    revelation

An art film. so different by what you expect. or imagine. or hope. or know. because it is a trip . across a fascinating biography. in essence of the art of more than a great artist. it represents the precise and delicate deffinition of Renaissance. to explore the details and genesis of masterpieces. to see the things in the light of them beginnings. to feel the air and the dust and admire the struggle of a genius. all in a film being more than a docu-drama but a revelation about, at the first sigh, well know things. it is easy to say - must see it ! because after its end you discover not exactly a beautiful film but a sort of experience.

In the beginning part of the movie Raphael as child makes intentionally fall a full bowl of vivid blue pigment. From the hue and intensity it seems to be Ultramarine blue, that in Renaissance was a very precious pigment, the prohibitive cost made so that many painters could not afford it. So, if a child would cause a loss like this, he would be surely reprehended at least.
