David Duchovny Had His Doubts About The X-Files Initially

Over the course of nine years on television, "The X-Files" received 62 Emmy nominations and 16 awards. Everything from the acting to the writing was praised in the show's original series run from 1993 to 2002. So it may be surprising to hear that lead actor David Duchovny was unsure whether or not the science-fiction drama series would be widely accepted, let alone cherished for decades to come.

Duchovny starred as FBI agent Fox Mulder, an unconventional and open-minded special agent who works specifically on the X-Files, cases that involve paranormal and unexplained phenomena. Not very well-respected in the bureau, Mulder is assigned a skeptic partner by the name of Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson). Her clinical skepticism was applied to Mulder's cases in order to offer alternative theories to paranormal conclusions. Alien Invasion: Hudson Valley, the latest installment of discovery+’s Shock Docs franchise, opens with the disclaimer: “Now that the U.S. government can no longer deny the existence of UFOs, eyewitnesses feel emboldened to share their stories.” The residents of Pine Bush, in the heart of Hudson Valley, New York, can no longer take the undeniable. They are fed up with it. Aliens are a nuisance, let’s face it, especially when you’ve got “an alien highway” in your basement.

Area 51 has an excuse for its reputation, being government controlled and heavily secure. The Hudson Valley wants to be Roswell East. Just north of New York City, they’ve logged more UFO complaints than any other area in the world, bugging Mufon, the world’s largest civilian UFO investigative organization, with 3,000 extraterrestrial encounter reports in the past 10 years alone. But the reports go back over 100 years, the two-hour special documentary points out.

A locksmith's life takes a turn into deadly territory after he finds a mysterious creature in The Arbors, and ahead of the film's March 26th VOD release via Gravitas Ventures, we've been provided with an exclusive clip to share with Daily Dead readers!

Directed by Clayton Witmer from a screenplay by Witmer and Chelsey Cummings, The Arbors stars Drew Matthews, Ryan Davenport, Sarah Cochrane, Daryl Munroe, Lexi Rose, and Brooks Addis.

Synopsis: "Set against a dreary small town, The Arbors follows Ethan Daunes, a reclusive locksmith struggling to keep ties with his younger brother, Shane. Ethan's life takes an unsettling turn after finding a strange small creature and forming a mysterious connection. After a string of unexplained killings, the creature's true nature is soon revealed, and Ethan finds himself at the center of panic and paranoia."

Straight up? I hate crawly things. Save me jeebus I got the aracnaphobia bad. You throw Lovecraft into the mix? I'm out! I'm going to complete this article but you'll be hard pressed to get me to watch The Arbors based on what I've just seen in this trailer. All nopes, all the time.   Mission accomplished Mr. Clayton Witmer. Your trailer has preyed upon my natural fear of things with too many legs. Holy jumpin - !!!   TriCoast Entertainment have secured the worldwide rights for Clayton Witmer's sci-fi/thriller The Arbors and will represent the film at EFM next month.
