Did not know this was going to have this many comedic scenes. Loved the satirical take on reality shows and also for having a positive message at the end. A true good vs evil story.
I mean wow! This is one of, if not the worst film of '21. Its a supernatural slasher religious film. Thats right I said religious film. Its about a house set reality show where the cast and crew gets killed by a entity that makes stock sound noises. Its a total mess to say the least but I hated the religious message that treats any non religious person as a immoral idiot. But at the same time the main girl is completely unlikeable. Possibly the worst female protagonist ever. Plus the film is 115 minutes and does not need to be. Also I get a kick that when the two girls look up history of the 1600s there are photoshopped pictures. Snoop Dog is here and Im sure they filmed with him for a day, maybe two at the most. Hes in 5 brief scenes. I hated this film.
This is so absolutely inept, poorly made, amateurish and annoying that it's unfair to label it as a film. I can only imagine they spent their budget on Snoop Dogg's cameo, (or somehow 'Bowfinger-ed' him into the film), and everyone else worked for free. There's a few actors trying hard, but the direction so absent, the cinematography so stale, and a story so nonsensical - this isn't even "fun" bad... it's just bad. And kind of depressing.
And then it slowly becomes frighteningly apparent this isn't a normal horror movie - it's "faith based." It's a non-horror horror film, where any scares or laughs are lost to nonsensical monologues about the power of Jesus. It's almost as if Jesus' PR team paid for product placement throughout the film.
Not all faith based, or Christian films are bad, (The Exorcist, The Mission, Constantine are all different, unique, compelling and entertaining), but this one definitely is. For both the faithful and non-faithful this is nothing but a weird, confusing and boring exercise in formulaic filmmaking with zero creativity, intellect or sense of humour.

A funny fright-filled Horror Comedy about a reality show gone terribly wrong when one of the contestants uses New Age occult techniques and unwittingly unleashes the expected mayhem on her fellow competitors. The film expertly and hilariously skewers the completely contrived world of "reality" TV while delivering some legit scares. My lady friend accidentally threw nachos all over me in one of the scenes! Snoop Dogg and Stephen Baldwin were cool guest stars and Baldwin's biggest scene was surprisingly moving. It was good, spooky, easy to watch fun full of pretty people who die mostly deserved deaths. Grab your gin and juice, sit back and enjoy!
This is sincerely one of the slowest movies I've seen in a long time. The editing is shabby with backgrounds developed for characters that I didn't care about and I'm sure most people won't either. I also didn't see this faith based horror flick thing coming and even that was ineptly done. Forget where you stand on that this is terribly acted, directed, edited (needed to say that again), and a complete waste of time.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions but I have to think that those giving this 9 and 10 must be shills.
