We all Know a Bhai's Cafe

The corner shop is such a fundamental part of our collective memory, we all have stories to tell. Hanging out after school; the Bhai who tolerated you more than your parents; feeling rich with a fistful of sweets you ate all the way home - and exactly like that Cheers song - "the place where everyone knew your name."

While the writing could be sharper, and maybe too many genres tried to have their spotlight in this one film, Bhai's Cafe will leave you smiling. Whether for the mirror it holds up to this institution of all our lives; or just for the delightful panoply of characters that made every shop of its kind the heart and soul of the neighbourhood - this little film with a big, big heart deserves a couch and a tub of popcorn.
