The single-camera comedy pilot was originally announced at the broadcaster in August. The show is based on a short story by Katherine Heiny. The official logline states that the show is “set at the place everyone dreads going most: the Dmv. The Writers Guild of America West issued a censure of showrunner Tim Doyle on Thursday after a committee of its members found that one of his Facebook posts was “conduct prejudicial to the welfare of the Guild and unfair dealing.”

The union’s board of directors revealed in a statement sent to members that it had conducted an internal trial over its charges that in August of 2023 Doyle posted an image to a Facebook group “that members perceived as a racist and offensive depiction of a lynching.” Following a hearing that included Doyle’s testimony, “a trial committee of Current members in good standing found Mr. Doyle guilty as charged.” The verdict was that “Mr. Doyle’s conduct warrants public censure,” the board added.

“The Writers Guild of America West (“Wgaw”) initiated charges against member Tim Doyle under Article X of the Constitution and Bylaws of the Wgaw (“Constitution”),” guild leaders wrote in a message to members sent Thursday. “The charges alleged that on August 9, 2023 Mr. Doyle posted, on a Facebook group for Wgaw members, an image that members perceived as a racist and offensive depiction of a lynching. Exclusive: Dexter Darden (Chang Can Dunk), Chloe Bridges (Maggie) and Robert Buckley (One Tree Hill) have joined the cast of Amber Ruffin and Kenny Smith NBC comedy pilot, Non-Evil Twin.

Darden plays Marcus, a contemporary nerd and tech developer for exercise equipment. He’s a good guy, but no fan of confrontation, which makes it hard for him to do the right thing at times. Bridges plays Robin, the CEO of Dandee Sports Apparel and Angie’s (Ruffin) corporate nemesis. She’s a self-described woman of faith who’s a shark in the boardroom. Buckley plays Samson, Angie’s not-so-bright lawyer who, in addition to providing legal counsel, provides Angie with anything she needs…be it copious amounts of rosé or sex.

The multi-camera pilot stars Ruffin playing the dual roles of twin sisters Angie and Amber. Angie is the ruthless CEO of AngieCorp, who is as heartless as she is rich.

While it might seem like The Goldbergs season 11 could have continued into the ‘90s, the show’s spinoff proved that this wouldn’t work. Nostalgia is a tricky thing to capitalize on, despite how easy Hollywood’s endless stream of reboots and re-imaginings might make this process seem. As a phenomenon, nostalgia is a vague, ineffable sensation, and it is hard to reliably monetize something as ephemeral as a wistful desire to return to an imagined past. Aj Michalka’s Lainey was a key member of the cast of The Goldbergs up until the show’s sixth season, when she departed the show to lead her own spinoff sitcom Schooled. While Schooled ended after just two seasons, Michalka’s own career as a singer and performer has continued to keep her away from The Goldbergs outside of a few guest appearances.

Lainey most recently returned in The Goldbergs season 10, episode 14, but Michalka has revealed that she hopes to be a part of the series finale. “The Goldbergs” is coming to an end after 10 seasons on ABC, according to reports. The ’80s-set half-hour comedy was based on creator Adam F. Goldberg’s childhood experiences.

With over 200 episodes and a decade-long run, the Sony Pictures Television series — which follows the title family in a Pennsylvania town — has earned the distinction of being the longest-running live-action network comedy series currently on the air. The season finale, set to air May 3, will now serve as a series ender.

The logline for Season 10 is as follows: “With everyone living back under the same roof and Beverly adjusting to her new role as Grandsmotherer, the Goldbergs pandemonium is crazier than ever. As this latest chapter of life continues to unfold, the Goldbergs remind us that there is no bond greater than family, and there is nothing they can’t handle with each other’s support.”

The Disney-owned broadcast network’s longest-running scripted comedy series will conclude with its current 10th season, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. Sources say calls were made Thursday afternoon to inform the show’s stars and creatives.

The Goldbergs has been a stalwart for ABC for the past decade, remaining the network’s comedy constant for executive regimes covering Paul Lee, Channing Dungey, Karey Burke and Craig Erwich.

The series, which has weathered the departures of star Jeff Garlin following multiple Hr complaints, is produced by Sony Pictures Television. ABC’s lack of ownership on the sitcom, paired with declining linear ratings and pricey licensing fees for an aging series, made an 11th season increasingly unlikely.

