Review:
'Buzzfeed Unsolved: True Crime' had potential, as a documentary series about the famous unsolved mysteries of crime. Covering unsolved cases and hosts presenting there opinion on the cases, and maybe even some theories. This online series was sadly very disappointing.
Well yes, the series can be quite informative on some of these topics, I feel the episodes often derail themselves with there idea of "comedy". Which is just talking about it in a podcast, throwing in a witty remark or curse-word. And it just takes away from the seriousness of what they are talking about. When discussing a murder, do you want to hear jokes? I wouldn't.
Also, the hosts are not as funny as they think they are. The only people that laugh at their jokes, are themselves. I just think they try too hard to be funny. When there jobs as the hosts of this documentary, is to inform the audience in a professional manor.
I do think they put a lot of research into this series, I just wish they took it seriously. If the series was more like a professional documentary series, like something that somewhat resembles 'Cold Case Files'. I would honestly agree with the rating on IMDB. But maybe I just don't get it. Maybe there's something I just don't see. Maybe I'm wrong. Watch it, and decide your opinion on this series.

I was obsessed with this a few years ago. The only thing Buzzfeed has produced that is a lot of fun to watch. The duo couldn't be more perfect. The way Ryan relays information about the case just completely draws you in and Shane is the perfect comic relief.
Although I rarely find Buzzfeed's content entertaining, I would have to say I think this is a rare hit for the company. I enjoy every aspect of every episode, but I believe that the core reason the show works as well as it does is because of the interesting (and funny) dynamic between Shane and Ryan. Shane acting as more of a skeptic and Ryan acting as more of an advocate for "unscientific" theories, like ghosts and/or aliens. Overall, I think they cover interesting cases, the investigating is thorough and most of all it is very entertaining.
This show has everything. From hilarious commentary to mysterious stories. Shane and Ryan's witty banter also adds the perfect touch of realness. I usually don't watch Buzzfeed but for me this is a special exception.
