Haunt is a 2019 release that explores the darkest side of extreme haunted attractions here is the Haunt ending explained. The film follows a group of friends on Halloween night looking to attend something unique. They find a flier for an "extreme" haunted attraction and go together. Harper is going through relationship problems with an abusive boyfriend and has endured a traumatic past due to her parents' marital struggles, where abuse is also implied. She reluctantly attends, under pressure that this sort of event will take her mind away from the situation with her boyfriend.
In one of the best haunted attraction movies, they all are forced to sign a waiver. It is explicit in saying that they may undergo extreme situations and incur bodily harm. However, even though this is meant to be a red flag, the majority are skeptical of how dangerous this situation might be and decide it's part of the act.

Since watching it with my friends at our annual Scary Movie Marathon years ago, The Houses October Built has been one of my favorite found footage horror films, perfectly encapsulating the "wait, is this real?" vibe of The Blair Witch Project and infusing it into the world of real-life scare attractions throughout autumnal America. This year marks one decade since The Houses October Built was released, and its approach to immersive horror is even more timely now that when it first graced screens back in 2014 and introduced viewers to Brandy, Zack, Bobby, Mikey, and Jeff, a quintet of thrill-seekers filming a documentary on haunted attractions who gradually get pulled into the wicked web of Blue Skeleton: a haunt that is extremely immersive and more real than they could ever imagine.
But that is only one iteration of the film that many horror fans like myself know and love. There...

Who you gonna call? For decades, it didn’t seem like anyone. Following the blockbuster success of 1984’s Ghostbusters and its less well-received yet still financially winning 1989 follow-up, Ghostbusters II, a third film in the franchise should’ve been inevitable. So why didn’t happen for more than 30 years?
While offshoots like the Ghostbusters video games, comic books and especially the animated series The Real Ghostbusters (1986-1991) kept the brand alive, and even thriving to some extent over the years, it was 27 years before a new theatrical film–Paul Feig’s much-maligned all-female reboot in 2016–arrived in theaters. And it was a further five years before Ghostbusters: Afterlife, billed as the first direct sequel to the original pair of films on a big screen, found its way to theaters.
Yet all during that time, multiple attempts at a third official Ghostbusters movie–many of them spearheaded by self-styled keeper of...

Happy Halloweekend, dear readers! The best weekend of the year has finally arrived, and I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to indulge in all sorts of spooky shenanigans over the next few days. For this Halloween edition of “From Streams to Screams,” I decided to focus on horror movies that have come out in the last few years that would be perfect to enjoy while celebrating the arrival of Halloween.
If you’re anything like me, I tend to focus a lot on my favorite horror movies throughout the month of October to feed my nostalgia. So this year, I’ve been trying to check out some recent horror movies I may have missed in an effort to broaden my horizons a bit. With that in mind, I put together a list of 25 recent horror films that are currently streaming that should either deliver up some thrills and chills,...

Collaboration is at the very heart of Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen’s partnership under the “Hold My Beer” name, refined over 15 years or so of live performances and expertly distilled on the friendly duo’s 2015 debut album. But there’s an entirely new type of collaboration on the Texas singer-songwriters’ Hold My Beer, Vol. 2 — one that stretches back across a generation of country-music history and includes the iconic voice of Waylon Jennings.

Shared universes seem to be all the rage these days, and today we have word on another one in the works. This time it will be a shared universe of horror films based on reimagined versions of classic fairytales and public domain characters from Circle of Confusion, the production company behind The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead.
The first film in the series will be A Wicked Tale, which is described as a contemporary horror take on the classic Brothers Grimm tale, Hansel & Gretel. This flick is based on an original script written by Pay The Ghost and I.T. screenwriter Dan Kay that tells the tale of two college students who stumble upon something sinister in the local woods after an altercation with a fellow student leads to deadly consequences.

Happy 2018, dear readers! With a new year comes a new batch of home entertainment releases, even if we only have a relatively quiet week of titles to look forward to. Scream Factory is kicking off 2018 right with their Collector’s Edition of Hell Night, and Umberto Lenzi’s Seven Blood Stained Orchids is getting a brand new Blu as well. If you missed it last fall, The Houses October Built 2 comes home this week, and cult film fans should keep an eye out for Miss Zombie from Redemption Films, too.
Other January 2nd releases include Bigfoot Country, Dystopia, Anna, Death Island Paranormal Retribution, No Solicitors, and The Body Tree.
Hell Night (Scream Factory, Blu/DVD Combo)
As an initiation rite into Alpha Sigma Rho fraternity, four pledges must spend a night in Garth Manor, twelve years to the day after the previous resident murdered his entire family. Two of the pledges,...

Found footage may not be a theatrical sensation anymore (if it ever really was), but the genre is alive and well on the VOD market. Well, alive at least. In 2014, The Houses October Built quickly became a modern cult hit among horror fans, and now the entire team has returned for a sequel that features the same of haunt enthusiasts (Bobby Roe, Zack Andrews, Brandy Schaefer, Mikey Roe, and Jeff Larson) who set out to profile a new batch of scare-minded attractions, only to find themselves on the run from the infamous “Blue Skeleton” group that left them traumatized after some terrifying Halloween shenanigans the year prior.

As we inch closer to Halloween 2017 with each passing day, that means another month is upon us and that we have a new crop of horror and sci-fi VOD and digital releases coming our way over the next four weeks. September kicks off with a pair of releases on the 1st—Temple and The Vault—and the Tuesday after Labor Day will play host to three different titles, too, including The Atoning, The Basement, and Revelator.
September 8th is another busy day, with Anti Matter, Circus Kane, and The Limehouse Golem all making their digital bows, and the 12th boasts five different films arriving that day—Baby Driver, 47 Meters Down, Clowntergeist, The Hatred, and The Prison.
As if all that wasn’t enough, look for the Garbage Pail Kids Story doc on the 20th, and both The Houses October Built 2 and Welcome to Willits arrive on the 22nd. The...

As a fan of Halloween and going to lots of Halloween haunted attractions during the month of October, I really enjoyed the 2014 horror film The Houses October Built. Well, there's a sequel that's been made and today we have a trailer for you to watch! If you enjoyed the first movie then chances are you'll like you see in this trailer. It looks like it will be fun horror flick to watch during the Halloween season! Here's the synopsis for The Houses October Built 2:
Five friends try to recover from the trauma of being kidnapped last Halloween by the Blue Skeleton – a group who takes “extreme haunt” to another level – by facing their fears in order to move on. As they go back out on the road to experience more haunted house attractions, signs of the Blue Skeleton start appearing and a new terror begins…

It doesn't take much for a low-budget horror movie to earn a sequel these days and a lot of the time, those sequels aren't all that great. That being the case, The Houses October Built 2 is getting a sequel. But if you aren't totally tired of found footage horror movies yet, this may be right up your alley and could be one of the rare, cheap horror sequels that actually delivers. The Houses October Built 2 is coming and the first trailer is here to bring back the Blue Skeleton for more haunted house thrills that are a bit too real.
Rlje has released the first trailer for The Houses October Built 2, which proves that people who manage to survive a horror movie can't help but get dragged back for some more. The cast for the sequel includes the entire, core ensemble from the first movie with Brandy Schaefer,...
