I can't understand why this was rated so high unless the ratings are filled with bots or schills. Low budget, bad acting, weak plot, and way too long. My wife and I love classic comedys and we thought we'd give this a try. I wished I'd looked to see that there were only 71 reviews before I started. Loved this movie! It's rare to find an indi movie to actually make me laugh. Even though the movie was longer than your average movie, it was entertaining enough to keep my ADHD engaged. So while it's impossible for me to sit through anything, I didn't even get up for the bathroom. I especially thought the ending was hilarious. And the editing and camera work was great work! I think that was some of the best parts. It was so cool to see such excellent work for an independent movie. There are blockbuster movies with less effort than I saw with this movie. I'm showing this too all my film major friends to watch for inspiration and appreciation!

I haven't laughed this hard at a movie in such a long time. It's honestly a shame that films like this are so hard to come by these days. There's a real need for more family-friendly comedies that are genuinely funny and heartwarming, without the usual forced agendas that seem to dominate modern films. What really stood out to me was how refreshing it was to watch something that focused purely on humor and fun, without trying to push any social or political message. Old Man Jackson, in particular, reminded me of the classic charm found in Steve Martin's films-witty, clever, and full of heart. It was so well-balanced in its humor, with a sense of nostalgia and timelessness. I truly believe Old Man Jackson has the potential to become a beloved classic over time, and I really hope it gets the recognition it deserves. We need more films like this, ones that focus on pure entertainment and quality comedy, and that don't feel the need to align with today's trends or political climate. This film feels like a breath of fresh air in an era where genuine, family-friendly comedy is becoming harder to find. Well done! Bravo!

Clean, no skin, no smut, just a fantastic comedy that the whole family can enjoy. A truly funny story of a guy that just keeps having the worse luck. The situational comedy mixed with a great cast gives us a sensational comedy that had the whole theater laughing and clapping. Speaking of cast, Kathy Graver is so funny, but classy and lovely at the same time. David Dorn's performance is spot on and totally nailed the character. And watch for the cameos of Buford, Mr Gibbs totally brought him to life.

If we had more directors like Mr Gibbs, the entertainment industry would not be in such shambles.

Innocent and light hearted, off beat without taking itself serious, minor continuity questions, but none the less a simple elegant bad day comedy that speaks of a bygone, Stoogesesque day.

David Born and Kathy Garver shine as a long suffering couple. The film hits its notes well.

And director Johnny Ray truly shines as lovelorn Buford probably the best subplot of the entire film.

And let's not for get that this film was shot during the height of the hardest times to meet, and be around folks, and that if not grit, determination, hard work and skill the film would have never been finished.

This movie is great, when seeking a film experience for what it has to offer! No sexual innuendo or content, no profanity, no political, social otherwise subversive or subliminal messaging! Hard to find in anything made now days. The production wasn't easy as it's independent budget that hard working regular every day people funded. This is a G rated, family fun friendly comedy experience that I feel children will get, teens, adults of any age and even the older generation can identify with. There are older actors that fans can remember from their childhoods. The pilot of the movie is relatable for anyone struggling with everyday problems, especially in this era. This was all about one man's one bad day just trying to make it through to find happiness, I can understand that. Struggles at work. Struggles at home. Struggles from your past. Struggles worrying about your future. Struggles in the drive thru placing an order. Struggling with life's philosophical meanings. Struggle getting in to see a doctor. Struggles with being told we're all the same and equal while a beneficial expectation to others to cut in line because of those same characteristics that give excuses of victimization. Struggle with handling anger and emotional outcry, but all in a humorous, slapstick way calling back to old school filmography. The director does a great job recruiting and cultivating the wide array of talent for this film. He recognizes what people bring to the table in being funny in just every day life. Some of the funniest people, and things that happen in life happen naturally, organically, not stand up comedians or Hollywood writers but, the funny friend or coworker who makes the hours of the day go by so much easier because of your experience with them. That's what this movie brings to the big screen!

All the actors and Actresses were on point. It was very funny, David Born did an Awesome job acting, he made me laugh so much. For me to pick the one of the best part of the Movie is when he ran into the Mafia guys, I loved that scene but all and all a GREAT MOVIE for a family to Watch !!! Arthie Pasquale from the Sapranos was Awesome, Butch Patrick Awesome, Kath Garver was excellent in this. The Movie was close to 2hrs long but it was full of comedy I just couldn't stop laughing. The Mafia guy with the bald head was so good at his part I think his name is Joe Di Bari. Now the 2 Cops Tony Ferro & Robert LaSardo where also excellent.

Great actors well done film. You may recognize quite a few of the actors in it. This was Johnny Ray Gibbs first production directing has he has been an actor in many films including The Highwayman with Kevin Costner. Starring in the film is David Born who is absolutely hilarious his reactions and his expressions and comments really help solidify the movie. Then you have Kathy Garver could not have had a better person playing across from him she keeps him on his toes it helps to control his hypochondriac condition. A lot of other names in the film that you will recognize all in all it's a good solid comedy.

