he had in the Rian Johnson-directed sequel.

Hamill reveals to Entertainment Weekly that he had a top-secret second role in “The Last Jedi,” one that he isn’t willing to disclose just yet. What we do know is that the character is named Dobbu Scay (an anagram for editor Bob Duscay) and appears during the Canto Bight section of the film. Hamill can’t be seen but can be heard voicing the character.

Stories of scandal are scattered throughout each episode of The Crown's second season, and the ups and downs of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip's relationship are one of the show's central points. Show creator Peter Morgan tiptoes around this issue as he alludes to the prince's infidelity - and for good reason. With so much at stake, he definitely doesn't want to jeopardize the queen's opinion of the show. In The Crown we see Philip struggling with his new title; his Navy days now behind him, he is solely a husband and consort to the queen. Trying to find his place, we see him running around town with his best friend and private secretary, Mike Parker. The queen clearly has her suspicions about Philip's extracurricular activities, but chooses not to confront him. Things get heated before Philip leaves on tour to open the Olympic Games in Australia...

[[tmz:video id="0_xiegrepj"]] Just 4 days before Damontre Moore was cut by the Dallas Cowboys, the NFL defensive end was in a crazy street brawl in Texas ... and it sounds like someone fired a gun. TMZ Sports obtained footage from the Oct. 20 incident outside of Bottled Blonde beer garden -- where 25-year-old Moore was getting into it with a group of guys. One witness tells us the fight was over a woman -- but the details are unclear. What we do...

Supreme Leader Snoke may be comparable to Emperor Palpatine in that Andy Serkis’ humanoid alien has been angled as the ultimate big bad of Disney’s current Star Wars saga, but whereas the prequels outlined every step of Palpatine’s rise (descent?) into Darth Sidious, Rian Johnson has vowed to exercise some restraint when it comes to Snoke and his place in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
What we do know, though, is that he’s the master puppeteer pulling the strings behind the First Order – the modern incarnation of the Galactic Empire, essentially – and prefers to command his troops from afar. That’s a strategy we saw unfold in The Force Awakens, when Snoke relayed instructions via a floor-to-ceiling hologram.

As one might expect from any 1960’s James Bond pastiche, an assortment of cool spy gadgetry is on display in Franklin Adreon’s Dimension 5 (1966): microchips secreted in the rear compartment of a Bulova wristwatch, a poison dart firing pen, an exploding briefcase, and a cool bullet-firing point-and-shoot 35mm camera. If that’s not enough – and with possible exception of the invisible car from Die Another Day (2002) - Dimension 5 offers us one of the more ridiculous and dubious items found in any secret agent arsenal… a “time-convertor” belt.
We’re first introduced to this device during the film’s mildly exciting pre-credits sequence. In the first few minutes we’re treated to what one expects from a nifty ‘60s spy thriller: a bit of a car chase, a surprising punch-to-the mouth of a double-crossing Asian villainess and a swooping helicopter rescue. Cast your mind back to the summer of 2017, when Wonder Woman ruled over the box office and comic book fans were looking toward Justice League with a sense of cautious optimism.
Indeed, thanks to the meteoric success of Patty Jenkins’ solo movie, Warner Bros. had reportedly doubled down on the Immortal Warrior in the hope of courting the female audience en masse. But it would appear the fallout from Hollywood’s ongoing sexual harassment saga, one prompted by the accusations initially made against Harvey Weinstein, had a knock-on effect on Justice League.
At least, that’s according to an exhaustive ResetEra post uncovered by ‘MrMak1080,’ which deems Justice League to be a “lightning rod for tragedy, controversy and overall PR problems.” Uploaded to the ‘DCEUleaks’ subreddit, the following report begins by outlining Warner’s “modest” box office projections, before deep diving into what went wrong.

