Sword Oratoria: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side

Watch it with character development in mind

So this is a spin-off series based of the "Is it wrong to try and Pick up girls in a dungeon?" Anime, (Which you should watch the first season of first) and reading some of the reviews I think many looked at this Spin-off in the wrong light.

Yes you will see many of the sub-plots in the original, and it flirts with the main storyline as well, but it's looking at all of it from the perspective of the "Loki Familia" developing the characters further and explaining some of their motivations more clearly.

In the end it's very watchable, especially as we wait for the next season of the main anime, and if you don't expect perfection you'll likely enjoy it.

Pro's: -More of the characters we love. -Deepened story and background. -Good English Dubbing. -It's fun.

Con's: -Lower animation quality when compared to Danmachi's first season. -"Fan Service" is less clever but more frequent. -Audio quality / score is noticeably weaker compared to Danmachi.

still fun

This takes place in and around the same time and place as "DanMachi: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" The Gods have come down to the city of Orario. The people join Familia to serve each God by fighting monsters down in the dungeons. Lefiya Viridis is a young inexperienced adventurer. She is often rescued by Aiz Wallenstein whom she admires greatly. With sisters Tiona and Tione Hiryute, they battle the monsters for their god Loki. Aiz is concerned that she has stalled in her fighting skills. They find new monsters emerging in the deep and a dark conspiracy which spans the deepest depths all the way to the surface.

It's a marginal improvement from the first. The story is simple. It may be simpler and that allows the story to go quicker. I actually love telling the same story from different sides and maybe the next series will continue the style. The characters are likeable. It's fun. It's not much more than that. Loki is naughty in a bad way but the boob grabbing is still funny.

I feel like something is missing

While this anime follows the main idea of the series, I feel that something is missing. Perhaps some characters aren't well-developed and annoying to the point that we could get bored with them. The introduction of some characters is forced or useless, and there isn't enough time to develop their personalities fluently. Maybe the novel is different.

I Definitely Need the Next Season

One of my favorites. Great storyline, animation, fantasy, comic relief, shoujo-ai teaser, and more. As the story is just starting to develop, I just wish there is more episodes! This anime definitely needs more airing time.

Best spinoff ever

The twin story of DanMachi first season, or like someone would say its Shojo counterpart, where Lefiya and Ais (and more generally the Loki family) are protagonist.

The characters are a bit more mature here, but what give the big boost compared the brother version is the greatly reduced fan service. Well It's not completely removed (that's why I cant give more than 9) but it is nothing compared to DanMachi.

Tione and Tiona are awesome.

Hoping for a season 2.
