Some Star Wars fans are mad, furious even.
Since The Last Jedi opened Thursday night, a portion of moviegoers made it clear via social media and through audience scores that there is a deep divide over the Disney film, which stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Adam Driver.
While the Rian Johnson film was overwhelmingly praised by critics, holding a 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, it has only a 56 percent audience score on the movie aggregator — putting it in the territory of George Lucas' controversial...

Star Wars: The Last Jedi delivered on expectations, debuting with the second largest opening weekend of all-time and propelling the box office to the third largest weekend ever based on estimates. In an attempt at counter-programming, Fox's Ferdinand got off to a bit of a slow start against the might of Star Wars as well as the continued strong performance of Pixar's Coco as it fell below Mojo's expectations, though the studio is optimistic when it comes to the film's future. With an estimated $220 million, Star Wars: The Last Jedi delivered the second largest opening weekend ever behind only Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which debuted with $247.9 million back in 2015. Last Jedi got off to a strong start on Thursday night with the second largest preview gross ever of $45 million and became only the second film to ever gross over $100 million on opening day resulting in the second largest opening day ever,...

The latest Star Wars sequel is already a huge hit with an opening day take of $104.8 million at the box office. Star Wars: The Last Jedi has become the second movie in history to earn over $100 million during its debut, trailing behind 2015's The Force Awakens. Between the Thursday night previews and opening day, it looks like the movie could surpass the $215 million projections, but still fall short in terms of beating out the first installment in the new trilogy. The Last Jedi alone is covering 82% of the total box office this weekend, but coupled with the latest Fox buyout, Disney has over 92% of the total box office.
Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi opened in more than 4,100 theaters domestically this weekend and the numbers have been massive, especially for 2017 when the box office has been mostly quiet. Thursday night previews earned the movie $45 million, which is $12 million less than The Force Awakens,...

Frozen was and is a bona fide cultural phenomenon and I’m willing to bet Frozen 2 will make similarly big waves at the box office. However, it seems that the general moviegoing public does have limits as to how much Frozen they want in their lives. At least, judging by the frosty (get it?) reception received by the 22 minute short Olaf’s Frozen Adventure that was screened before Pixar’s Coco. The reaction to it’s been so bad, in fact, that Disney actually pulled the damn thing from all screenings of the film.
Aside from 22 minutes seriously stretching the definition of an animated ‘short,’ Olaf’s Frozen Adventure is a nauseatingly calculated slice of faux-holiday cheer delivered by a gurning snowman monstrosity that only just squeaked into ‘likeable’ territory in the original film. Worse yet, it simply lacked the spark of comedy, adventure and fairytale sincerity that helped Frozen reach such a wide audience.

Carrie Fisher may be gone, but never forgotten.
Hours after fans flocked to theaters on Thursday night to catch the highly anticipated premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the late actress' daughter, Billie Lourd, took to Instagram to share a sweet tribute.
Lourd posted a throwback photo from December 2015 of her and her mother on the red carpet at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiere in Hollywood, California. The two appeared to be happier than ever at the time, smiling and hugging as photographers captured their pic.

ABC’s TV debut of “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” gave plenty of viewers that warm fuzzy feeling on Thursday night. But many more were cracking up during the midseason finale of “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS. Those options, on top of NBC’s Denver Broncos vs. Indianapolis Colts matchup, pushed Fox’s “Showtime at the Apollo” Christmas special out into the cold. However, last night’s “Thursday Night Football” game hit a season-low in the earlier-than-available overnight ratings, which for live sports are more reliable than the fast national Nielsen numbers. Final time zone adjusted Nielsen numbers will be available later Friday.

After two years of waiting, Star Wars: The Last Jedi finally hit theaters for Thursday night sneak preview screenings and the results, as expected, were huge. The highly-anticipated Star Wars movie, which already earned widespread critical acclaim, took in a whopping $45 million on Thursday, the second highest Thursday total in box office history. The Thursday tally comes just shy of the all-time, possibly unbreakable record of $57 million, set by 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Disney revealed that the tally was 55% ahead of the Thursday preview for last year's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which took in $29 million, but still 21% shy of the all time Thursday record. If it had not been for The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi would in fact have the new record, since it came in just $1.5 million higher than the previous record-holder, 2011's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, whose $43.5 million...

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…
Rogue One notwithstanding, each new chapter in Lucasfilm’s Star Wars saga begins with an opening crawl to outline the adventure ahead. It’s a time-honored tradition that goes hand-in-hand with John Williams’ world-famous score, and with The Last Jedi, Rian Johnson sets out his stall early, teasing viewers with news of a “merciless” First Order that begins hunting down the remnants of the Resistance.
And don’t worry, The Last Jedi‘s opening crawl is totally free of spoilers – it’s basically a repackaged version of the synopsis, after all. But fair warning: as this is December 15th, the Internet is teeming with all sorts of spoiler-sensitive material, with pieces on Rey’s parentage, Luke’s history, and Kylo Ren’s allegiance already floating around cyberspace. So stay frosty.
Meanwhile, below you’ll find that aforementioned crawl, courtesy of ComicBook.

Walking up to her mother’s home, Kardashian West noted her mother’s rainbow-themed decor as she took her children, North, 4, and Saint, 2, on a nighttime trip to see the decorations.
“So, my favorite thing to do is drive around the town and show my kids all the Christmas tree lights,” Kardashian West said in the video. “They haven’t seen my mom’s house decorated yet.

The Force and the force -- Lapd, that is -- will be extra strong in Hollywood for Thursday night's premiere screenings of "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." We're told more than 20 extra uniformed officers and frequent neighborhood patrols will be deployed around the biggest movie theaters in the heart of Hollywood. Undercover cops will be on the beat as well. A source at Grauman's Chinese Theatre tells us it's also bringing in private security from an outside firm.

After a strong performance last month, the December box office is currently pacing ahead of 2016 by 3% while the overall year is still pacing just a bit behind 2016, currently by 4.2%. However, now comes what will surely be the highest grossing domestic release of the year, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The latest film in the Star Wars franchise is looking to become only the fourth domestic release to ever open over $200 million, sure to assist in closing the year-to-year gap even further. Much like 2015, we're anticipating similar results. When forecasting the opening weekend for Star Wars: The Force Awakens back in 2015 it was a rather monumental task as no...

The much-coveted mobile streaming rights for the National Football League (NFL)'s slate of national broadcasts will soon reach a bigger audience. Verizon, a longtime sponsor of the NFL, has paid a reported $2.25 billion for a five-year agreement that will allow it to stream America's most-watched sports league on mobile devices and across its Go90, Yahoo, and AOL properties.
The deal will cover all nationally-broadcast NFL games, including weekly Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night Football, and Monday Night Football broadcasts. Teams will also be streamable within their local markets, though out-of-market matchups will still be restricted to DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket package.
Verizon already possessed mobile streaming rights for NFL action, but its latest deal will expand coverage to a wider range of platforms. The telecom giant owns both Yahoo and AOL, which it has united under the beleaguered Oath brand. It launched Go90 in 2015 and has since stocked the...
