‘Severance’ stars Tramell Tillman and Zach Cherry are chasing Emmy history as the first Black Best Drama Supporting Actor winner
Image
In 2015, Viola Davis won the Best Drama Actress Emmy for How to Get Away with Murder, becoming the category's first Black winner. That left one acting category that had yet to produce a Black champ: Best Drama Supporting Actor. Ten years later, that remains the case — even the short-form acting categories, which were created in 2016 and consolidated into one in 2024, have awarded Black performers — but that could finally change in September with one of two Severance stars: Tramell Tillman or Zach Cherry.

Tillman and Cherry were among the seven supporting drama players tapped for nominations on Tuesday, alongside costar John Turturro, The White Lotus triumvirate of Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, and Sam Rockwell, and Paradise's president, James Marsden.

Neither Tillman nor Cherry was nominated for the first season in 2022, not surprising for unknown actors on a new show. With Severance leading all comers this year with 27 Emmy nominations, there's obvious industry support for the show,...

2025 Emmys outrage: Why your favorite genre shows like ‘Outlander,’ ‘Interview With the Vampire,’ and ‘Squid Game’ were snubbed
Image
The 2025 Emmy nominations present a curious case for genre television.

While sci-fi, horror, and fantasy hits like Severance, The Last of Us, and Andor received multiple nominations on Tuesday, many fan-favorite outside-the-box programs — think Outlander, Interview With the Vampire, Squid Game, The Wheel of Time, and Dark Winds — were snubbed in major categories by the Television Academy, resulting in social media outrage. So, what gives?

First, a bit of a backstory. Prior to 2005, Emmy-winning dramas almost always took place in police stations, hospitals, or courtrooms — yawn. But Lost changed all of that. ABC's science-fiction hit won Best Drama Series 20 years ago and opened the door for the fantastic to be taken seriously by the Television Academy. Game of Thrones continued the voters' newfound love affair with genre fare when it won Best Drama Series four times between 2015 and 2019. GoT was ineligible in 2017, which is when the dystopian The Handmaid's Tale prevailed.

‘Friday Night Lights’ Star Addresses Reboot Return Rumors [Exclusive]
Image
Apple TV+’s upcoming crime drama Smoke might be Jurnee Smollett’s latest chapter, but for longtime fans of quality TV, it’s hard to forget where she proved she was something special: Dillon, Texas. Before Lovecraft Country, Birds of Prey, and Underground, Smollett joined Friday Night Lights in Season 4 as Jess Merriweather, a fiercely determined teen with a mind for football and dreams of coaching. She quickly became one of the show’s most compelling late-game additions—and now, 13 years later, fans are wondering if she’d return for the reboot reportedly in the works.

In a recent interview with Collider’s Taylor Gates, Smollett addressed the speculation directly and didn’t hesitate to show love for her old Dillon family—especially showrunner, Jason Katims.

“I love Jason Katims, so if I was invited to, it would be an honor. In a heartbeat. I’d do anything with Jason Katims.

HBO Max Cancels 92% Rotten Tomatoes Hit Series After Only One Season
Image
HBO Max has canceled Duster after just one season, even though the crime drama got solid reviews from critics and viewers alike. The show, which starred Josh Holloway and was co-created by J.J. Abrams and Latoya Morgan, didn’t get enough attention from fans to stick around.

The news was first confirmed by Entertainment Weekly, and it marks the end of a highly anticipated reunion between Abrams and Holloway, who last worked together on Lost over 15 years ago.

In a statement shared with EW, HBO Max said, “While HBO Max will not be moving forward with a second season of Duster, we are so grateful to have had the chance to work with the amazingly talented co-creators J.J. Abrams and Latoya Morgan, and our partners at Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Television. We are tremendously proud of this series led by Josh Holloway and Rachel Hilson and we thank...

Charlize Theron
Victoria Mahoney will not return to direct if The Old Guard 3 happens
Charlize Theron
The Charlize Theron action film The Old Guard was a hit for the Netflix streaming service when it was released in 2020, but the sequel The Old Guard 2 has had an unexpectedly bumpy ride while making its way out into the world. It went into production back in 2022, and filming had to be halted briefly after a fire broke out at the film studio where the movie had been shooting; Rome, Italy’s historic Cinecittà Studios. Then there was a shake-up at Netflix during post-production, so the project got shut down for a while – and then there were reshoots. Theron was quoted as saying that it was back on track and coming soon last summer, but there was still another year left to wait. Now the movie is finally streaming (you can read our review Here)… which means it’s time to start talking about another sequel! But The Old Guard 2...

Charlize Theron and Uma Thurman help elevate ‘The Old Guard 2’, but critics want more action
Image
While the 2020 Netflix hit The Old Guard — directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood — was praised for its blend of action, mythology, and introspection, the sequel has received mixed reviews. Critics have commended the cast, especially the addition of Uma Thurman, but expressed disappointment over the film’s lack of dynamic action.

Based on the graphic novels by Gregory Rucka who also wrote both screenplays, the sequel directed by Victoria Mahoney picks up where the first left off, following Andy (Charlize Theron) and her team of undying warriors as they face new threats and deeper moral questions. Despite not possessing traditional superpowers, their ability to heal from any wound makes them nearly unstoppable. The new installment expands the lore, introduces fresh faces like Henry Golding and Thurman, and teases a wider mythology with a potential third chapter.

The New York Times praised the casting of Thurman as a bold, if underutilized, choice writing,...

Charlize Theron reveals her feelings on Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron is back in The Old Guard 2 from Netflix. However, one of her most iconic characters would be presented to the world in 2015 with Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road. Since the release of the film and the subsequent reaction, George Miller would be developing a Furiosa solo prequel, which Theron would not be in consideration for. Theron reacted by saying, “Yeah, it’s a little heartbreaking, for sure. I really love that character, and I’m so grateful that I had a small part in creating her. She will forever be someone I think of and reflect on fondly. Obviously, I would love to see that story continue, and if he feels like he has to go about it this way, then I trust him in that manner. We get so hung up on the smaller details that we forget the thing that we emotionally tap into...

Smoke Fans Need To Check Out This Taron Egerton True Crime Series Next
Image
Apple TV+ is known for great sci-fi shows and, frankly, for losing a ridiculous amount of money for Apple. However, speaking from a fan's point of view, the streaming service is a reliable port of call for just about every genre of well-produced, imaginative movies and series made by some of the best creators and actors in the game. From the amazing entertainment industry comedy "The Studio" to the literally mind-bending office hellscape of "Severance" and the scruffy spy shenanigans of "Slow Horses," the best TV shows on Apple TV+ offer plenty of bang for the viewer's buck, and the streamer is adding more stuff all the time.

The newest member of the Apple TV+ array of well-made shows is "Smoke," a nine-part arson drama from Dennis Lehane ("Shutter Island"). Drawing inspiration from the real-life crimes of serial arsonist John Leonard Orr and truth.media's "Firebug" podcast, "Smoke" stars Taron Egerton...

‘Kingsman’ Star’s, 35, Latest Apple TV+ Crime Drama Falls Short of His Previous 98% Rotten Tomatoes Series
Image
Not that long ago, star Taron Egerton and writer Dennis Lehane delivered one of the most acclaimed series on the Apple TV+ roster: the prison drama Black Bird. They've now reunited on the crime thriller Smoke, a nine-episode limited series in which Egerton plays an arson investigator who may or may not be entirely reliable as a protagonist. He's paired up with a detective, played by Jurnee Smollett, and together, they're tasked with tracking down a couple of fire-starters before things become too hot to handle. Unlike Black Bird, however, Smoke has debuted with a mediocre response from critics.

It currently holds a 68% score on Rotten Tomatoes, which is far lower than the 98% score that Black Bird is sitting on. The aggregator website's consensus reads, "Smoke obscures its appeal with coy plotting until it eventually lights a fire under its story, but commanding turns from Taron Egerton and Jurnee Smollett keep this drama watchable throughout.

Taron Egerton's Smoke Has A Big Twist That Will Leave Viewers Divided
Image
It probably goes without saying, but this article contains spoilers for "Smoke."

Where there's smoke, there's fire, and Apple TV+'s "Smoke" has a twist that will burn its audience just when they think they're safe on the other side of the fire line.

The series follows arson investigator Dave Gudsen, played by Taron Egerton, and detective Michell Calderon, played by Jurnee Smollett of "Lovecraft Country" and "Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)" fame, as they investigate a string of deadly arsons across the Pacific Northwest. Created by "Shutter Island" and "Gone Baby Gone" writer Dennis Lehane, the series is a psychological portrait of two broken people who could catch fire at any moment (in a figurative sense this time).

The show earned a mixed-to-positive reception ahead of its premiere, with some critics praising the performances in "Smoke" while others feel the series flames out...

Jurnee Smollett Never Runs Away From a Challenge — So She Transformed Herself for ‘Smoke’
Image
[This story contains spoilers from the first two episodes of Smoke, “Pilot” and “Your Happy Makes Me Sad.”]

Jurnee Smollett will never back away from a challenge; in fact, she thrives on it.

The 38-year-old actress, who first gained recognition as a child star in the ’90s with her roles in Eve’s Bayou, Full House and On Our Own, is always looking for ways to grow with her characters. She doesn’t want to ever be “pigeonholed as one type of thing,” she makes clear.

“Whether it was a superhero in DC Comics or Letitia-fucking-Lewis in [Lovecraft Country], or a lawyer in The Burial, or a single mom fighting to find her daughter in Lou, I’m so fortunate that I get to step into all these different professions,” Smollett tells The Hollywood Reporter.

In her latest role, she’s now taking what she says is an even more “complex” and “flawed” character. In the Apple TV+ series Smoke she plays Michelle,...

Smoke Series Premiere Review: This Summer’s Apple TV+ Mystery Thriller Is Smoldering Hot
Image
Every year, Apple TV+ releases a mystery thriller.

Two years ago, we reviewed The Crowded Room, which initially left something to be desired; last year, we reviewed Disclaimer, which also had its issues.

However, there are improvements, and with this summer thriller, Smoke, the streamer pulled all the stops.

(Robert Falconer/Apple TV+)

The two-episode season premiere introduces the characters and the general story.

Taron Egerton, like many film actors nowadays, ventures into the small screen, and Smoke is his latest effort.

His co-star, Jurnee Smollett, is seasoned in TV and film. It’s great to see her back on the small screen after HBO canceled Lovecraft Country, a pandemic show where she truly shone.

‘Smoke’ Review: Jurnee Smollett and Taron Egerton Lead Apple TV+’s Flawed but Fascinating Firefighting Mystery
Image
I’m sure I have, at some point, referred to Jurnee Smollett as a “fiery” actress. The Lovecraft Country and Friday Night Lights star does wild-eyed, fierce intensity in a way that is both captivating and reliable.

But this is getting a bit ridiculous.

Smollett got to stand just on the outside of the unconvincing climactic CGI fire in last year’s otherwise exceptional feature, The Order. Before that, she acted opposite burning crosses (Lovecraft Country) and torches (Underground). Now she gets full inferno immersion in Apple TV+’s new drama series, Smoke, an extraordinarily well-acted, formally inconsistent adaptation of the podcast Firebug.

At nine episodes, the Dennis Lehane-created show is too long and frustratingly repetitive, but it unfurls a fascinating mystery, features one of the summer’s best ensemble casts and floats big ideas that don’t always come through cleanly in the execution.

Smollett plays Michelle Calderon,...

Jude Law and Jason Bateman Star in Netflix's New Crime Drama Mini Series As Brothers in Harm
Image
Jude Law and Jason Bateman are brothers in big trouble in the first look at Black Rabbit. The duo will play brothers who get wrapped up in the seamy side of New York City's clubland in the new drama. It was created by Zach Baylin (King Richard) and Kate Susman (The Order). The series will premiere on Netflix on September 18, 2025.

In the new images, Law plays Jake Friedken, the owner of Black Rabbit, the successful restaurant and VIP lounge of the title. It's on the verge of becoming the hottest spot in New York when his long-estranged brother, Vince (Bateman) comes back to town, bringing trouble with him. The images show off a grimy side of New York, as well as the contracting looks of the brothers: Law is neat and composed, while Batman is uncharacteristically long-haired and bearded. The series also stars Cleopatra Coleman (Infinity Pool), Amaka Okafor (Bodies...

Smoke TV Review: Taron Egerton and Jurnee Smollett lead Dennis Lehane’s true crime-inspired thriller
Image
Plot: Inspired by true events, “Smoke” follows a troubled detective and an enigmatic arson investigator as they pursue the trials of two serial arsonists.

Review: The 2023 Apple TV+ limited series Black Bird presented a true crime drama with stellar performances from Taron Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser. Created by acclaimed novelist Dennis Lehane, the series fostered a creative partnership that has led to the new series, Smoke. With Lehane as showrunner and Egerton in the lead alongside Jurnee Smollett, Smoke draws inspiration from the true crime podcast Firebug but expands into an original narrative about dueling arsonists wreaking havoc in the Pacific Northwest while former firefighter Dave Gudsen (Taron Egerton) and detective Michelle Calderone (Jurnee Smollett) try to apprehend the criminals. It is a fascinating drama that draws on Lehane’s skill at chronicling cops and killers, mixed with multiple intricate characters. Smoke is a character study of the highest order,...

Campaigning while canceled: ‘Étoile’ could follow these other deep-sixed shows to Emmy glory
Image
It was a classic late-Friday news dump: Amazon confirmed that Étoile, the splashy ballet-themed Prime Video dramedy from the Emmy-winning team of Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) had been canceled after one season. The timing was curious: the news broke on June 6, just one week before Emmy voting was set to begin.

Although Étoile has been canceled, the campaign continues. There are billboards and trade ads touting the positive reviews and making a play for votes. Given the publicity surrounding Étoile and the Palladinos' track record (they have 10 Emmys in 24 bids between them), there's a chance that when nominations come out on July 15, Étoile could make the cut. And if it did, it wouldn't be an outlier.

Four years ago, in July 2021, Lovecraft Country received a whopping 18 Emmy nominations for its first and only season, leaving many stunned that a canceled show nabbed the fifth most...

Taylor Sheridan & Jordan Peele In Bidding War To Relaunch An Iconic 1970s Horror Franchise
Image
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre could be getting a full reboot, and a new report reveals that Taylor Sheridan and Jordan Peele are in the mix to take over. Released in 1974, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre hailed from director Tobe Hooper and introduced Leatherface, a villain that has now become one of the most iconic in the horror genre. The success of the low-budget movie birthed a franchise that now consists of nine installments in total, the most recent of which, 2022's Texas Chainsaw Massacre, was released directly to Netflix, earning poor reviews.

A new report from Deadline reveals that a new take on Texas Chainsaw Massacre could be on the way. Bidding will open on Monday for the rights to the franchise, with between five and eight studios/ streamers competing. Verve, the company that has repped the rights to the franchise since 2017, is overseeing the bidding. According to the report,...

Long-Delayed 'Friday the 13th' Prequel Takes Another Stomp Forward With a 'Forever' Star
Image
It’s been three years since Crystal Lake, a Friday the 13th prequel series, was first announced, and now, the call sheet is beginning to be made public. William Catlett will return to the horror genre following his turn in Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett’s Universal monster flick, Abigail, in the role of Levon Brooks. As of right now, we don’t know how Levon fits into the story, but we know that Catlett will appear opposite Linda Cardellini (Dead to Me), who will lead the cast as Pamela Vorhees. The series is set to follow the days of Vorhees’ life before the scream-worthy events of Sean S. Cunningham’s 1980 film, Friday the 13th, went down.

Along with Abigail, Catlett has recently appeared in feature-length titles, including Alexandre Aja’s survival horror flick Never Let Go and the A.V. Rockwell-helmed drama, A Thousand and One. On the small screen,...

Wesley Snipes’ ‘Blade’ Trilogy Writer Is Ready to Help Marvel’s Delayed Reboot Get Made: ‘What in the World Is Going On? Why Is it Taking So Long?’
Image
David S. Goyer recently told ScreenRant that he is more than ready to answer the call should Kevin Feige’s Marvel Studios need him to write Mahershala Ali’s long-delayed “Blade” movie. Goyer is no stranger to the comic book vampire hunter, having written all three movies in Wesley Snipes’ original “Blade” trilogy. He even stepped in to direct 2004’s “Blade: Trinity.”

“I would. I’ve always loved the character and I love him,” Goyer said when asked if he would write Marvel’s “Blade” reboot for the MCU. “I’ve been sitting on the sidelines wondering, ‘What in the world is going on? Why is it taking so long?’ Because I’m a huge Marvel fan myself, and I’ve just been totally puzzled.”

Marvel originally announced its “Blade” movie with Ali in July 2019, but development has been rocky as several writers and directors have come and gone over the years.

After Netflix released a batch of preview images from the Charlize Theron action sequel The Old Guard 2 a couple of weeks ago, the streamer now unveils the new trailer and one-sheet for the upcoming film. The Old Guard 2 is due to hit streaming on July 2. The trailer looks pretty nifty, with Theron’s now mortal Andy taking on The Bride herself, Uma Thurman, in a cool-looking sword fight!

Based on a graphic novel series created by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernández, The Old Guard was scripted by Rucka and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. The film introduced viewers to a covert group of tight-knit mercenaries with a mysterious inability to die who have fought to protect the mortal world for centuries. Sinners Star Reflects on Michael B. Jordan Chemistry and Sequel Possibilities
Image
The following contains major spoilers for Sinners.

Although Sinners is a vampire horror film, the acclaimed Warner Bros. blockbuster contains a mix of several genres and nuances that critics and fans can't get enough of. Among them is the romantic bond between one of Michael B. Jordan's characters and Annie, played by Wunmi Mosaku.

Speaking with W Magazine, Mosaku detailed her on-screen dynamic with Jordan as they brought the romance between Annie and Elijah "Smoke" Moore to life. According to the actor, it was director Ryan Coogler that helped the pair tap into their characters' bond. "Ryan said to call Smoke by his given name, to call him Elijah. That opened up the whole scene for us," she explained. "It was tingly. She calls him Elijah three times in the movie. [During] that scene, in the death scene, and when they’re reunited."

"That’s who she loves, that's why she can forgive and understand,...

‘The Twilight Zone’ Cast: What Are They Doing in 2025?
Image
Jordan Peele’s love for the strange and the supernatural has always been loud and clear, and with The Twilight Zone reboot, he got to play host to a modern version of the legendary 1959 series he grew up admiring. Much like Rod Serling did back in the day, Peele used the format to peel back the layers of society’s darkest corners, mixing horror with moral dilemmas and mind games. Though the revival didn’t stick around as long as fans might have hoped, it packed a punch in its short run and offered a platform for some solid talent.

The anthology came and went, but the faces from the series have moved on to pretty interesting chapters in 2025. From high-stakes dramas to animated franchises, here’s what the key cast members are busy with now.

