What if?

A truly fun show if you still believe and have an imagination!!! Very well casted with adorable fairies & elves that very well could be fairies & elves. This series should keep going as they bring in more realms & magical beings. Not to be taken seriously nor should it be criticized as it is just meant to be an escape from our mundane world for a magical world where your imagination gets set free for a short while, enjoy!

Feel good fantasy for Kids

My 8 and 11 year old completely loved this. I followed this with them and yes it's silly and quirky but it's quite fun, jolly and fast paced. Allot happening, scenes are short and cutting and editing is frequent but really good. I highly recommend for for Kids from 8 to 80. The message is nice, teamwork, friendship and doing your best. I'm surprised there wasn't a second season.

Something to watch with the kids

Something to watch with the kids. It's cute and fun. The acting is good and the writing is decent, although the musical episode was annoying. The characters have a little depth, especially for a kids show. There isn't much on that appeals to kids that I can stand, so this show fills a niche.

Nothing's wrong with feelgood 😉

Light hearted with a healthy feel good factor, this is not meant to be taken seriously! With fantasy the rules can be discarded. Sometimes an escape from reality is a good thing 😉

Like it!!

I have watched the first episode an was impressed. The acting is good and I'm so glad it's not like other stories in this genre like the potter movies or charmed ect. Make no mistake I like the Harry Potter books and movies but I don't like charmed. This show is funny and light. A real family friendly show.

Great show for its target audience!

If you remember that this show is for kids then it's a great show. I think any negative reviews fail to take that into account. The only criticism that I have is Imogen's elf ears look so fake! It is so distracting that sometimes it's the only thing I can think of during scenes.

It's a great family show, and I love watching it anytime I'm in the mood for something light and uplifting. I wish they had more shows like this that aren't dark or try to push through some political message. I also like that they have a mystery story about the origin of and extent of Kyra's powers. It makes the show that more interesting.

Worth to watch!

This show has positive messages and amazing role models for any age. The whole family can enjoy the show, especially children because it;s appropriate for any age and the story-line is amazing. There's no bad language, smoking or drinking. Just pure fun, adventure and magic that kids will fall in love with. This show takes you to a different world of magic hidden amongst humans with fairies and elves that have magical powers and they get into trouble in a fun shown way that;s very enjoyable and likable. This show deserves high ratings and appreciation. It's wonderful!

Cute, Funny And Has Some Originality

Well- it's not got Steven Spielberg directing nor does it have DreamWorks animation but it has a high quality and we (our family, my wife, and myself) were, overall, entertained by it.

The actors (including the child actors) were proficient at their craft. The computer graphics were (sorry) poor but, hey, it's Nickelodeon, right?

The reason we can't award our baseline 8-star review is simple. The glaring major plot holes! Our eldest child ( along with the adults ) could spot the major plot holes, and they certainly detracted from the production: The major decree is that humans cannot see magic users. ( But sometimes they can, with no explanation).

A nice idea, poorly executed.

Obviously this is aimed at kids so I wasn't expecting anything hugely sophisticated. It's actually a good premise and could have had potential. What let it down for me was the acting. Even accounting for the fact that they're young, the lead actors gave terrible performances so rather than getting carried away with the magic, I spent the whole time cringing. It's a shame because it's a cute idea and could have been a really enjoyable watch.

So underrated!

It really is very underrated! It's really worth it! Yes, it is a children's series, but it really has very good graphics and narrative thread! I one, I recommend it!

Delightful premise, too rushed.

I like the idea of the series and the characters , but the stories are too rushed to fit into the 25 minute time frame. It needs to be around 45 minutes for better pacing.

Season 2 - HORRIBLE

What in the world were you thinking when you decided to turn the show into a musical? Was it the musical episodes in season 1 that got you a season 2? Oh that's right, there are no musical episodes in season 1. Stick to what got you here and keep developing the characters. I am very disappointed with the direction this show has gone.

A Charming Show

Took me a few episodes in to figure out what's up with show. It's charming and the acting is decent but for some reason it just doesn't shine.

That's when I got it. Even one is toned down. They act like normal people from the adults being responsible to the teens... well, acting like normal teens.

The music is subtle so you end up with something more down toned . I think you could have have gone more dramatic considering this is a show about magic and directed at kids. As is though it's more under-rated filler than anything special.

Good for young children, less enchanting for others...

The Premise is typical: human see something they're not supposed to, and that, is, of course, magical beings. Confusion and chaos when the human being gets involved.

It seems the writing was purposely scripted for those 12 and under. Unfortunately, the acting is pretty poor, even allowing that it's a silly sorcerer's-apprentice type magical series. All the spells the young people cast don't work (I imagine it improves later: I couldn't get past episode 2 with any true enthusiasm), and they have to turn to their mentor. The human being, of course, who was never supposed to see magic, turns out to be the most inventive one - and also the most mature one!

I do wonder why casting picks actors who are clearly unconvincing, and, if you closed your eyes, you'd think them just any other 14 or 15 year old who lives in, say, Peoria, Illinois.

I think magic shows should be a bit more...magical. This is rather ordinary; it has none of the magic of say, The Wizard of Oz, or Harry Potter, or The Sorcerer's Apprentice, or...come to think of it, anything that requires a good script, the abililty to believe you've come to a magical land, or anything like that.

Parody or Real ?

I just finished the pilot episode, and I still don't know if this is supposed to be a parody, or an actual series. The casting is meh, visual effects are horrible, the story so far is pretty straightforward with no unnecessary narration or beating around the bush, character development so far is very minimal with linear progress, but I won't complain, since I've only seen 1 episode. Not sure if I'm gonna keep on watching, might give it another chance.

Yes, it's silly, but it's also so much fun!

My son (18) and I are really enjoying this. Yes, it's predictable and silly, but it's also very entertaining! We can't wait for season 2!

Light but likeable

If you like series like The Worst Witch, you'll like The Bureau of Magical Things. Kyra Glen is a likeable heroine -- a teenage girl whose life is changed after an encounter with a magic book is thought to have transformed her into a "triling": part human, part fairy and part elf.

The series is not Harry Potter -- it lacks the heavy evils present in that franchise, and it lacks the darkness that pursues Harry throughout his school career. Kyra has to contend with her new powers not interfering with her everyday life, mostly surrounding her ever-patient stepdad, and Peter, her schoolfriend who is ever-suspicious of the magic happening around them.

It should be okay for small kids -- there are few scary scenes, and no violence or bad language - yet, it's imaginative enough to keep entertaining, and the main characters are sufficiently likeable to keep you watching.

A very moderate show.

Don't get me wrong, I love watching this show and it's quite entertaining at times. However, it does have one fatal flaw. The main character is an ultimate mary sue. She has no noticeable flaws and no character traits that makes her stand out, which is probably why I found the side characters much more interesting. What's more, there's no actual training for her orb powers (like when she first got her magical powers). She just somehow masters it? I understand that it's a kids show but theres other kids shows (such as wizards of waverly place) which was a lot older, yet wrote the series of magic better than this show.

Excellent family-friendly show

You don't get many chances to see a show like this it really fills a void. It's fun, it's quick, it's easy to digest and kids will love it. There's absolutely nothing to hate about this show. Too bad covid-19 interviewed but maybe there will be more seasons later. Give it a chance it's worth it. The young actors are very good in their roles and they fit perfectly.

Worst acting I've seen in a long time.

Could be a fun show but the casting is terrible. Terrible ham acting by almost the entire cast.