Not to be outdone by Netflix and Black Mirror season 4, CBS All Access is moving forward with a new interpretation of The Twilight Zone.
The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop, confirming that Get Out helmer Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg will oversee development of the sci-fi revival, though CBS stopped short of mentioning an episode count and/or a tentative release window. Common logic dictates that the network will let this announcement simmer for some time while it tends to Star Trek: Discovery, its other high-profile All Access series that’s poised to conclude its opening season on January 7th.
What we do know, however, is that The Twilight Zone reboot has appointed Marco Ramirez (Daredevil) as showrunner, and Peele is of the belief that there’s no better time to reintroduce the seminal classic:

We've finally come to the end of 2017, which means: lots of under-the-wire Oscar hopefuls! The return of the Bellas! A brand spankin' new Star Wars! Along with the final push of awards contenders (Steven Spielberg! Paul Thomas Anderson! Guillermo del Toro!), viewers can look forward to a pair of biopics about ethically compromised women, two vastly different musicals and the Rock taking on motorcycle-riding warriors and a safari's worth of jungle creatures. Oh, and James Franco giving what may arguably be the single greatest performance of the year. Yes, you read that sentence correctly.

20th Century Fox is beginning to court The Predator out of hiding.
Nine months ahead of release, and exactly 30 years since the launch of John McTiernan’s cult classic, the Powers That Be have begun hosting test screenings for Shane Black’s starry reboot. And let’s just say that early reactions are all over the place.
As reported by MovieWeb, prominent YouTuber ‘Mr H Reviews‘ posted a video concerning these leaked previews, though it’s since been pulled offline. With that in mind, and before we get into the nitty-gritty, we should stress that Fox’s screenings were allegedly held in secret, so there’s no way of telling if these knee-jerk reactions are legitimate.
Nevertheless, they do make for interesting reading, with many admitting that it took some time to adjust to The Predator‘s comedic leanings. This is a Shane Black gig, after all.

Look, I enjoyed Justice League. It was a fun and entertaining film. But, there's one major aspect of the film that bugged the living hell out of me! It was Superman's CGI upper lip!
When Henry Cavill was brought in for reshoots with Joss Whedon, he had to grow out a mustache for his role in the next Mission: Impossible film. Unfortunately, he was contractually obligated not to shave it, so Warner Bros. had to spend a shit-ton of money to remove it digitally.
It was even more unfortunate that it turned out to be some of the worst CGI in a major big-budget film that I've seen in a long time. As much as I enjoyed how the character of Superman was handled, that CGI upper lip was super freakin' distracting, creepy looking, and laughably bad. Hope Van Dyne won’t be the only one sporting a revamped suit in Ant-Man and the Wasp, as a new video from HBO has brought us closer to Scott Lang’s new duds as they’ll appear in the 2018 sequel.

[Editor’s note: The following contains spoilers for “The Walking Dead” Season 8 Episode 3, “Monsters.”]
Whose Episode Is It?
Our fears from last week seem to be borne out, as we’re going to be spending an indefinite amount of time on this one lengthy initiative against the Saviors. That means plenty of cross-cutting between the various parties involved, which means no singular focus, yet again. What we do get are more discussions about morality, which lends more credence to the idea that it’ll be a big theme this season, instead of a passing fancy like in seasons past. Some intriguing ideas are raised in “Monsters,” namely just how alike Rick and his hated enemies the Saviors are, but the episode puts off exploring them for a later date. There’s still some action to be had, but it’s about as exciting as watching paint dry.

Don’t go into hibernation yet, all you Marvel movie maniacs! Now, this past spring we took another joyride through the cosmos in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2. Then, just a couple of months later, the web-slinger headlined his first solo (he did get some mentoring from Iron Man) outing (a team-up between Marvel Studios and Sony) in the entertaining Spider-man: Homecoming. So, is this new flick another big many-hero slugfest? Yes, a bit, as was with Captain America: Civil War, but just one hero’s name precedes the colon, the mighty Thor. He’s overdue since it’s been over four years since Thor: The Dark World. During that time he helped saved the Earth once more as a...

