Third wheel

Promising plot but eventually goes nowhere. A committed couple that's been engaged forever with no wedding bells on sight have an eventual night. There's massages, raunchy in laws, hooker's, a gay bar all leading up to a three some. Within that hidden insecurities as is the norm is brought to the fore... Could have been really promising but eventually falls flat.

Please

There's been many movies where you think "how can this be so stupid "and sometimes and I mean sometimes,it ends up being funny- this isn't one of them. Subtle comedy has its place but you must laugh occasionally. Never laughed once.

It Makes A Full Recovery

After an awkward opening this film takes a funny turn, plot and dialogue. There's some really good laughs and poignant moments that make it worth a watch. Just be patient, and it will work itself out.

Predictable and unfunny

There seems to be this weird sub genre in adult comedies that I'll call "bored couple wants to spice things up", and it always inevitably plays out the same: A seemingly "normal" couple with a bored sex life attempt to spice things up by bringing in "a 3rd", so to speak, and nothing works out as planned in the end.

These films always play out the same way: Their end-goal becomes increasingly difficult due to unseen comedic forces until the pursuit itself impacts their relationship. The couple "learn things about each other" and decide their original quest was a bad idea. Roll credits.

That's not to say these films can't be good, it's all about the quality of the jokes during "the pursuit" that decides that. Unfortunately in this film the jokes fall flat, I'm not sure I came close to laughing the entire time. Also, there was character behavior that was really cliched in an annoying way.

For example, the character played by Lucy Hale was about as unrealistic of a portrayal of a human being as I think I've ever seen. Humans don't act that way.

Ultimately though the film fails because it is just a collection of unfunny skits loosely tied together, and "sex comedies" with no actual sex or nudity are just a tease, and nobody likes a tease.

a bit corny

The unicorn really delves with an issue that many couples have considered ( as a triage when the wed is dedd in the bed) ,thought of, played with or simply not liked it at all. and i am also quite sure that many couples have had or will have or get the opportunity to have the discussion of or quarel about or even just get the chance to dive into a menage a troix or threesome or trike or triathlon or cross country or whatever. its volvo kosher avekmoi cissoir on the menu, you can choose between bbg or ggb, or ggg or bbb if your lgbtq. and then you can start deliberating, and i guess thats the worst part.

and this film gives 90% of the answers and prblematic issues connected to this bodyclustering phenomena. its not overly funny acted, but it gives a vivid insight to the term. the main actors are very truthful in the act, a less experienced actor wouldve shown all the signs of discomfort gig(-olo)ling away the dollars in repetetiv shoots of laughter, so well done.

the language spoken here are pretty rude english, the f-word are commonly used, and it sort of breaks the ice, else the writing are good,so are the plot and the cinematography. great use of deep and shallow focus, that carries the story a level higher than usual. its also very colorful in the costumes make up and props, and delivers till the end.

shall you try it out too, well then ask henry first, and thereafter do take the advice from the grumpy old man, still married even without a treesome, cause he recommends it

Terrible excuse for a film

I don't think I could have cared any less about these characters. They want to have a threesome because they are bored with each other. The main guy is especially insufferable. I couldn't wait for his face to leave the screen. Lucy Hale gets two scenes, and they are awful. Nothing about this was remotely funny. This should have never been written.

Communication is healthy, laugh and learn

Good watch, will likely watch again, and can recommend.

It a great little "self discovery" trope with a great twist of it being a couple that grows.

It has ups and downs, lots of humor, and just a enough dramatization to make you feel for the characters.

Lauren Lapkis is amazing, and Lucy Hale makes a fun cameo.

Most couples that are into sexual exploration don't do it all in one night, and get kicked the entire time, but hell is it entertaining.

It reminds a little of "Duplex", but with a little more focus than is healthy.

As lame as it gets

I was exited for this movie for a long time, but when I finally watched it it turned out to be a great disappointment. Both actors and their characters are bland and one dimensional, you really don't care if they have their threesome or not. The storyline has no point, the characters just stumble from one scene to another and there are literally 14 scenes in the entire movie and 6 of them were in a stupid car(yes I counted).

The message that this movie wants to send to the audience is that its OK if a woman cheats on a man, he just got to suck it up and love her.

Threesome

I usually am biased towards men in stories or more likely to understand and get on the side of men. Not always of course, but like with Kramer vs. Kramer to name one, I was fully invested with Dustin Hoffmans character. I think that makes sense for most. In this case, not just because of Lauren Lupkus, I have to admit, I am almost entirely on her side, when arguments arise.

Of course, she plays a character so I'm obviously talking about the character she portrays and the same goes for her male co star. Having said that and back to my summary word: that's the German title of the movie. I guess to make it easier to digest and more accessible to audiences. I guess that makes sense. The movie is quite interesting and funny. It does have flaws, but considering the fine line it walks between being (trying to be) sexy and being funny, it really works quite well. Add to that a drama element and it is quite the hill this has to arise ... I mean climb over. Not perfect by any sense, but with the right actors to yank it ... I mean pull it off! Stay throughout the credits for some outtakes (you could tell they had fun, here's the video evidence)

So, so hard to watch

I actually really Lauren Lapkus and the trailer was appealing... so yeah I was looking forward to this. It was truly insufferable! Just awkward and not funny. And lame. Just lame. Every character is unlikable and unsexy in their own unique way, I nearly gave up watching halfway through.

Lets add more rubbish into the Bi-Erasing Biphobic landscape of Visual media

This movie manages to capture everything wrong with monosexuals who think Bisexuality is a fetish or something to use as a heterosexual marital aide the acting is banal , bland and beyond boring give it a miss , Sharknado is a much better movie than this dribble

Could a movie be more stupid than this one?

This is about as bad as it can get. The "Unicorn" is pure clap trap and just to catch some innocents who will fall for it. The two lead actors about as hot as a pair of used socks who haven't seen a washing machine for years. These two nitwits will need an awful lot of money to hire an unicorn, because everyone else would avoid these two ugly bores like the Corona virus.

Hilarious

Subtle facial expressions and music choice alone cracked me up. I got a bit bored towards the fighting end, but I do with every movie.

Way funnier than I expected

Based on the reviews, I didn't have high hopes but it was really funny! There was more subtle humor than I expected, which really makes it for me. I don't know what people expect from comedies now days but if you want to laugh and not take things so seriously for an hour and half, I highly recommend this movie.
