The director saved up money from his job delivering pizzas in order to make this film. The remainder of the budget was raised through the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.
The script uses the characters from an earlier screenplay that the writer/director had written but was unsatisfied with. The earlier screenplay had the same title as this film but a completely different plot.
