But while Hallmark male stars need to personify whatever romantic fantasy Hallmark is selling -- whether that's sensitive, or caring, or supporting, or rugged, or good at fighting fires -- their actresses have an altogether different responsibility. It seems that Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, may have moved on from her Hallmark days, but it looks like she still has strong ties to the Hallmark family.

Recent photos of Markle having lunch with another Hallmark star, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, suggest that she still has friends within the Hallmark community.

This year’s “Summer Nights” programming event is officially underway at Hallmark Channel, as production has kicked off on a new movie, “Two Tickets to Paradise.” The film, being shot on location at the iconic Royal Hawaiian Resort in Oahu, Hawaii, stars Ashley Williams, Ryan Paevey and Mary-Margaret Humes.

“Two Tickets to Paradise,” an Island Film Group Production, is executive produced by Jason Sallee. Ric Galindez and Roy Tjio are producers on the movie, with Dustin Rikert directing the script by Tracy Andreen and Kevin Taft.

Last year, Hallmark Channel premieres six original movies in May and June, including four for its annual “Summer Nights” lineup. It has yet to announce this year’s lineup.

Williams last appeared in Hallmark’s “Sister Swap: A Hometown Holiday” and “Sister Swap: Christmas in the City,” part of the network’s “Countdown to Christmas” lineup. Paevey starred in three movies for the channel last year,...

Apple TV Plus released a trailer for “Invasion,” which launches Oct. 22 with it first three episodes.

The new series hails from Simon Kinberg and David Weil and is set across multiple continents as citizens across the globe struggle to deal with the titular event, which at first presents as smaller and more manageable issues.

“My fellow citizens of the world, what I have to say to you is not something I was ever prepared to say. As many of you know by now, we are suffering from inexplicable and seemingly unrelated incidents ranging from power outages to the destruction of infrastructure and homes,” the president says in the trailer, which you can watch below.