Both Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) have been tipped to appear in the so-far untitled Avengers 4, but can we expect a S.H.I.E.L.D. resurgence, too?
The Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division was essentially dismantled soon after Captain America: The Winter Soldier three years ago, while Nick Fury hasn’t been involved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Age of Ultron.
That all changes with the release of Captain Marvel in 2019 though, when Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s spinoff will seemingly set Jackson opposite Brie Larson, and effectively complete their mini Skull Island reunion. And after that? Well, rumors of Slj’s involvement in Avengers 4 continue to simmer, and this new batch of set photos only add fuel to the fire. First unearthed by Cosmic Book News, one tweet mentions that “S.H.I.E.L.D. agents” have been spotted in Atlanta.

The Wrap brings word today that Gareth Evans (The Raid) has entered talks to helm a Deathstroke movie featuring Manganiello in the title role. It’s said to be in the formative stages of development, so it’s unclear as yet whether it’ll be intricately connected to the DC Extended Universe or, in the vein of Warner’s Joker origin story, a standalone project.
What we do know, however, is that Warner has big, big plans for Slade Wilson. Even if Joe Manganiello’s hardboiled assassin winds up being cut from The Batman, this spinoff project could be just what the doctor ordered, as it’ll pave the way for a full-fledged feature anchored by one of Bruce Wayne’s most iconic villains.
Neither Manganiello nor Evans have signed on just yet,...

When it comes to the three amiibos you can get for Super Mario Odyssey, you might be leaning towards the all-white suits for both Mario and Bowser, but you might want to reconsider and purchase Peach in her wedding gown. As you've likely already learned from the headline, that's because using her amiibo in-game grants Mario a wedding dress. Take a look:

As for what purpose the dress serves beyond cosmetic we have no idea. What we do know is that utilizing Peach's amiibo allows an in-game robot character to help Mario find hearts to give him some life throughout his adventures. This sounds useful I guess, but I'm not sure what the point is considering Nintendo has said you can't "Game Over" in this game.

Seeing is believing, but hearing can be too. The newest season of Larry Fessenden and Glenn McQuaid’s “Tales From Beyond the Pale” has delivered audio tales about spooky goings on in such far-flung locales as the Stanley Hotel and the film industry itself, with this week’s two new episodes — which IndieWire can exclusively premiere — taking place in rural Pennsylvania and Montreal, respectively.

“Barricade” finds a just-married couple on their honeymoon, where the aftereffects of nearby fracking unleash something chthonic from the ground; Fessenden wrote the 23-minute tale, which features the voice talents of Roxanne Benjamin, Jeremy Gardner, Tony Todd, Samuel Zimmerman. It’s like a short film in sonic form, with the details of just what those beings look like left to the listener’s imagination.

After the disappointment that was Terminator: Genisys, it was pretty hard to imagine a scenario that would excite fans about another movie in the franchise. But somehow, here we are. Terminator 6, which sees the return of Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, is set to begin filming in March of next year. Arnold Schwarzenegger had previously indicated this would be the case, but now it's been confirmed. Things are moving right along with the sequel, which means that pre-production appears to be going smoothly.
Deadpool director Tim Miller has been tapped to helm Terminator 6, but perhaps most importantly, James Cameron, who created the franchise and directed the first two installments, is on board as an executive producer. And he's been very involved in the process. Filming on the new Terminator movie is said to be taking place in several locations around Europe, including Budapest, Hungary and Spain. As of right now,...

Skynet is gearing up for its long-rumored hard reset.
My Entertainment World (via Omega Underground) brings word that Tim Miller’s untitled Terminator reboot, the first in a “three-film reinvention,” is poised to enter production in the spring.
Produced in collaboration with James Cameron, a bona fide veteran of the series who promises to “revamp” The Terminator for the 21st century, both Spain and Budapest have been earmarked as potential locations, which tells us that Skydance’s sixth entry into the illustrious franchise could be prepped and ready for a summer 2019 release.
Only Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger are on the casting docket – for now, at least – though last we reported, James Cameron stressed his desire to “hand off the baton” to a new generation. Think of how Star Wars handled its transition from one era to the next and you’ll begin to get an idea of Cameron’s line of thinking.