A well made indie film that is geared to be light and funny entertainment. It's not Shakespeare but it serves its purpose. The trials of an everyman - just like many Charlie Chaplin films. 99% of this film being a day in the life of a fellow where everything goes wrong in a comedic sense as he tries to get back home. Great cameos here and there. David Born as that everyman, doesn't miss a beat - as the lead in this "The Odyssey meets Buster Keaton" esk film.

I did like that as a running gag the lead keeps ending up in the same hospital but much worse for the wear each time. Many of his trials we can all associate with. Also his reaching out to the Catholic church only to be confronted by the priest and then chased out on his ear by the very funny nun bearing an active ruler.

I attended the red carpet premiere to this movie and it was filled with so much love and laughter! We has such a wonderful time and it was so nice to see my brother in the movie and at the premiere. It gave me a chance to see him for the first time in a year! I also got to meet a few of the actors my brother worked with and they are all so kind. The movie was absolutely great and very funny! All of the actors did a wonderful job! The movie was clean and you can see all the hard work that was put into it buy everyone involved from the actors to the director/producer.

The acting was consistently good. David Born was a fantastic choice for lead. The storyline is cute and the overall effect is to be amused. It's nice leaving a movie without knowing who the producers votes for or prays to. I used this as an introduction to grown up movies for my 8 year old and she laughed throughout even hugging me and thanking me for bringing her. After sitting through 100's of cartoon movies it was a wonderful experience. Director Johnny Ray Gibbs did a great job bringing together several supporting actors from around the country to fill out a cast you will know many of. Each actor is matched to parts that are natural fits which also helps the flow.

I really enjoyed watching this movie! It's rare to find an independent film that's actually funny but this film delivers! It's a very slapstick kind of comedy. The storyline is hilarious and well executed. It is also family friendly so everyone can watch it. I would say it's equivalent to a PG rated film. This movie was also locally filmed and I appreciate any film filmed in Texas using local actors. But don't be fooled, the film has some big name actors and cameos too. If you need something light hearted and funny, this is the movie for you! It is a little longer than a typical comedy, but still funny nonetheless.

Without giving out spoilers it's a funny and relatable movie. If you've ever had one of those days where everything goes wrong you'll definitely find this relatable and funny. Well written and great actors, also added bonus if you're from south east Texas Houston/Pearland area you will see alot of familiar places. This movie was fab. Within the first 5 minutes we were laughing.

Teenagers are a tough audience and my teen loved it .

It's great to see a film that the whole family can watch together. Some of the actors I remember from my childhood .

WOW, Just saw this movie for the first time last night, didn't think anything of it at first but I wanted to see something new that I have never seen before and this movie was definitely it! It was a very heartwarming comedy movie, fun for the whole family and you'll definitely be laughing throughout the whole movie.

If you are looking for something new to watch and a comedy then this is a must see! I give it a 5 out if 5 star rating, I definitely will be buying this movie once it comes out! I would definitely give it a try, David Born is seriously a comedian legend he will keep you laughing, this should be added to the best comedy movies of 2023!

I enjoyed this lighthearted comedy very much. I had quite a few laugh out loud moments! I related to Mr. Jackson because we have all had these bad days, but not to this extreme thank goodness haha. I found myself cheering for him to escape his freaky unpredictable nightmare of a day. David Born was made to play this role. Kathy Garver shined as always. I always like watching Robert LaSardo so that was a win. Director Johnny Ray Gibbs not only wrote this film, but also acts in it. His hard work and effort paid off! Great job! Even the music was engaging and fitting for the action happening in the film. The camera work was great, as was the editing. Definitely worth a watch. Great film!

The movie has what seems to be a slow start, but it sets up many things later, so make sure you keep watching. I didn't realize how funny it was going to be, so I kept watching and I was impressed and at times in stitches. I love haphazard slapstick comedy. Buford needs his own spinoff btw. I would recommend this film for anyone that needs a good laugh and as far as I could tell, there is no cursing at all and no nudity either. It's family friendly. Without spoiling anything, also pay close attention to the medical staff. I worked at a hospital, and I found it hilarious and a What NOT to do thing. Enjoy!!

What a wonderful nod to slapstick comedy from years gone by. This is an entertaining family friendly movie that takes a much needed break from the seriousness of life in 2023. There were many recognizable faces in this film and it was a fun little game to see how many I recognized! David Born did a fantastic job as Old Man Jackson and Kathy Garver was perfect as his wife. As I understand it, this director wrote, directed and made a cameo appearance as the tow truck driver. My hats off to Mr. Johnny Ray Gibbs for bringing such a delightful and fun film into our entertainment orbits. Bravo! I eagerly await more of your work.

I watched the trailer for Old Man Jackson on YouTube, and it immediately grabbed my attention. I first noticed David Born was playing the lead role. I've seen David Born in several great movies, so I decided to watch it at the movie theater. I honestly laughed from start to finish. This was a great family movie. No cursing, gore or nudity. Just great humor and great acting from the very beginning to the very end. I would absolutely recommend this movie to anyone looking for a good laugh. I also noticed that there is a cameo in this movie from one of the greatest professional boxers of all time named Maurice "Termite" Watkins. This is a must-see movie!!!
