Nick Jonas, one of the famous siblings of the pop rock boy band The Jonas Brothers, has landed a role in the upcoming Kiss biopic. The artist is currently in negotiations to sign up for the musical project titled Shout It Out Loud, which is being directed by McG and written by Darren Lemke. Jonas is set to play Paul Stanley (known as the Starchild), Kiss' frontman, alongside Gene Simmons (a.k.a. the Demon).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, both Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons are involved in the music biopic, which is under development with the team at Universal Music that controls the rights related to the rock band's music. Jody Gerson and Bruce Resnikoff have joined Polygram's David Blackman as producers. STX Entertainment is the backing studio behind Shout It Out Loud. Other producers include McG, Mark Canton, Doc McGhee, Leigh Ann Burton, and Mary Viola.

In unexpected casting, Nick Jonas will apply the Starchild makeup and strap on the guitar to portray Paul Stanley in an upcoming Kiss biopic.

According to Deadline, Jonas will also provide his own vocals on Kiss’ Stanley-sung classics in Shout It Out Loud, an authorized, McG-directed biopic about the Rock Hall-inducted rock legends that is co-produced by Stanley and Gene Simmons.

Aaron Eckhart is heading to the sky. The fan-favorite actor, who has become a mainstay in the action genre in recent years, is set to star in the plane thriller Midair.

According to Deadline, Midair will begin filming this September from a screenplay written by George Mahaffey, who previously penned Eckhart's 2024 action thriller Chief of Station. "When a seasoned ex-CIA cargo pilot embarks on a crucial flight to celebrate his son’s birthday, he is thrust into a harrowing battle for survival as a rogue agent takes control of the plane. Universal Pictures has released an awesome new TV spot for Jurassic World Rebirth, teasing some of the most dangerous dinosaurs the franchise has ever put on screen.

In terms of what dangerous dinos we can expect, the trailers have teased that the fan-favorite Tyrannosaurus Rex will be front-and-center once again, this time finally taking part in the long-awaited riverboat chase, which is expected to be one of the film's standout sequences.

Universal Pictures has released a brand new featurette for their upcoming summer blockbuster Jurassic World Rebirth, featuring some never-before-seen new footage and revealing how the new film is more connected to the original than any of the previous sequels.

Outside of the main cast of characters returning to Isla Nublar - the island where the original film takes place - the most prominent way the film connects back to the original is by bringing back Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park scribe David Koepp.

In the new featurette, Koepp teases the T-Rex riverboat sequence, which promises to be one of the upcoming film's most thrilling moments and a scene that has has essentially been thirty years in the making.

The Mummy is set to rise from its tomb once again, with director Lee Cronin taking the helm of a new movie from Blumhouse/Atomic Monster. With production now underway in Ireland, the studio has announced that three new cast members have been added to the project.

Joining the previoulsy announced Jack Reynor and Laia Costa in the lead roles will be Veronica Falcón, May Calamawy, and May Elghety.

Falcón recently appeared in Blumhouse’s supernatural thriller Imaginary, directed by Jeff Wadlow, and also played “Trader Sam” opposite Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson in Disney’s Jungle Cruise. Other notable film credits include The Starling, Days of Grace, Voyagers opposite Colin Farrell, and The Forever Purge.

Netflix has become home to the 2019 war epic, Midway, which has been garnering popularity over the last few weeks. The film is based on the six months between WWII's infamous Pearl Harbor attack and the Battle of Midway that occurred around the Midway Atoll and was a turning point in the war that turned the tides in the U.S.'s favor. Roland Emmerich's Midway, which is a remake of Henry Fonda and Charlton Heston's movie of the same name, succeeds in paying tribute to the past by presenting multiple sides to the conflict, from the pains of strategy to the breathlessness of the sky.

Though we weren't aware of this until very recently, there's been growing online support for Brandon Sklenar to play the Dark Knight in the upcoming Dcu The Brave and the Bold Movie, and the fan campaign was recently given a major boost thanks to the actor's It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively sharing her endorsement.

Now, Sklenar has liked and commented on some fan-art depicting him as the Caped Crusader.

Despite speculation that The Batman star Robert Pattinson could end up jumping to the Dcu to play the legendary Gotham City vigilante in The Brave and the Bold, director Andy Muschietti confirmed that a new actor will be cast as the hero during a recent interview.

Coming off the success of his thrillingly nasty Evil Dead Rise revival (check out our review here), the Irish filmmaker was announced as director of an untitled horror project with a release date of April 17, 2026 earlier this year. Now, Blumhouse, Atomic Monster and Warner Bros. have revealed that it will actually be a new take on the classic Universal Monster.

Cronin will also pen the script.

CAA’s Roeg Sutherland is set to be honored with the Zurich Film Festival’s Game Changer Award for his outstanding achievements and contributions within the film industry.

The co-Head of CAA’s Media Finance department as well as its International Film Group, will be presented with the award during the festival’s industry-focused Zurich Summit, which takes place in October within the framework of the 20th Zurich Film Festival (Zff).

As part of the recognition, FilmNation Entertainment CEO Glen Basner will host the Game Changer Award recipient conversation, in which he will speak with Sutherland about his journey.

“Roeg is a passionate cinephile and industry leader, who has not only discovered, but also nurtured and developed the careers of countless artists.
