Went to see this film last night and I am totally shocked to see every review on here is 8,9 or 10 stars.
The movie is very unremarkable and forgettable, the plot didn't add up in a few places and there were quite a few things included in the movie that didn't add anything to the story line whatsoever.
Although, it is light-hearted and there are a few funny parts.
Kierston Wareing's character of the washed up party animal mum desperately trying to keep her son by her side to cope with her abandonment issues was the highlight for me. Although Tommy French plays the part of the exhausted son, embarrassed by his mum's flirting very well. The duo's acting almost redeemed the far-fetched plot.

Brilliant pacy comedy, I can see this becoming a classic. What really amazed me the most was that a Spanish director living in London 3 years could write and direct a film so British in its humour.
Well done fella!
I mean come on! anyone claiming to eve be able to sit through this without cringing for everyone involved is lying. You'll have more fun at a hospice.
I stumbled upon the 2018 comedy "I Love My Mum" here in 2022, without ever having heard about the movie. So I didn't know what I was in for here, as I sat down to watch what writer and director Alberto Sciamma had to offer.
However, I must say that I liked the synopsis, because it sounded like a fun movie. And of course, with it being a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to watch it.
Sure, "I Love My Mum" was watchable, but it wasn't as funny as I had hoped it was, based on the synopsis. It seemed that the storyline was somewhat scarce on the amount of funny situations and comedy, which the synopsis otherwise seemed to present.
The acting in the movie was good, with leading actress Kierston Wareing and leading actor Tommy French carrying the movie quite well. It was definitely a nice treat to see Dominique Pinon in the movie as well.
"I Love My Mum" wasn't as funny as I had hoped, so this is hardly a comedy that I would recommend for fans of the comedy genre. Nor is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time.
It should be noted, though, that the ending of the movie was quite a surprise twist of events.
My rating of "I Love My Mum" lands on a four out of ten stars.

This has to be the dumbest movie I have ever seen. The movie plays out like it was written by a drunk monkey. Most of my friends walked out. Couldn't even finish this pile of garbage.
I should have just slammed my fingers in the car door because that would have had so much more fun than this horrible disaster. The plot was completely stupid and full of holes. The acting was embarrassing and the writing is so bad that I have no words to describe it.
Don't waste your time with this abortion of an Indie film.
