Trivia

Vous avez un message: comme un ouragan

Edit
Keb' Mo' is an award-winning blues artist and played his own music in the movie.
Keb' Mo' who plays Gabe sings his song "Tell Everybody I Know" in the next movie Vous avez un message: un héritage inattendu (2017) during the opening credits.
This movie clearly takes place in 2017 - twelve years after Katrina in 2005. But the movie also takes place about a week or two after the previous movie (which aired Sept. 2016, but seemed to take place in Feb/Mar 2016), as the deceased passport employee's potato hasn't yet sprouted (and that takes about 1-2 weeks). That creates an inconsistent internal timeline for the movies.
Kristin Booth said that the infamous spin kiss wasn't that hard to do. While she did step on Eric's foot on their first attempt she is pretty sure the take that is used in the movie was only their third try.
Writer Martha Williamson always intended Oliver and Shane's first kiss to happen off camera but wanted the audience to know it happened. Her script had their first kiss behind a tree in the park when they were walking home from their date. But the scene was being filmed on the last day of shooting for the movie and it would not stop raining long enough for them to set up in the park. So the director, Kevin Fair, re-staged the first kiss on the stairs which turned out to look a lot like the infamous first kiss in the classic movie 'An Affair to Remember."
