Kazuhiko Yamaguchi: Movies with Guts (2017)
*** (out of 4)
Director Kazuhiko Yamaguchi sits down for this eleven-minute interview where he discusses his early career, working with Sonny Chiba and their film WOLF GUY. For the most part this is a pretty entertaining interview as Yamaguchi shares some nice stories about his early career as an assistant director as well as how he landed his first job and how the success of that film lead to a series of movies. If you're a fan of the director then you'll certainly want to check this out as he at least has some good stories to tell and even some very funny ones including one dealing with his bad language and how it was shocking to Chiba. He tells some nice stories about WOLF GUY and how he wasn't a fan of the genre, the original source material and he freely admits he didn't really know how to make it.
