    Incomparable tandem

LizQuen is definitely one of the best love teams. Their pretty faces complement their roles. While the film is not deep or something new, the two deliver and exceed the expectations, the way that only few love teams can sustain.

    Fun, CLICHE, but fun!

The movie has the general set up to becoming a potential, "TYPICAL" romantic comedy but it doesn't. To be honest this Filipino romantic comedy was a pleasing experience as it lived up to a nice story and fulfilling ending. The acting was good, a lot of characters so it does get hard to keep up on the supporting cast but the leads were good. They had chemistry and kept me interested with their story. The dynamics worked. The cinematography was okay. Some shots seemed very different in a lot of scenes, which at times breaks the flow and pacing of the movie. Although, the shots in South Korea were pleasing to the eye. An overall fun romantic comedy. Relatable and not terrible. A big 7 out of 10. Maybe a longer running time would add more to the supporting characters and fix the pacing a little but overall enjoyed this movie.

One of the worst Filipino film in recent memory

"My Ex and Whys" is nothing but a rehashed and recycle formula from all the Filipino ROM-com films. If you never seen a Filipino ROM-com film then you might like this. Everything is in the air a character break up and falling in love again, a main characters friends who frequently voices what to do, a tourist place where characters visit or if not fun moments there, a quotable lines where characters throwing to the audience and a chasing scene at the last film. The acting might be OK , even the cinematography but as a whole I find the film so awful as an escapism film. I think both Liza Soberano and Enrique Gills needs much better film than this. This is one of the worst Filipino Film I've seen in recent memory!

a waste of time and money

Filipino cinema is surely dying, this is living proof of that. If I could've given this a negative score, i would've given it -1000 (and thats being generous). The characters were one-dimensional and very stereotypical. The conflicts were shallow. The only good thing in it was Sandara Park and Liza Soberano's face. Thanks for nothing :---)

It's not as bad as one star... So I give it three.

I watched the movie on the home video release. My Ex and Whys make much more sense with the deleted and extended scenes. Some (of the most) important parts were cut. Throughout the movie, it felt like some pieces were missing and that they just jump scenes. The picture was also inconsistent. An example is when Cali and Gio were under the trees in Nami Island, Cali's shot were in a crisp slow motion. While Gio's shot was in normal speed. The slow motion were also shot inconsistenty; some shots were crisp with like 1000FPS and some were 15FPS and both frame rates were made into slow motion. And we all hate that slow frame rate and slow motion combination. Blurriness is just... ugh! The story itself was kind of an extension of ideas. Yes, it was long, but, no, the ideas are not original. Screenplay is slightly better than most Filipino movies because of some originality there, but most of the screenplay are recycled lines (like the story). I just hope Filipinos just step up their plots soon enough! The picture and the actors starring will not save the movie every time. In this case, because the picture was a bit of an "upgrade" than other Filipino movies, I give it a 3. Acting has become very cheesy too, but hey, what's a Filipino movie without being cheesy?!
