CIA agent tries to "prove" Russian connection to JFK assassination.

A speculative fiction by a propagandist trying to prove the narrative CIA already claimed. He does admit CIA covered up info in the JFK investigation. Letting the very misinformation & propaganda wing which lied about the killing of the president be host of a show about new details is not journalism but shady at best. Shows like American Ripper speculate wild theories & try to prove it in a harmless entertainment but the murder of a US president is more recent and tasteless to treat unscientifically.

"could of"

Admittedly I have not kept up on all the theories about this topic, although I do remember when it happened. It was quite traumatic for the country, even for people who didn't like JFK. Anyway, this isn't a bad series IF you let your critical thinking skills take a rest and keep your remote handy for fast forwarding the 9,000 times Bob Baer says, 'in all my years of...". What my actual response was watching this was to question every assumption as being maybe possible but certainly not proven. The other part for me is that Lee Harvey Oswald is just like those d...heads who shoot into crowds or drive their vehicles into strangers, wanting to make a name for themselves for doing something 'important' .... finally. Oswald was obviously an unstable person and had pretty much failed at everything he did, except kill the president. The series makers make a point of saying he was a Marxist, but to me he was just a pathetic loser who was resentful that nothing had worked out for him and just wanted to do some big deal action. Pretty sad situation all around.

Complete crock

Watching "the Cuban connection"episode They "discover" a base in Belle Chase. It is portrayed as a secret location. In reality, it is property belonging to Tulane University. Property housing it's natural museum. F. Edward Herbert Research Center and the United States Japan Biomedical Research Laboratory . Then they discover a hidden base with watch towers in Key Largo Florida. Again the property is the location of Nike Missile Control Site off of county route 905. It is labeled as control site MH-40. This show is a complete crock of crap.

Hunting Hitler nonsense once again

The same formula as Hunting Hitler: Pick a sensational old event, launch an investigation into it, run around in circles mangling history, and then move on to something else.

They'll probably look for Big Foot in 2018.

Or Amelia Earhart.

The show is funny in an odd way.

If Baer is former CIA, we are in trouble

Another crock of crap from out of nowheresville...

Within 2 minutes of the first episode, ex-CIA spook Baer tells us that Oswald couldn't have shot JFK without support. No mention of possible Oswald innocence ('I am a patsy'), no mention of possible Mafia involvement, no mention of American intelligence agencies planning hits on pretty much anyone they please etc etc... So he instantly is relying on the 'lone nut + whoever' theory to tell us how it happened. Never mind that in a lot of other theories the CIA is the prime suspect all along. He never really mentions that little tidbit, so I assume the whole series is tainted from the beginning.

OK, so he believes Oswald was the shooter and he had help, bring in the 'experts' who agree with everything he says, and you got a pretty boring show actually. Full of information that he claims was 'just released', yet I know I've seen this stuff in almost every book/movie/documentary from 1963 on. And he is the voice of the CIA. Oh boy....

Boring, repetitive, little or no new information and a conclusion that still holds true today, 'it's a mystery wrapped in a riddle inside an enigma...'

Watch the Beverly Hillbillies for a better perspective of the JFK assassination... At least that was entertainment...

Mostly Great But A lot No So Great.

Bob kept saying every chance he got that Oswald killed Kennedy! Oswald was never given a trial and the rifle did not have any of his prints on it until the rifle came back from the FBI. In addition, the FBI had to adjust the rifle scope because the rifle could not be shot accurately until that was done. Bob kept saying over and over again that he always believed Oswald killed Kennedy like he was afraid that if he stated otherwise, he would have been prosecuted. However, some of the good parts were when Bob interviewed people in Mexico and Russia. The last witness was a former Cuban Intelligence Agent who made a startling statement. Bob never asks questions about Marina Oswald's family having ties to the KGB or how Oswald was able to return to the US so quickly from Russia. He just stated Oswald got married and returned to the US-end of story. Lastly, the series is worth watching because they did come up with some interesting facts but it had too much melodrama and listening to Bob became like finger nails on a chalkboard.

Blatant disinformation.

In the first episode Baer makes a big deal out of LBJ's 11/23/63 conversation with Hoover where he asks "Have you established any more about the visit to the Soviet embassy in Mexico in September?" Baer compares Oswald's visit to the Soviet Embassy to some modern day terrorist visiting ISIS headquarters. However on the LBJ Hoover transcript, Baer blacks out Hoover's response: "No, that's one angle that's very confusing, for this reason – we have up here the tape and the photograph of the man who was at the Soviet embassy, using Oswald's name. That picture and the tape do not correspond to this man's voice, nor to his appearance. In other words, it appears that there is a second person who was at the Soviet embassy down there." In other words, Baer knows that Oswald was impersonated in Mexico City, but hides that from the viewer. I guess it's true that no one ever really retires from the CIA.

