This post contains spoilers for episode 3 of "She-Hulk: Attorney at law."
"She-Hulk: Attorney At Law" isn't a show that lacks in self-awareness, that's for sure. After the premiere episode charted Jennifer Walters' (Tatiana Maslany) origin story alongside a healthy dose of Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner/Hulk, the second episode (re)introduced Tim Roth's Emil Blonsky/Abomination, a holdover from 2008's "The Incredible Hulk" who many fans wouldn't have expected to see again before his appearance in "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings." Now, today's episode gifted us with yet another cameo by Wong (Benedict Wong), the Sorcerer Supreme who has now made a habit of popping up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when you'd least expect him to. All this was wryly acknowledged early in the third episode, with She-Hulk once again breaking the fourth wall to remind viewers of exactly whose show this is.

When Netflix were rolling out their Marvel shows, Luke Cage always felt like the middle man, which is neither a major criticism or a glowing compliment. The series never quite reached the levels of popularity enjoyed by Daredevil or Jessica Jones, but it was far superior to Iron Fist. The first season started to come off the rails a little bit once Mahershala Ali’s Cottonmouth was out of the picture, while the second run was reliably solid if hardly spectacular.
That being said, Mike Colter’s charismatic and powerful performance as the title hero was another example of how the Netflix roster was cast almost perfectly across the board, and Alfre Woodward’s Black Mariah and Simone Missick’s Misty Knight were no slouches, either, with both actresses bringing plenty of personality to their respective characters.

Out of all of Netflix’s Marvel shows, most people seemed to be in agreement that Iron Fist was the weakest. The character’s first taste of live-action didn’t find much favor with either fans or critics, and Danny Rand’s most memorable moments usually came when he had another one of the Defenders to play off.
When it was announced that the series had been canceled along with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and The Punisher, there was a noticeable lack of petitions and online campaigns to save Iron Fist compared to the outrage that greeted the others. It also looked inevitable that all of the Defenders would eventually be rebooted and then absorbed into the McU, leaving Finn Jones’ time in the role as nothing but a distant memory.

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were heartbroken when the studio announced that the entirety of Phase Four was set to be delayed due to the ongoing Coronavirus crisis, with the wait between new McU movies now the lengthiest in over a decade. While we now have to wait until November to get an idea of what Kevin Feige has planned for the franchise over the next couple of years, the unfortunate setback could also turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
Not only does it give the creative teams behind the likes of Spider-Man 3, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder an increased pre-production schedule and more time to fine-tune their scripts, but it could also pave the way for some fresh faces to be introduced into the long-running comic book series. Most notably, former Netflix residents the Defenders.

Spider-Man and Daredevil‘s occasional partnership in the comics universe is legendary, and fans have been wanting to see this brought to the screen ever since the webhead and the hornhead were introduced into the McU a few years ago. Unfortunately, with Matt Murdock dwelling on the Defenders side of things, that wasn’t possible. With the Netflix show long cancelled, though, there’s renewed hope that Marvel will finally make it happen in the near future.
And, until we see it for real, fan artists will keep on imagining what it would be like. Take this awesome piece from Instagram user Mizuri, for example. The artwork sees the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen locked in a staring contest with Queens’ friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. In his caption, Mizuri explains that he was inspired by filmmaker and uberfan Kevin Smith’s recent chat about hearing a rumor that Murdock could appear in Spider-Man 3.

The first trailer for Morbius confirms that Sony’s Spider-Verse is indeed crossing over with Disney’s McU. Ever since Venom was announced, fans have been wondering just how much crossover these two cinematic universes would have and that question initially looked to be settled right out of the gate, with Venom appearing to be set in its own universe where the existence of aliens was a surprise.
But now it seems that in the wake of Disney and Sony getting all buddy-buddy after their tiff last summer, the two universes are set to significantly overlap. Not only will Morbius feature at minimum a poster referencing Spider-Man’s status post-Far From Home, but Michael Keaton will appear as Adrian Toomes/the Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming. Beyond what we’ve seen in the trailer though, we’ll also get J.K. Simmons’ J. Jonah Jameson showing up in both the McU and the Spider-Verse movies.

We’ve got bad news for you, Luke Cage fans. It’s looking like Mike Colter has played the Hero of Harlem for the final time.
Ever since Netflix cancelled all their Marvel TV series starting from about a year ago, the future of the Defenders in the McU has been sketchy. Nevertheless, there’s been a lot of talk of Charlie Cox still returning as Daredevil for further projects under Marvel Studios once they get the rights back in a year or two. Unfortunately, though, the same cannot be said for Colter.
We Got This Covered has previously reported that our sources have pointed to the likelihood being that Marvel wants to do more with Luke Cage in the McU, but that they won’t bring Colter back to play him. Now, our latest update on the situation confirms that the actor’s definitely out as Power Man and...

