YouTube is clearing its deck, as the service gets ready to unveil its new original programming plans. As part of the spring cleaning of sorts, YouTube series “Champaign Ill,” “Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television,” “Sideswiped,” and “Do You Want to See a Dead Body” won’t be back.

Those shows join previously confirmed cancelled series “Overthinking with Kat & June,” “Youth & Consequences,” and “Origin.”

YouTube isn’t completely wiping down the mat, however. Breakout hit “Cobra Kai” is back for Season 2 on April 24, and “Step Up: High Water,” currently in its second season, continues to perform well for the service. Also, comedy “Liza on Demand,” starring Liza Koshy, and sci-fi drama “Impulse” are both in production for their sophomore releases.

Meanwhile, YouTube hasn’t yet revealed the fates of comedy “Wayne,” which premiered in January, and anthology series “Weird City,” which launched in February.

YouTube will unveil its new originals distribution strategy,...

The stars of “Veronica Mars” have reunited to campaign for another season.

“The network is apparently finally considering bringing back our beloved show,” Kristen Bell begins their video, which was posted to YouTube on Thursday, “but it’s going to take something very special to push them over the edge.”

“Clever stunt campaigns have always been such a huge part of getting a show renewed,” her co-star Ryan Hansen explains, citing “Family Guy” as the lone example he can come up with.

Ryan Hansen, Samira Wiley Lead YouTube Red’s Send-Up Of Cop Shows, Due Out October 25
While it is still offering film and series distribution deals to online video stars, the subscription platform YouTube Red has also dipped its toes into the world of Hollywood, and one of its Hollywoodiest projects so far now has an official release date. Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes On Television, in which the titular Veronica Mars co-star will parody himself, police procedurals, and many of his colleagues in the acting world, is due out on October 25.

In the world of Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes On Television, the Lapd has assigned actors to its units in order to see if their skills can have any practical use in the field. Hansen will play a fictionalized version of himself who offers little to the police force beyond flippant comments. Samira Wiley, known for her roles in Orange is the New Black and The Handmaid's Tale, will deadpan her way through a role as Hansen's straight-laced shooting partner.
