Sahher Bambba and Karan Deol in Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas (2019)

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas

Breathtaking and top notch cinematography with weak story and screenplay

At last the third generation of Deol's came on screen. I would like to give special mention to the director of photography and director's (Sunny Deol's) determination to shoot some of the most beautiful, tough and scenic places of Manali which we used to see in foreign locations. First half is really a visual treat to the audience and in second half when film shifts from Manali to Delhi and pick up the pace. Music is original and ear pleasing unlike today's remix and rap routine noise. Coming to the performances both Karan Deol and Sahher Bambba tried their best as a newcomers Karan as shy, introvert and soft spoken hiker and guide seems cute adorable, vulnerable and innocent he performed some of the most difficult stunts of rock climbing with utmost sincerity and dedications and he excels in action sequences but he has to work really very hard on his expressions and voice modulation if he has to compete with their peers like Aayushmaan, Vickey Kaushal etc. Sahher on the other hand seems quite natural confident and innocent she has shown wide range of emotions which is really praiseworthy for debutante she has such a good screen presence that no body will be surprised that she will get some good projects in near future both look good and cute together. But story is the big letdown of this movie I don't know why did a seasoned Actor/Director like Sunny Sir chose a weak, routine story like this for the debut film for his own son he tried really very hard to give a fresh contemporary feel to the movie his hard work and vision shows in the first half of the movie he captured some of most beautiful locations which was a very difficult task but the weak story and screenplay didn't give any chance to lift the momentum of the movie in any place on the whole this is a one time watch movie which you can see with your family.

Visually stunning Film but weak (storyline, screenplay n Acting of Karan Deol).

After Dillagi and Ghayal Once Again, Sunny Deol returns to direction for the third time with Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas

The first thing that grabs your attention about Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is that it's a visually good Movie.,, action is good too.

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is probably Sunny's most technically sound film till date as a director but it is definitely his weakest of the lot as a whole product.

Karan Deol,, he looks good on-screen and has a child-like innocence but he really needs to work hard on his acting skills.

Sahher Bambba is good.

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is a visually stunning film with some good tunes but the movie somehow misses the mark due to its mediocre screenplay.

Sahher Bambba impresses.

Torturous movie with bad acting and no story

This film has no reason for existing. The story is boring and has been done a million times before in this exact iteration (lonely guy meets his manic pixie dream girl. They separate, realize they're in love, and conflict appears as a mean family member or in this case an ex).

The two leads are utterly awful. The film has been entirely designed to "launch" the next gen Deol who neither has looks, charm, talent, or acting prowess. His entire look is somehow dated and cheesy. His dialogue delivery is embarrassing. You wonder how his father directed him and either did not realized or hoped no one works notice. The female lead is actually a little better but has limited scope.

The music is weak, the title track is decent though. The locales are beautiful and possibly the only redeeming quality of the film. Direction is poor- the pacing is slow, the storyline doesn't move, the acting is lack luster.

By skipping this film, you're voting with your dollars to stop these terrible films from being made simply to introduce someone's child who is devoid of talent.

A good travel documentary for first hour & some minutes.

I fail to understand why this movie was made. Sunny Deol started off with a nonexistent story for the debut of his son. There is nothing much to write about this movie. Running time of pain stricken 2 hours and 34 minutes in which the audience are wondering! are they watching a travel documentary during the first 1 hour and 20 minutes.

This is a brave attempt to waste a lot of money from the producer of the movie and the audience who watched.

This movie has nothing to talk about. The lead actors are appalling and the supporting cast equally bad. Karan Deol only resembles his father rest has no charisma about him. Sahher Bammba looks out of place and sincerely is not a very good choice as the female lead of this movie.

The screenplay is shoddy and the climax is executed in hurry. Sunny's last venture as a director Ghayal once again showed promise but this movie is very disappointing and waste of money and time.

Its high time Bollywood take cognizance of the fact that content is the king now. You cannot expect the audience to watch such slog any more.

Absolute Piffle!

#FinalVerdict

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is a SNOOZEFEST without any story or so. Neither Sunny Deol's direction nor Jasvinder Singh Bath-Ravi Shankar's screenplay/dialogues have the potential to offer anything new.

Set in and around Manali majorly, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is targeted at the youth but every single teenager who would watch it will be insulting their own intelligence. It will be taught in film schools, every year, on the topic - How To Make a Really Bad Film! Though the songs are the sole saving grace (Sachet Tandon-Parampara Thakur, Tanishk Bagchi & Rishi Rich), the plot line is incapacitated, imbecile & extremely dumb. Director Sunny Deol plays in to every stereotype about the youth under the sun but failed miserably! Yes, the cinematography (Himman Dhamija-Ragul Dharuman) is top-notch, which gives the feel of a lavish Bollywood affair. The DOPs swathe the viewers by capturing the lush locales of Himachal Pradesh with finesse. Marvellous! Devendra Murdeshwar's editing is an utter doom, with the movie clocking in at 152 minutes. The pace dips & goes up hand in hand. I have a tendency to repress traumatic memories. The direction is even more puerile, with the storyline going haywire.

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas has nil novel/fetching/affectionate (for a love story to be) factor. One wonders for a prudent actor a la Sunny Deol to have come up with such odious plot, that too for the launch of his son. The background score is a sore to the ear. Be it the debutant Karan Deol, who isn't ready yet to deliver or the debutante Sahher Bambba, who though is photogenic & in high spirits, should have performed as side actors first, then they would have been working as main leads. Aakash Ahuja is alright. One wonders, what made such actors of calibre sign this movie as Sachin Khedekar and Simone Singh. Kamini Khanna, Nupur Nagpal, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Vijayant Kohli, Meghna Malik, Reuben Israe & Mannu Sandhu are all wasted. The makers have taken them for granted.

To sum up, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is a pejorative damp squib from such a putative production house (Zee Studios & Sunny Super Sound). An out and out/staunch let-down in terms of acting, direction, plot line, dialogues and editing. Stay clear, period!

One more strike against Star Kids!!!

Famous Grandpa, Famous Dad...and there ends any more fame....If just being cute, earnest and passable was ok for 10s of Crores to be spent on a movie, then any one of us has a chance to be in the movies ... Ordinary story, ordinary dialogues, and honestly really sad acting by Karan Deol!! Dialogue delivery is bad, his eyes are distracting...i thought he was playing visually challenged most of the movie ( with no disrespect to the visually challenged). Goofy smile... Weak looking Villain....No obvious reason for the.... stalking and other related shaming.....When a Producer spends so much money on locales... then why not divert some to the story writer, teaching, diction and camera angles coaching to the hero....feel really bad for Karan....he has no business in the film industry if he doesn't his very apparent flaws.... Actress was passable....Best actors were the parents!!!!

Awesome locations worth your money

Never shown before footage of mountain climbing (only saw it in Hollywood movies) Sunny deserves credit for it. Acting wise the new actors will learn slowly. Music was not catchy at all. Should have hired Pritam. Storyline could have been better. More emphasis should have been given to the hero's parents to show bonding. Their interaction is too limited.

Photography is stunning. Sunny's direction is adequate. Kunal needs to take more acting classes and the heroine is not an excellent beauty to be chosen from among 400?. The car race was great short of brilliant. I was not bored but took breaks during songs.

Be Far Far Away From This Movie

Nepotism at its best. A sitting MP who been elected to do work for public is busy in launching his son whose pathetic acting skills confirms that actors son has it easy in Bollywood because here Merit doesn't counts. Flop Movie.

Nice movie keep it up!!

Yes, really nice movie of emotional, comedy, thrill. I loved way of making movie. Specially, hero has performed very nice calm character compared to heroin. Ya, but heroin has also took big role in end of the movie.

Hero will have good future in similar character and angry youngman. Really, greatly captured every moment with atmosphere and location of india.

I truly appreciate your work... Keep ahead littel sunny boy...

Masterpiece

What an Epic movie from a legendary actor Karan Deol. Best debut performance ever. Definitely better than the greats like De Niro,Al Pacino , Hanks. Took method acting to next level, move aside Day-Lewis and Bale. Movie has a gripping story and keeps you engaged. Better than Godfather. Simply Masterclass.

Same old Bollywood story

Basically a mountain trainer and a social media influencer fall in love and same old Bollywood drama with no logic and worst direction. The only thing is music which is great other than the movie is crap.I think this movie can't even do great business where movies like dream girl and chhichore are it's competitors.

Boring movie

One of the most boring movie I have watched ever in my life. Saw only blank face on the hero and nothing else. I was just just waiting for the movie to get over so I can get out of there.

Nothing to do with acting but they are Actors

What a crap, it's such a shame on us and oir culture that many sense less actor gets acting offer because of the stupid audience who are a fan of their parents,These idiots deserve hell.what's the point of supporting someone just because you like his ancestors the slavery is in their blood. The guy in this movie can't act leave it he's dialogues delivery is such ridiculous that you would laugh even on a action plot poor dialogues poor story.. 0.5/10

Pal Pal Dil se Durr

I watched this one because of the Deols , but I was extremely disappointed with it. Sunny could have launched his kid after making him learn the art of acting or he should have some other director do the job. Karan seriously needs acting classes. Sahher is also just average. Poor story made this one more poor.

Avoid it.

A good watch, loved second half.

First of all people who are giving 1 out of 10, they all are losers. They have nothing to do other than hating and negativity. People who are saying its loss of money, go check that movie is already in profit even before the launch.

I really enjoyed the movie. I go to cinema for entertainment and if a movie doesn't bore me, I give more than 7 stars.

Here is my review:

First half: It was decent. I really enjoyed locations and sahher bambba acting. Karan was okayish and need to improve his facial expressions and physique. He is new and a Deol, I am sure he will improve in future. I will give 8 out of 10 to the first half.

Second half: I loved this part. I am a big Sunny Deol fan and wanted to see that aggression and action from Karan. I will give 9 out of 10 to this one.

Plus point: Music is superb. Loved the title song.

The Kiddy Movie :D

I always knew that somewhere underneath the body that carries the iconic "dhai kilo ka haanth " lies the heart of the sweet child of Dharmendra.

Only a person who still plays with marbles, fights for them, gets hurt when someone cheats in a game, and then easily forgives with a simple "sorry" can make such an out of the world movie!

I read lot of reviews talking about bad acting, but did they expect an acting in the first place? I mean come on guys! People like you and me have some good surplus time and we are okay with running experiments on ourselves. This movie was one of those experiments.

I forgive everyone who thought, tried to make , and hoped this to be a movie.

When a big revenge sequence ends with a verbal "sorry", it means that the director knew somewhere while making the movie that he/she is just wasting his/her time.

The only reason why I have given it 2 stars is because of the honesty I feel in everyone associated with the movie:

1. Junior knows he can't act so he doesn't try!

2. Papa knew nothing's gonna work so he decided to give a sudden end to the movie!

3. The actress tried hard to act, but then went into coma! Better to keep quiet than scream (miss Sethi was noisy indeed) to nothing!

4. One true song (seene se tere) !

& this is a true review! I watched the complete movie in 3 parts and just forwarded that stupid punjabi dance number!

Simple Blissful Movie

Blissful movie for sure, the movie is about an adventure and how it changed the perspective of one's thinking. A simple Trek that can change anyone's perspective! Many of the youths don't prefer a smooth films like this. A simple trek a simple past of both and a trauma filled future ahead them. The storyline seems to be retro but the actor - actress duo pulls it out smoothly. Beautiful locations.. the songs are well placed. Simple movie and recommend for couples who love adventures... One time watch for sure.