Kit Harington will play Dane Whitman, Marvel's Black Knight in the Eternals movie. Here's what you need to know about the character.
You Know Nothing…about the Black Knight.
Get it? Because the Black Knight is being played by Kit Harington? You know, the dude that played Jon Snow on Game of Thrones? So like, “you know nothing…” Ah, forget it.
Ahem.
So it seems that the Black Knight is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in The Eternals. This is a bit surprising considering that the classic Marvel Comics Black Knight really has very little to do with the world of the Eternals. But, Dane Whitman, the Avenger known as the Black Knight, is a great character with a rich and surprising history that stretches back to the early days of Marvel. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is ever-expanding. It grows bigger and bigger with every release. The main McU films are already twenty movies deep, and there are also the television shows as well. This year has been massive for the McU. Not only did fans get to see the biggest superhero crossover ever in Avengers: Infinity War, but they also got to see new seasons of each of the four Defenders series in Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, but there’s even more on the way for 2019.
Next year, of course, will play off the wrenching ending of Infinity War with the release of Avengers 4, which still does not have a title. Before that, though, fans will finally see Captain Marvel make it to the big screen, and after that, there will be the exciting new chapter for Marvel’s flagship hero in Spider-Man: Far From Home. “With every end is a new beginning.” Those are the words actor Finn Jones has chosen as his response to the news that “Iron Fist” has been canceled by Netflix after two seasons, sharing a gratitude-filled Instagram post about his experience on the Marvel series. The show weathered a whitewashing controversy prior to its debut and received a more lukewarm reception than fellow Netflix/Marvel dramas “Jessica Jones,” “Daredevil,” and “Luke Cage.”
“I have an enormous amount of love and respect for everyone involved with the last two seasons of this show,” Jones’ post continues. “Defending the greatest city in the world amongst the most talented and warmest people has been a privilege and a joy. Blessed to have taken this journey and grateful for the ongoing support. ”
In addition to “Iron Fist” itself, Jones portrayed the character in the crossover drama “Defenders” as well as the most recent season of “Luke Cage.

It turns out the Iron Fist isn’t so immortal after all. Marvel and Netflix have announced that the maligned superhero drama, which courted a whitewashing controversy prior to airing and has received generally negative reviews throughout its run, has been canceled after two seasons.
Finn Jones played the title character, who also appeared in the crossover drama “Defenders” — a kind of small-screen “Avengers” that saw the Iron Fist team up Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Daredevil (Charlie Cox), and Luke Cage (Mike Colter).
“‘Marvel’s Iron Fist’ will not return for a third season on Netflix,” Marvel and Netflix said in a statement. “Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners. We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we’ve shared on this series.

Marvel and Netflix have confirmed that Luke Cage Season 3 will not happen.
Things are certainly going to be different in Harlem after the conclusion of that awesome latest season, aren't they? Well, at least that's what we thought was going to happen, and then Netflix went ahead and announced that Luke Cage season 3 isn't happening, canceling the series after its second (and best) season.
“Unfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season," Netflix and Marvel TV said in a joint statement (via Variety). "Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series,”
This is a shock and a shame. The previous season of Luke Cage was terrific, and perhaps one of the best seasons of Marvel Netflix programming.

Avengers: Infinity War united almost all of the heroes that have appeared in the McU over the past decade. Well, those that have appeared on the big screen, that is. Characters who’ve starred on the TV side of things, such as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and more, were nowhere to be seen. It’s a Marvel fan’s dream to have the Avengers and the Defenders crossover, but it apparently wasn’t meant to be in this movie.
If things had gone differently, though, perhaps we might have seen the two superhero teams collide. While talking to Variety, Infinity War co-director Anthony Russo explained that the production team briefly considered inserting Marvel Television characters into the film. However, everyone quickly agreed that there was enough to be getting on with as it was.
“We made the briefest consideration of [including TV characters in ‘Infinity War’]. When we’re alone in a room with [screenwriters Christopher] Markus and [Stephen] McFeely,...

Marvel has been doing some exciting things with their Netflix series. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and The Punisher have all been great! Iron Fist still needs a little work. When most of those characters came together for The Defenders, I thought they did a solid job. I enjoyed it, but I wondered if we would see these characters all come together again to face a new threat. According to Krysten Ritter, she doesn't think it will happen.
While speaking with Vulture about Jessica Jones season 2, the critical reception of The Defenders came up, and that's when she said she doesn't think Marvel is going to do another Defenders season.
"Well, I think Jessica was pretty well received. People were excited to see her again, so that made us happy because Jessica is the next up. Y’know, I had a great time doing The Defenders and honestly, it was...

Netflix is all in on the Marvel properties, as we have a release for one of most anticipated sequel seasons, Sweet Christmas, Luke Cage is back!
Every installment of the Netflix McU has been greatly anticipated. If you are like me, you have really ready for the next adventure with Luke Cage. Since his introduction Luke Cage has been one of the most fun of the Defenders. Mike Colter’s portrayal of the hero is every bit as perfect as Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. He was a stand out in Jessica Jones, and though his first season fell apart toward the second half, it wasn’t because of him. His relationship with Iron Fist in Defenders gave us hope for a Heroes For Hire series, and since then we have been waiting.

When Alias Investigations swung its doors open in November of 2015, Jessica Jones was hailed as the best addition to Marvel’s TV lineup in years – better than even Daredevil – so it comes as no surprise that the show’s sophomore installment has occupied headlines left, right and center.
But now for the million-dollar question: is it any good? In short, yes. While Jessica Jones season 2 is a slow burn that lacks the focus of its critically-adorned predecessor, the natural charisma of Kyrsten Ritter is seemingly enough to bring balance to a 13-episode season hamstrung by pacing issues and a weak replacement for David Tennant’s Kilgrave, who consumed Jessica’s mind all throughout the first season.
And so, what follows is a sample of the critical consensus, beginning with our own thoughts on the show’s second run:
