I gave that 6star only for their concept that really connects you from the very start of the movie. But coming to the screenplay, production values,costumes ,colours, and even Cinema autography everything was very dull. That made the movie disaster..

A good concept with lot of misses! There are gaping plotholes that is not explained in the movie. Towards the end the movie starts falling apart.

Director does know what when dealing with the sci-fi elements and his version of future technology does holds its ground on probability factor. Excepts for the repetitive manner in which the movie tends to move once we know what is happening in the story, all other aspect of the movie are well made.

Wish the director comes with more no nonsense sci-fi movies in tamil in future.

Good Movie. The movie had a different story. Everybody acted very well in the movie. Songs were not good in the movie. BGM was good in the movie. The movie was so interesting at the 1st half but the movie somewhat lagged at 2nd half. The movie had interesting twists and turns. Good Movie.

Science fictions are very rare among Tamil movies. This is one of those rarest movies. Even though I had previously read about the plot of this movie in a local daily, it doesn't hinder in anyway my enjoying the movie. A fast paced thriller with no dull moment! Till the end of the movie, I considered the plot of movie to be an improbable one. But on seeing the title card only, I understood that researches are going on globally over the centre point of the movie. Acting is perfect. No one overdoing it or lacks it! Absolutely no cinematic or heroic deeds in this movie! This movie clearly exhibits the negative side of modern science. Another hidden gem!

I watched the film in Telugu. The director does a good job of making the suspicion laying but uses certain cliches which detract from the film a bit. All in all, worth a watch!

The plot starts only after 30 minutes into the film where a police looks for a murderer and the chain of events leads to a science fiction film. The music and dialogues could have been better and to the point. There were some scenes towards the end that looks childish and absurd. An interesting plot line though already explored in Hollywood was executed amateurishly here.

The murders happening in the city which had similar gestures, perplexed the Police authorities.Inspector Kumaran (Sundeep Kishan) who himself witnessed one of the 'near-live-murder' had trauma after that ,which got mixed with an accident occurred in his young age.The people who were murdered , Dr.Pramodh;a Scientist,his gym trainer,an actress,her makeup man and the rest to follow were part of some mysterious web whom the Police needs to sort out to solve the case.



'Maayavan',a variety murder mystery movie following the way of super-natural,sci-fi movie is an experimental attempt in Tamil cinema.Especially,considering it an Indian regional language movie,there were many chances for it to commit to the compromises.Instead,the emphasis is given to the story structure,which made it a good watch.The first half mainly concentrated on the character formation of Inspector Kumaran,his life and fears without giving any clue on what was happening around.Later,when the mystery was revealed,the story became fast-paced with thrilling sequences.The super-natural,sci-fi elements which formed the major part of the movie had chances to flaw in a big way.But the debutant C V Kumar,with his team was able to make-believe those scenes in a perfect way. Especially,the way in which the 2037 scene at the start which connected the dots towards the climax was worth to watch.The cameo from Jackie Shroff really made the climax a lot powerful than it would have been.

Finalizando: If you love to read odd detective stories and eager to watch one on screen,here you have one to watch!!

The movie is based on murder of a man. But the police could not get the right way what's happening.

Storyline is perfect for a Si-Fi thriller lover. And that movie will keep you in screen full time.

Just when you thought that there cant be more twist to police-criminal stories, here is one that will blow you out. This movie is more advanced than the english movie 'Transcendence'.

Compared to other Indian cinema, Tamil cinema is easying into making sci-fi flicks from movies like this.

I understand that the movie is sci-fi but it still lacks logic on so many levels. The story was dragged a bit more than it needed to be and the background music was the only thing that produced any mysterious effect. But I have to give it up for Sundeep for his acting. He did a great job.

First of its kind Neuroscience based tamil movie with a very gripping screenplay. Each & every scene was intriguing & kept engadged throughout the film except a single pub song. Nothing felt like boring and I totally enjoyed the whole movie experience. This would've been a massive hit if the cast & music would've been good.

You guys will love this movie. What a Good movie. nice Sci-Fi crime thriller. But Incase of actor,he performed well But the writers may choose better choice.

I don't know why this movie is so underrated...people look for logic in sci fi movies made in india but ignores it in hollywood movies..In a marvel movie Thor the god of lighting gets defeated by an electronic device. Its okay for viewers...Just watch the movie and enjoy the thrills...