Flying Lotus Reveals He Was Writing Music for MCU’s ‘Blade’ Movie Before It Fell Apart
It’s been a while since we’ve gotten any official updates on Marvel’s planned Blade reboot movie, which was originally announced way back in 2019. While Wesley Snipes did reprise his iconic role as New Line’s Daywalker in Deadpool & Wolverine last year, the character’s official introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe still seems to be no closer to reality.

It’s no secret that the brand new Blade movie has been bumped all over the release calendar the last several years, and it’s currently without a date at all after getting pulled from its most recent theatrical release date of November 7, 2025. Not helping is that the movie is without a director at the moment, with Yann Demange (“Lovecraft Country”) departing the project in the wake of Bassam Tariq (Mogul Mowgli) exiting the film back in 2022.

Mahershala Ali was attached to play the title character, with...

The Old Guard 2 images give a look at the long-awaited Charlize Theron sequel
Image
Now we know that the movie will begin streaming on July 2nd, and today Netflix has unveiled a batch of images. You can check them out...

Delroy Lindo Says Marvel’s Delayed ‘Blade’ Remake “Just Went Off The Rails”
Image
Delroy Lindo opened up about Marvel’s long-delayed Blade reboot starring Mahershala Ali, which he describes as having “just went off the rails.”

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly to promote Ryan Coogler’s lauded Sinners, the veteran actor commented on the reported creative differences that have plagued the remake, about the Wesley Snipes-originated Daywalker vampire slayer from Marvel’s comics.

“When Marvel came to me, they seemed to be really interested in my input,” the Da 5 Bloods star said. “And in the various conversations I had with producers, the writer, the director at the time, it was all leading into being very inclusive. It was really exciting conceptually, but it was also exciting in terms of the character that was going to form. And then, for whatever reason, it just went off the rails.”

Having since exited the project, Lindo — who boarded the film in 2021 — said he was supposed to...

How ‘Sinners’ Star Wunmi Mosaku Learned ‘Horror Is Such a Powerful Genre’ — as Performer and Audience
Image
Although several of her breakout roles, from “His House” to “Lovecraft Country,” have been within the horror genre, it took seeing “Get Out” for actress Wunmi Mosaku to see why audiences would seek out that type of storytelling. “I thought it was an unnecessary feeling, being scared,” she told IndieWire over Zoom.

Having a thrilling experience that still achieved an impressive level of social commentary left Mosaku changed, and took her down a road leading to “Sinners,” written and directed by Ryan Coogler, which sees her opposite Michael B. Jordan as a soulful hoodoo practitioner named Annie.

A vampire action blockbuster, the new Warner Bros. Pictures release, now in theaters nationwide, put Mosaku in the orbit of Oscar-winning creatives like production designer Hannah Beachler, composer Ludwig Göransson, and costume designer Ruth E. Carter, who have all become frequent collaborators of Coogler. “I always say Ryan has the way to explore...

'It Just Went Off the Rails': Sinners Star Reveals Why He Dropped Out of Ill-Fated Blade Reboot
Image
Blade4's struggles remain well-documented as the long-gestating Marvel Cinematic Universe film featuring Mahershala Ali's titular antihero remains in limbo. One of Ali's initial co-stars on the ill-fated project reveals why he left, as Sinners actor Delroy Lindo shares who he was set to portray.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Lindo addresses why he departed the Blade reboot last summer, leaving the troubled production alongside Aaron Pierre. According to Lindo, he liked the creative pitches for the remake, but things "went off the rails," leading to him moving on to other projects.

"When Marvel came to me, they seemed to be really interested in my input," Lindo said. "And in the various conversations I had with producers, the writer, the director at the time, it was all leading into being very inclusive. It was really exciting conceptually, but it was also exciting in terms of the character that was going to form.

