Stephen Graham has joined the cast of “Deliver Me From Nowhere,” the upcoming movie starring Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen.

Graham, whose credits include “Peaky Blinders,” “Snatch,” “Gangs of New York” and “This Is England,” will play the Boss’ dad, Douglas “Dutch” Springsteen, Variety hears.

The film, directed by Scott Cooper, is set to begin shooting sometime in the fall.

From 20th Century Studios, “Deliver Me From Nowhere” follows Springsteen during the making of his 1982 album “Nebraska,” a dark, stripped-down record that marked an artistic shift from “Born to Run” and “Darkness on the Edge of Town.”

The cast also includes Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan, as well as Odessa Young, who is rumored to play a love interest. Variety reported in May that Jeremy Strong is in talks to portray Jon Landau, Springsteen’s longtime manager.

Stephen Graham, one of the most acclaimed actors on U.K. TV and a regular in both major studio titles and smaller indie features, is set to receive the highest honor at this year’s British Independent Film Awards.

The Richard Harris Award, named after the late star, recognizes an outstanding contribution by an actor to British film and sees Graham join a list of fellow honorees that includes the likes off Judi Dench, Daniel Day-Lewis, Emma Thompson, Vanessa Redgrave and Riz Ahmed.

Philomena writer Jeff Pope is behind Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes, which is being produced by ITV Studios-backed Etta Pictures.

Set immediately after the London bombings in 2005, the series will focus on the manhunt for a group of would-be terrorists and the tragic killing of the innocent Brazillian, after he was mistaken as a suspect. His 2005 murder is seen as one of the great British miscarriages of justice and the Met Police was found guilty in 2007, with Commissioner Ian Blair resigning shortly afterwards. De Menezes’ parents and other relatives are among those serving as consultants for the series.

Sky Studios has taken a minority stake in new drama producer Longboat Pictures, founded by “Bridgerton” director Julie Anne Robinson and former ITV executive Victoria Fea.

The outfit was founded in 2019 by Los Angeles-based director-producer Robinson and ex-itv commissioner Fea. The deal marks the latest investment for Sky Studios, which recently took a minority stake in “Luther” producer Hilary Salmon’s new outfit The Lighthouse, and previously invested in Wendy Darke’s natural history outfit True to Nature.

Under the deal, Sky Studios’ investment will allow Longboat to accelerate growth and expand its creative team. The production outfit will work with Sky Studios to develop content for distribution on the Sky platforms, as well as other networks.

Robinson previously directed both theater and award-winning TV shows in the U.K., before moving to Los Angeles, where her directing credits include “The Good Place,” “Orange is the New Black” and “Grace & Frankie.

HBO Max has picked the U.S. rights to British crime drama White House Farm starring The Irishman’s Stephen Graham and Black ’47’s Freddie Fox.

The WarnerMedia-owned streaming service will air the six-part series in the States next year after striking a deal with All3Media International.

It is the latest British title snapped up by the streamer, following deals with BBC Studios for Doctor Who as well as Ricky Gervais’ The Office, Top Gear, Luther, The Honorable Woman, Pure, Trigonometry, Stath Lets Flats, Home and Ghosts.

The show, which is produced by Catherine The Great producer New Pictures, sees Graham, who also starred in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, plays Dci ‘Taff’ Jones and Fox plays Jeremy Bamber. “Marcella” star Anna Friel has been cast in “Deep Water,” the upcoming female-led drama for ITV from writer Anna Symon (“Indian Summers”). Friel will star alongside Sinead Keenan (“Little Boy Blue”) and Rosalind Eleazar (“Howards End”) in the six-parter, which hails from Endemol Shine producer Kudos.

The female leads play complex and vibrant women struggling to keep their heads above water. With children of the same age, they meet at the school gates as their personal dramas unfold. International Emmy winner Friel plays Lisa, a mother of three trying to juggle her hectic family life with running a business. Keenan is Roz, a debt-ridden physiotherapist, and Eleazar plays Kate, a wealthy and attractive mother of two who makes a spontaneous life-changing decision.

Exclusive: Brotherhood and The Souvenir actor Jack McMullen has nabbed a supporting role in Logan director James Mangold’s upcoming movie about the battle between Ford and Ferrari at the 1966 Le Mans World Championship.

Christian Bale and Matt Damon will star in the currently untitled pic, which Fox has dated for June 28, 2019 stateside. It will follow automotive visionary Carroll Shelby, British driver Ken Miles and a team of American engineers and designers who were dispatched by Henry Ford II with the mission of building from scratch a new race car to defeat the perennially dominant Ferrari at the iconic Le Mans race.

