Basic suspense thriller worth a watch

Pretty decent basic suspense thriller. It did seem like this plot's been done before. But it kept my attention. The ending sort of switches into a comedy-horror feel. Worth a watch for anyone looking for something good on movie night.

Average in almost every area.

Twenty minutes in I thought we were in for a slick, stylish, twisted thriller, sadly by the end of the movie, all I kept thinking was what if, it felt like a mass of wasted opportunities.

The couple, were rather poor I thought, I'm a huge fan of Aaron Paul, but he was very bad in this, partly due to the shocking script he was having to deal with.

On the plus side, the location was stunning, and as always the smouldering Riccardo Scamarcio is terrific, perhaps the only saving grace in what is essentially a poor movie.

The premise is good, sadly the execution, and simplicity are poor. 5/10

Good start but went downhill

Started off mysterious and the scenery was beautiful. But then the movie drags, the acting mediocre and the twist is good but does not keep your attention.

Welcome to Bad Writing

Although Aaron Paul has mainly been disappointing after Breaking Bad, and Emily Ratajkowski is not what I would call a good actress, their performances were not the main issue that left me disappointed with Welcome Home.

Indeed, Aaron, and to a lesser extent Emily, were more than satisfactory, but as my title states, the writing and directing were atrocious. They took too much time trying to build tension which never materializes and forgot to actually write an interesting script.

Not recommended unless you really like Emily Ratajkowski and want to get a "closer" look.

Thoroughly enjoyed but wouldnt pay at a cinema.

This movie is pretty good. Will it win an Oscar? Hell no... But for 90 mins it's easy watching, with a decent plot line and a good baddie. I wouldn't say it's that predictable, its got some good twists towards the end and ends with an 'ooh didn't see that coming' moment. People have been waayyy overly critical of this movie. Lighten up!

Seriously painful to watch.

Very disappointed to see Aaron in this movie, had higher hopes for him. As for Emily - zero acting skills. Very slow and painful to watch- miraculously managed to seat through it. The only thing to see here is the beautiful scenery of Italy.

I was entertained!

I almost did not watch after reading the reviews but loved Aaron Paul in Breaking bad so decided to give it a try. Boy are you amateur reviewers harsh, the acting was believable, maybe not award-winning but not painful as suggested. The actress was good and she grew on me, I thought she was better than Paul. Ricardo was great at being creepily menacing. The house and shots of Italy were beautiful and the ending was cool!

Better than the rating

Watched this, even though it had a terrible rating online. My girlfriend and i watch thrillers non stop and thoroughly enjoyed this one. Not sure why the bad ratings, not super predictable, give it a shot

Well made quality thriller with a scary twist on air b&b!

Welcome Home is such a smart yet scary idea. A well written script and story provides a horrific take on air b&b. It is well acted by all the leads, and as a viewer you will be on the edge of your seat and feeling tension the whole time. The film also calls into question our privacy and who may just be watching us unbeknownst to us in this day and age. It takes place and was filmed in Italy and the setting is both beautiful with the views and landscapes yet scary with the feeling of isolation of being far from home.

Decent movie dragged down by bad actress

It was good except for the TERRIBLE actress, which was made worse by her character being an idiot.

Emrata provides reason to watch

Film has common threads with other good films, but those don't have Emily. A touch slow, but entertaining and not hard to follow. Does make Todi seem kind a desirable place to visit

The Bonds Of Love

A couple decide to take a romantic trip to work on their relationship. They rent out a beautiful countryside home but it is obvious it will take more than scenery to heal their wounds. After meeting a local and having some cordial interactions with the man, things begin to get uncomfortable when the man begins to give off some creepy vibes. Will they make it?

Not an uncommon plot. This isn't a film that I consider to be awful but it brings nothing new to this type of film. I thought the acting was ok but it was slow and it wasn't as suspenseful as it could've been. It simply wasn't very engaging.

Bottom line is that it's been done before. It's not great but I have seen worse. If you like films of this nature and considering it, it is an average watch.

One fatal flaw

I don't like to read others' reviews when I feel the need to post a review of my own but I am sure that other viewers will have felt the same way. The entire budget of this film was wasted by the decision to cast the female lead as they did. This woman cannot act serving up a breakfast, she cannot act running in the forest, she cannot act being the object of a man's desire. The film location was stunning and the look of the film was at all times beautiful. The acting was fine most of the time when the female character was not centre stage. This could easily have been an acceptable piece of entertainment. Unfortunately it wasn't. No other aspect of the film offended me in any way so I don't feel the need to give it a 5 or below but what an error was made by whoever cast that person in that role.

Rotten.

As we would say in french : " c'était pourri ! " Bad Acting, scenario, dialogues, camera work ... thanks to the Italian scenery though, the only pleasant thing in the whole movie.

Just unnecessary

One of those films that just didn't need to be made. Boring, bad acting and predictable with about 10 unnecessary shower scenes and lots of groaning throughout from Emily Ratajkowski