Travis Kelce for your consideration? Football star among ‘Grotesquerie’ actors submitted for 2025 Emmys
Image
FX's Grotesquerie is submitting seven actors for the 2025 Emmys, including football star Travis Kelce.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end (and Taylor Swift beau) is eligible in the Best Drama Supporting Actor category for his role as Ed Laclan, a flirtatious hospital orderly who befriends Niecy Nash-Betts' Det. Lois Tryon. As the season progresses — spoiler alert! — viewers learn that Lois is actually in a coma, and that in the real world, Ed has been dating her daughter, Merritt Tryon, played by Raven Goodwin.

Kelce made his scripted series debut in the third episode, when his character lit Lois' cigarette. "You can call me Eddie," he tells her with a cheshire grin. Ed then alludes to the detective's alcoholism when he says, "Something tells me when you're done with your little ciggie break there, you're going to want to get the hell out of here. ‘Sinners’ Review: Even Vampires Get the Blues in Ryan Coogler’s Awe-Inspiring Horror Film
Image
If you love brain-teasers, give this one a whirl: Try to think of something, anything, that vampires haven’t done yet. And before you raise your hand and say “I got one,” check your work, because even if you think there’s never been a musical about a 300-year-old vampire virgin whose true love gets reincarnated every 22 years, but who always — always — gets murdered by a pirate with a rhinestone peg leg who wields a hambone as a murder weapon… believe it or not, that’s been done.

It’s a challenge to find something new to say about a topic that’s been filmed to death/undeath, but Ryan Coogler is up to the task. After bursting onto the scene with the tragic and shocking biopic “Fruitvale Station” in 2013, Coogler spent the next 12 years filming iconic tales of Black heroism. His “Rocky” spinoff, “Creed,” is a classic in its own right,...

After Spending Millions, Amazon's 'Tomb Raider' Series Is A Mess
Image
The long-in-development Tomb Raider series from Phoebe Waller-Bridge is facing trouble at Prime Video. In 2023, it was announced that Waller-Bridge, best known as the creator and star of the critically acclaimed series Fleabag, would be developing a new Tomb Raider series for Amazon's production arm. The project was officially greenlit in May 2024, and by November 2024, stars like Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones), Lucy Boynton (Sing Street), Mackenzie Davis (Terminator: Dark Fate), and Emma Corin (Deadpool & Wolverine) were all in consideration for the lead role of Lara Croft before Turner was confirmed to have the part.

According to a report by Puck, however, the Tomb Raider streaming series has majorly struggled behind the scenes. The article states that Amazon's Prime Video has spent tens of millions of dollars developing the series and has nothing to show. The series has already gone through two writers' rooms and still does not have a finished script.

Duster Trailer: Lost Star Josh Holloway Is A Getaway Driver In 70s Set J.J. Abrams Action Series
Image
When J.J. Abrams' seminal supernatural survival series Lost celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, three things happened. Firstly, all 121 episodes of the show were dropped on Netflix, ready to confound and captivate a whole new generation. Secondly, a whole lot of folks (us included) were reminded why we still have to go back, even after all these years. And thirdly, we found ourselves desperately hoping Abrams would make his long overdue small screen comeback sooner rather than later. And that's exactly what he's doing with Duster, a 70s set action series in which J.J.'s Lost collaborator Josh Holloway — aka Sawyer — plays a getaway driver enlisted by the FBI's first Black female agent (Rachel Hilson) to help take down a Keith David led crime syndicate. Sounds pretty cool, right? Looks pretty cool, too. Check out the trailer below;

Holy smokes — now that's what you call a trailer! If all the sex,...

Are We Really Ready to Give Jonathan Majors a Comeback?
Image
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, interwoven films and limited series spin tales of epic heroes built from dust, battles waged for love, and villainous origins that span decades, planets, and even the space-time continuum. Perhaps it’s this framework that has transformed the public ousting of star Jonathan Majors from a cautionary tale about abusive actors into the setting for a hero’s potential comeback story.

Majors, who was convicted in December 2023 of recklessly assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, has spent the past month staging a steadfast attempt at career rehabilitation.