The Goldbergs welcomed back a fan-favorite character tonight in season 10, episode 14, called "Two-Timing Goldbergs." Lainey Lewis, played by actress and singer Aj Michalka, returned to her hometown to catch up with best friend Erica (Hayley Orrantia). Naturally, she also sparked accidental controversy when Erica and her husband Geoff mistakenly believed Lainey to be getting back together with Barry (Troy Gentile) behind everyone's backs.

The episode is titled “Two-Timing Goldbergs” and will premiere on February 22. The storyline will follow Lainey returning to town to visit Erica's baby, though Erica's husband Geoff (Sam Lerner) isn't so sure it's a good idea for Lainey to be around Barry.

Sean Giambrone discusses the possibility of The Goldbergs continuing past the 1980s. The Goldbergs premiered on ABC in 2013 and was created by Adam F. Goldberg. The Goldbergs has been on for an impressive ten seasons and is loosely based on Goldberg's childhood in the 1980s. The series follows his eccentric family in the Philadelphia suburb of Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. The Goldbergs has shown the family grow and evolve over the years, with Adam first introduced as an 11-year-old, and in the season 9 finale, he graduated from high school.

The Goldbergs is set in 1980-something even though the show is now in its tenth season. In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Giambrone, who plays Adam Goldberg, reveals that he wants to continue telling Adam's stories for years to come. He also teases his desire to continue The Goldbergs past the 1980s while acknowledging that he would like to continue telling these stories in 1980-something.

The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh has been given a straight-to-series order by Amazon Freevee. Starring Naveen Andrews, Sindhu Vee, Megan Hilty, Sahana Srinivasan, Arjun Sriram, Ashwin Sakthivel, Ethan Suplee, and Nicholas Hamilton, the half-hour comedy is based on the real-life experiences of showrunner Vijal Patel.

The story is told in sometimes conflicting flashbacks and follows the first few months of the Pradeep family in America after moving from India. Eight episodes have been ordered.

Exclusive: Hunter Doohan (Wednesday) has signed with WME.

Most recently, Doohan portrayed Tyler Galpin a local barista with a special connection to the show’s titular character (played by Jenna Ortega) in Season 1 of the hit Netflix series Wednesday which premiered in November. Following Wednesday‘s rating success, it was renewed for a second season.

Doohan is also known for starring opposite Bryan Cranston in the series Your Honor for Showtime, has recurred on Apple TV’s Truth Be Told as a younger Aaron Paul, and guest-starred on Schooled for ABC and What/If for Netflix. Additionally, he played Confederado Scout in Season 2 of HBO’s Westworld.

In 2017, Doohan was one of the top ten finalists in the 2017 ABC Discovers: Digital Talent Competition. He won best actor at the 2019 Nova Film Festival for his lead role in the feature Soundwave and has been nationally recognized and awarded for his theatrical performances.

Exclusive: After expanding one popular long-running procedural drama, The Rookie, with a planted spinoff for next season, ABC is looking to do it for another, The Good Doctor with an embedded episode. I hear the network is developing legal offshoot The Good Lawyer, from The Good Doctor executive producers/co-showrunners David Shore and Liz Friedman, Sony Pictures TV and Shore’s studio-based Shore Z Prods. ABC Signature is co-producing.

Like with the Nathan Fillion-starring The Rookie, the spinoff of the Freddie Highmore-headlined The Good Doctor will have a female lead and will be introduced as a backdoor pilot during The Good Doctor‘s upcoming sixth season, I hear. Reps for ABC and Sony TV declined comment, and deals are still being worked out.

According to sources, two characters from The Good Lawyer, the lead Joni as well as Janet, will appear in Episode 613 of The Good Doctor, with the roles currently casting.

Country music star Jimmie Allen is set to make his feature film debut with upcoming musical “Be Alright.”

“The Goldbergs’” Hayley Orrantia will co-star, with both Allen and Orrantia in the lead roles.

In “Be Alright,” which is set in New York City in the 1960s, Orrantia plays down-on-her-luck Eve. Things start looking up when she encounters an “old friend with a new mantra” played by Allen.

In keeping with Allen’s musical style, the film is set to have a country flavor. Production will kick off this month at the Warner Bros. lot.

As well as starring in “Be Alright” (which shares a title with a track from his recent album “Tulip Drive”), Allen developed the original story and will produce and co-direct the feature alongside Chris Beyrooty.

Beyrooty wrote the screenplay with Connor Martin.
