Richard Gadd and Jamie Bell are set to star in HBO and BBC’s upcoming drama series.
Gadd and Bell will star as estranged ‘brothers’ in the new series, which was originally titled “Lions” and is now titled “Half Man.” The six-episode series will start production in 2025 in Scotland.
The series follows Niall (Bell) and Ruben (Gadd) after Ruben shows up at Niall’s wedding, which leads to an “explosion of violence that catapults us back through their lives,” per the official logline.
The series will span nearly 40 years from the 1980s to present day, following the brothers’ relationship from their meeting as teenagers to their falling out as adults – with all the good, bad, terrible, funny, angry, and challenging moments along the way, according to the logline. “It will capture the wild energy of a changing city – a changing world, even – and try to get to the bottom of the difficult question…...

Since premiering on Netflix this month, Baby Reindeer has taken the world by storm, following its shocking, hilarious, painful, and devastating narrative. While a work of fiction, the story took inspiration from the series creator and lead Richard Gadd’s real-life experiences of being stalked and abused during his 20s, and his one-man stage show.
Per Gadd, the ending of the show is the most truthful scene in the acclaimed drama, as the actor stressed that it delved into a side of abuse that isn’t often explored in television.

Daniel Mays has discussed the debate surrounding whether straight actors should be able to play gay roles.
The Des and White Lines actor, who played gay rights campaigner Peter Wildeblood in the BBC’s 2017 series Against the Law, said he was “shocked” by screenwriter Russell T Davies’s decision to only cast gay actors for gay roles in his groundbreaking Aids drama It’s a Sin.
“At the end of the day, you just want to play a part,” Mays told The Telegraph. “I thought It’s a Sin was an extraordinary piece of work, one of the best dramas I’ve seen in recent years.
“Russell T Davies is an exceptional writer. And it was his gig. And he was like, well, every one of these actors in it has to be gay.
“And I was really shocked at that, because I had an amazing experience playing Peter Wildeblood in Against the Law.

“The Crown” won only one of its three races at the 2018 BAFTA TV Awards on May 13 when Vanessa Kirby claimed the supporting actress prize for her riveting portrayal of Princess Margaret. While this lavish historical drama had taken home three BAFTAs at last month’s TV Craft Awards, it was bested here for Drama Series by another period piece, “Peaky Blinders.” And although Claire Foy has already collected a Golden Globe and SAG Award for capturing the essence of Queen Elizabeth II, she lost Best Drama Actress to Molly Windsor who won for the docudrama “Three Girls,” which was named Best Miniseries. Victoria star Leo Suter, Outlander’s Stuart Harris and Darkest Hour’s Imogen King have joined the cast of the second season of Clique after U.S. network Pop boarded the show.
As Deadline revealed earlier this year, the show was handed a second season by BBC Three and Pop. Filming has now begun on the drama, created by Skins’ Jess Brittain, in Edinburgh, with a number of new faces joining the cast.
While the first season, which saw Holly, played by Synnove Karlsen, drawn to a group of alluring, confident but troubled young women, the second will see her encounter a radically different clique, this time a band of brothers.
Suter, who also starred in Jack Whitehall’s Bad Education, will be joined by The Hollow Crown’s Barney Harris, Outlander’s Stuart Campbell alongside King, Mary, Queen of Scots’ Izuka Hoyle and newcomers Jyuddah Jaymes and Nicholas Nunn.