Jon Bernthal has been in talks to join the film which will also star Caitriona Balfe, Noah Jupe and Paul Sparks. McMullen will play one of Miles’ key Brit mechanics.

British fact-based drama “Little Boy Blue,” about the real-life murder of an 11-year-old boy in Liverpool, won the Golden Nymph for long fiction program at the Monte Carlo Television Festival Tuesday, while Spanish heist drama “La Casa De Papel” was named best drama series, and the comedy series prize went to Britain’s “The End of the F***ing World,” which follows a “budding teen psychopath and a rebel hungry for adventure” as they embark on a road-trip.

“Little Boy Blue’s” Sinèad Keenan won the actress prize in a long fiction program, while Ewan McGregor won for his performance in “Fargo” in the same category.

The acting prizes in the drama series contest went to Lynn Van Royen for “Hotel Beau Sejour,” and Johannes Lassen in “Below the Surface,” while in the comedy section prizes went to Daisy May Cooper for “This Country” and Tony Shalhoub for “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

The Monte Carlo Television Festival has a habit of handing awards to recently cancelled U.S. dramas and this year is no different – CBS’ Scorpion was among the winners at the prestigious Golden Nymph Awards.

The high-tech series, which ran for four seasons, was named Best Action & Science Fiction TV Series at the glamorous event. British drama Little Boy Blue, which aired on ITV, cleaned up with two awards – as Best Long Fiction Program and with Sinèad Keenan winning Outstanding Actress.

Elsewhere at the ceremony, which was attended by Hsh Princess Charlene of Monaco, Ewan McGregor was named Outstanding Actor for his role in Fargo, Netflix co-pro The End Of The F***ing World won Best Comedy, Lethal Weapon, which had problems of its own this year, was called Best Crime TV Series and Tony Shalhoub was named Outstanding Actor for his performance in Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

The Huntman: Winter’s War star Sheridan Smith, Abigail’s Party star Alison Steadman and Sinead Keenan (Little Boy Blue) are to star in Care, a BBC One drama created by Broken and The Accused creator Jimmy McGovern.

Care, a 90-minute drama, will be produced by Colin McKeown’s La Productions for BBC. It will tell the story of Smith’s Jenny, a mother-of-two raising her girls alone after the departure of her husband Dave. Her one lifeline is Mary, played by Steadman, Jenny’s widowed mother whose help with childcare allows Jenny to hold down her full-time job at the supermarket. When Mary suffers a devastating stroke and develops dementia, Jenny’s world comes crashing down and everything changes for her and her sister Claire, played by Keenan. Finding herself torn between her own life and the well-being of her mother, Jenny soon discovers that another way could be possible.

“The Crown” won only one of its three races at the 2018 BAFTA TV Awards on May 13 when Vanessa Kirby claimed the supporting actress prize for her riveting portrayal of Princess Margaret. While this lavish historical drama had taken home three BAFTAs at last month’s TV Craft Awards, it was bested here for Drama Series by another period piece, “Peaky Blinders.” And although Claire Foy has already collected a Golden Globe and SAG Award for capturing the essence of Queen Elizabeth II, she lost Best Drama Actress to Molly Windsor who won for the docudrama “Three Girls,” which was named Best Miniseries. The BBC’s “Peaky Blinders” triumphed at BAFTA’s British Academy Television Awards, which were handed out Sunday night. The crime drama won best drama series, beating out Netflix’s “The Crown,” which missed out on the big prize for the second consecutive year.

“The Crown’s” Claire Foy, who plays Queen Elizabeth II, was also passed over for the second year running as the leading actress award went to Molly Windsor for BBC true-life miniseries “Three Girls,” about three young girls who were groomed, sexually abused and trafficked by a group of men. “Three Girls” also took home the award for best miniseries, adding to the three awards it won at the BAFTA Craft Awards in April.

Netflix shows “The Crown” and “Black Mirror” each landed three nominations Wednesday for BAFTA Television Awards, as did BBC dramas “Line of Duty” and “Three Girls.”

Royal chronicle “The Crown” received nominations for best drama; for Claire Foy, who plays Queen Elizabeth II, as leading actress; and for Vanessa Kirby, who plays Princess Margaret, as best supporting actress. “Black Mirror,” the dark, dystopian anthology series, also bagged nominations in the leading actor, single drama, and supporting actor categories.

Police drama “Line of Duty’s” trio of nominations included one for drama series and one for lead actress Thandie Newton. “Three Girls,” about sexual abuse in a community in northern England, will compete for the best miniseries award.