Yellow Journalism

Calling this show yellow journalism is too kind - it makes the assumption that it is journalism to begin with. It draws broad implications from loosely related facts. Beware how often the word "if" is used.

Still trying to sell us the single bullet theory after over 50 years

Pointless and quite the waste of time. Fancy gimmicky crap that is really quite insulting to everyone's intelligence. To try and tell us in a long winded way that 'yeah LHO did do it, but he had help'. Really doesn't matter when that still means it was a conspiracy. The one thing a lot of people forget is that shots 2 & 3 were almost on top of each other but it takes over 2 seconds to reload the rifle. Which means there was two shooters. CONSPIRACY. End of story.

Oh Dear......

This review won't be any better than the others. It really is a shame that, if 2 million documents were released, this is the best they could do. I just about switched it off within 5 minutes when the CIA guy said he always believed that Lee Harvey Oswald was the only gun man involved without justifying his statement. Because he was ex-CIA we should just believe him? This set the tone for the whole documentary (if you could call it that). Throw in a few trendy words like landing in Mexico (by helicopter? again why?) and say 'here we are - ground zero'. Ground Zero? Thought Dallas would have been ground zero. Meet up with a tough guy complete with hipster beard and haircut, veteran of 5 missions to Afghanistan and Iraq who's experience will prove invaluable. Really? why? He looks like his father wouldn't have even been born in 1963, what possible value would he have. Drive around complete with shaky cameras, conspiratorial tones and say nothing of value. Come to conclusions that aren't supported, let alone make sense.........oh dear. A complete farce. Avoid at all costs and watch any Looney Toones cartoon for a more honest portrayal.

Blatantly Manipulative

This show outright, purposely manipulates the information it presents to the viewers. It was interesting to start, and you can look past the sensationalism... but as the show goes on, it's impossible to watch. They distort, manipulate, and straight out lie countless times.

This is really sad to me, considering the History Channel use to have a good reputation. Now it's all outrageous counter-historical facts that dominate the Network. Shows like this and Ancient Aliens made just to increase ratings, with no regard to honesty or truth.

Once a spook always a spook. You never leave the CIA

The fact that the guy is ex CIA means nothing, everyone knows you never actually leave the CIA. More misinformation complete waste of time. They completely skipped over all the medical evidence.

The kill shot

He claims Oswald was the ONLY gunman. How will he explain the video evidence that clearly shows that the instantly fatal shot obviously came from in FRONT of the limo. Indeed, it appears that the source was very low in the right front (Kennedy's head abruptly accelerates upward and leftward). It looks like the sewer was the place. This would require another shooter.

Bob Baer Bull $#!+!!! Do Not Watch!!!

I do not particularly feel a trust in Bob Baer. He is like an ultimate opportunist cloaking that with his credientials. Yeah, he was at one time an honest and forthright agent of the CIA Does that mean many years later he is that same moral upright man? Hell no. He's Colonel Parker Bob Baer, meaning the only thing guiding his core being is raking in the most money. Don't watch this. It's total disinformation and Bob Baer "ain't I great" BS/

-"What's that over there? ", -"A bus stop".

One episode consists significantly of Bob Baer and chum "discovering" a bus route in suburban Dallas which they present as evidence (evidence just because it exists?) that Oswald would have taken it IF he hadn't decided to go to the film theatre instead.

This is presented as being pivotal evidence in bringing Bob Baer's team to solving the "riddle" of Oswald, which solution they present as the sheer conjecture Oswald had Cuban accomplices in the murder of JFK. Wait for it - exactly this kind of sheer speculation they call evidence TYPICAL and definitive of the series. There are no words for it.

Poor man. I nearly feel ashamed in reviewing this series at all because it draws attention to it, when it should never be watched or perhaps even mentioned.

It's very sad this was released at all and you should not watch it on any account. If you do, all you will be involved in is unsuppressible disbelief that is was given a release.

Better JFK Documentaries Out There

He's right about Oswald not acting alone, but he thinks he is the lone shooter. That's been proven a weak and dubious proposition by so many people it's not funny. Baer does introduce some interesting info, but in the end, he falls miserably short of the truth. Two stars out of ten, at best. He discounts massive research already completed at experts who have been researchers all their life of the JFK murder. Also, Baer totally discounts RFK Jr's murder and the obvious connection. This series was a total let down and I own a library of JFK researchers including Parkwood Dr testimony verifying a frontal shot to the neck, probably from the Grassy Knoll. Also, Alpha 66 may or may not have been involved. Baer is more interested in that than the whole conspiracy.

Judyth Vary baker

HI, Has anyone read her book, Lee & Me? Apparently she was the girlfriend of Lee in 1963. I'm not sure of the validity of it but it is a pretty interesting read. Maybe there is info in it that wasn't researched that could help with timelines and names.
