Max has revealed the lineup of new shows and movies available on streaming platform as of April 2025.

Highlights include the fourth season of Hacks, and the long awaited sequel to Nathan Fielder’s meta docu-comedy series The Rehearsal. The Last of Us, which the Consequence team named one of our most anticipated series of 2025, will also return for its second season. Meanwhile, Brett Goldstein will unveil his latest comedy special, The Second Best Night of Your Life.

Films set to debut include the erotic film Babygirl and Kyle Mooney’s disaster comedy Y2K. Other movies, like Aftersun (2022), Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019), The Tree of Life (2011), Friday (1995), and Sixteen Candles (1984), also arrive on April 1st (no joke!), with a substantial batch of flicks ranging from the 2020s to the 1930s flanking these major additions.

Gold Rush Season 14 ended with Parker Schnabel taking a big gamble and crushing it. Now, in Parker’s Trail Season 7, Scannabel will be faced with some of the worst challenges he has ever faced going for the gold. Fans know what he has survived in the past, including snow, medical emergencies, and dangerous natives. But if there is gold, Parker wants to mine it!

On Friday, TV Insider reported that Gold Rush: Parker’s Trail is back for Season 7. Over the years, besides the Klondike, he has gone to Alaska, Papua New Guinea, Guyana, Australia, New Zealand, Peru, and Bolivia. This time, he is returning to South America and headed to Brazil.

With its list of new releases for May 2024, HBO streamer Max is bringing back one of the best comedies on television.

Hacks season 3 premieres on May 2 and will continue the tortured (platonic-ish) love affair between comedy superstar Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and her former joke writer Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder). That will be followed up by Pretty Little Liars: Summer School on May 9.

Movie-lovers have more than enough to keep them occupied in May 2024 as well. The latest John Green adaptation, Turtles All the Way Down, will premiere on May 3. That will be followed by intriguing original documentary MoviePass, MovieCrash on May 30. Max is also putting its Warner Bros. origins to good use with a bunch of excellent library movies like The Iron Claw on May 10 and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice on May 26.

In a surprising turn, fans saw a familiar face return during the November 3 episode of Gold Rush. It was Fred Lewis. The military veteran was primarily featured during seasons 11 to 13, but things didn’t work out for him going into season 14. Lewis was introduced to the popular Discovery series world when he put his background as a Special Forces medic to use in a similar role for Gold Rush: Parker’s Trail in 2019. It’s where he first began to work with Parker Schnabel. After viewers wondered if they’d ever see Lewis again, he re-emerged in hopes of securing ground to keep his operation going. Get ready to embark on a new adventure of a lifetime as Gold Rush: Parker’s Trail heads to New Zealand for its fifth season. Slated to arrive Friday, June 17 on Discovery and discovery+, Parker’s Trail follows 27-year-old Parker Schnabel as he travels further than ever before in search of gold, bringing his friends along to the land of sharks, hobbits, big gold, and revolutionary mining gear. (Credit: Discovery) In order to gain an edge back home, the crew will head deep into the wilderness to explore land previously uncharted by them. After closing out 15 million Yukon season, Parker is rolling the dice again by putting down about 200,000 of his own gold on a Fairbanks property in his home state of Alaska. The reason for the purchase? There’s a huge profit to be made off of the land, but Parker needs to secure some specialty equipment in order to process the clay-rich ground.

Add “gold mining” to the list of things you can’t do during a global pandemic. That’s a rough reality for the stars of Discovery’s hit reality series “Gold Rush.”
