"Feng kuang de wai xing ren" (aka "Crazy Alien") was a movie that somewhat snuck in under the radar. I was given the chance to watch it, and given my interest and fascination with Asian movies, of course I jumped at the chance.

While "Crazy Alien" definitely is entertaining and enjoyable, the laughs were unfortunately few and far in between. It was a shame, because the movie had all the ingredients to be something fantastic and hilarious, but it ultimately fell through when it mattered the most. As such, the movie will not become a classic, nor will it be a movie that you'll watch more than once. Now, don't get me wrong, because "Crazy Alien" is not a bad movie, far from it. It just lacked more comedy situations to make the audience laugh.

The acting in the movie was good, and they did have a good ensemble of acting talents to perform in the movie. Bo Huang and Zheng Xu were carrying the movie quite well with their performances. However, it was the CGI animated alien and the monkey that stole the show, no doubt about it.

The story was good and it was easy to follow. You quickly get immersed into the storyline and there is a good pacing to the story, that is for certain.

As for the CGI, well that was good, definitely good. The CGI animated alien and monkey were great and looked realistic for the most parts actually. And that definitely added some great enjoyment to the movie.

"Crazy Alien" is a movie well worth watching, but it is hardly a movie that you watch more than once.

Hand pine can give four stars. It continues the absurdity of Ning Hao's "Crazy" series of films. It is a farce full of entertainment and mockery of cultural stratum theory. Although the coat is absurd, it criticizes the sense of class and identity differentiation of this era. The transformation from monkey playing little people to aliens and from being looked up to being looked down all reflects the value core of Ning Hao's absurd play. Huang Bo, as the background of the series of "madness", has also revealed his one track, madness and contradictions this time. Perhaps no second person can play "Geng Hao" well; Shen Teng's role is greasy and always beaten by his shrewdness. Ning Hao is very keen to capture the joy behind Shen Teng's "false shrewdness". Generally speaking, it is still qualified. The characterization continues the settings of the first two films, and comedy + science fiction did not fail. Unfortunately, in terms of lens language, Ning Hao has abandoned the previous multi-line narration, and the lens editing is no longer close.