So much attention has been paid to the core pillars of Star Wars: The Last Jedi (see: Snoke, Rey, Luke and Kylo Ren) that it’s almost easy to forget that Rian Johnson’s forthcoming sequel is about to canonize two major new human characters: DJ and Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo.
Brought to life by Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern, respectively, the two franchise newcomers are literally worlds apart. DJ, for instance, is best described as an “enigmatic figure” replete with a “lackadaisical attitude.” What we do know is that he’s an expert codebreaker, and will seemingly factor into Finn and Rose’s mission aboard Canto Bight.
Holdo, on the other hand, is a high-ranking member of the Resistance. And a well-dressed one at that. Seen here in political attire, Laura Dern’s pink-haired leader looks to be addressing a small pool of Resistance fighters, along with a never-before-seen Bb unit.

When you’re discussing the most iconic themes in cinematic history, there’s undoubtedly a few choice selections that’ll make anybody’s short list. Naturally, one may bring up John Williams’ work on Star Wars or Superman: The Movie, or Danny Elfman’s contributions to Batman. But when it comes to the horror genre, there’s one piece that arguably reigns supreme – and that’s the one from John Carpenter’s Halloween.
As you’ve surely heard, after nine years away from the screen, the franchise is now set to return on its 40th anniversary with a new movie to be released in 2018. That unkillable boogeyman Michael Myers will be back once again and, best of all, so will Jamie Lee Curtis as his perennial would-be victim Laurie Strode.
But they’re not the only ones set to return, as Carpenter is heading back to the series, too, though not in a directing capacity.

It's been a long time coming, but Saw 8 is just around the corner. Despite the fact that Saw: The Final Chapter promised an end to the twisted murder games, Lionsgate couldn't resist giving us another installment of the legendary horror franchise this Halloween season. In order to scare up some excitement, the studio has released a brand new featurette for Jigsaw, which recaps the entire Saw franchise one gruesome kill at a time.
The featurette, titled The Philosophy of Jigsaw, reviews the reason that Tobin Bell's serial killer does what he does. As John Kramer reminds us in this video, "Those who don't appreciate life don't deserve it." The video opens up with a quick reminder of this exact philosophy, but then it transitions into a rapid-fire recap of some of the most iconic traps and kills, in order, from the entire franchise, leading up to some of the...

Turns out the villain has been housed up in his Mega Star Destroyer, the Supremacy, all along, but everyone involved in the film has assured us that he’ll...

One glance at the Marvel slate will tell you that Ant-Man and the Wasp finds itself sandwiched between Infinity War and the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4.
The only other McU film pencilled in for that same window is the long-in-development Captain Marvel solo movie, though Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck needn’t worry too much about continuity as the vast majority of their spinoff is set to unravel in the 1990s, when Carol Danvers crosses paths with the villainous Skrulls.
For Ant-Man and the Wasp, it’s a totally different story. The official synopsis states that Peyton Reed’s diminutive sequel takes place “in the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War,” when Scott Lang is on the run once again. In fact, that’s exactly what’s being depicted in this new batch of set photos below, which come to us by way of Just Jared and bring us closer to the...

“Our heads are sensibly shaped.”
Kryten is inarguably Red Dwarf's most iconic character. The rubbery, angular mask of the mechanoid head is a marvellous design that should probably stifle any actor wearing it, but Robert Llewellyn's performance has only become more impressive over time. In terms of design and personality, he's the character who could scarcely belong to any other show.
Aside from Llewellyn, only a few other actors have donned the mechanoid get-up in previous episodes, but a lot of what we see in Siliconia feels like it's been...
