Squid Game season 2 introduces a new manager after The Front Man surprisingly decides to join the games. The cast of Squid Game season 2 includes Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, and Wi Ha-joon, who all reprise their roles from the show's first season. In addition to the returning actors, Park Hee-soon joins the cast of Squid Game season 2 as the temporary manager. Park Hee-soon is a popular South Korean actor who has starred in movies such as Seven Days, The Scam, and 1987: When the Day Comes.
In addition to his film roles, Park Hee-soon received international acclaim for the 2021 Netflix K-drama series My Name. Therefore, Park Hee-soon was a welcome addition to the cast of Squid Game's second season. However, he does not get as much screen time as other new characters in Squid Game season 2. As soon as “Everything Everywhere All at Once” became this year’s Oscar nominations leader with 11 bids in 10 categories, pundits began pointing to the unfortunate fact that only one-third of 21st century films that got the most nominations have actually gone on to win Best Picture. However, the prospect of it becoming the first entrant on that list since 2017’s “The Shape of Water” has been increasingly bolstered by outpourings of industry support, most notably in the form of a record-breaking four SAG Award wins. Along with its crucial victories at this year’s PGA and DGA Awards, it appears primed to defy the historic odds.

‘The Storms of Jeremy Thomas’ Film Review: Documentary Is the Ultimate Self-Referential Cannes Movie
At the age of just 36, British producer Jeremy Thomas won the 1987 Best Picture Oscar for his work in bringing Bernardo Bertolucci’s sumptuous epic “The Last Emperor” to the screen.
His has been a golden movie career ever since, producing films from “Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence” to “Sexy Beast,” “Stealing Beauty,” “Naked Lunch” and “Only Lovers Left Alive.” But as Mark Cousins’ affectionate yet thoughtful documentary “The Storms of Jeremy Thomas” shows, Thomas has always leax a charmed life — “there was once was a prince,” is how the narration begins — and now Cousins is along for the ride.
Quite literally. Because one of Thomas’ annual traditions is to drive from his Oxfordshire home all the way down to Cannes to arrive at his usual suite at the Carlton Hotel in time for opening night. Cousins joins him in the passenger seat, taking his cameras (and us) with them on Thomas’ pilgrimage to the 2019 festival.

Released three years, ago, the geopolitical action-thriller Steel Rain was a solid success on the charts but one that was completely overshadowed by two films that hit theaters within a fortnight of its release, Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds and 1987: When the Day Comes. Given its closed narrative and what was a positive but muted reception, it hardly seemed a likely candidate for the sequel treatment, still a rarity in the Korean film industry. Yet, three years later that's exactly what we got, but what's even more surprising is that despite returning with the same director, stars and theme, Steel Rain 2: Summit completely reinvents itself and manages to surpass its predecessor in almost every way. Tensions are high in Fear East...

Following on from a July where they added a large number of horror titles to their catalogue, Hulu have now made available even more great outings from the genre. As with all the major streaming players, keeping subscribers happy with new content during this Covid-19 year has been crucial, especially given the new competitors that have sprung up in recent months, further splintering film rights. Hulu are usually pretty reliable in terms of diversity, though, and have added some particularly strong horror titles for August.
Among the highlights for new movies is the original 1988 Child’s Play, which introduced the murderous Chucky to the world in a film that arguably remains the high-point of the franchise. A reasonably realistic setting, a convincing child performance and some excellent effects work make Child’s Play a classic of the period and more than worth a rewatch. And with the Chucky series on the way,...

Cj Entertainment, Korea's leading entertainment conglomerate, and producer of Bong Joon-ho's ground-breaking, multiple Oscar-winning film Parasite, has identified its next English language remake, announcing today that the company will finance and produce an English language remake of genre bending Korean film Save the Green Planet, alongside Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen's Square Peg production banner.
A film that has achieved modern cult classic status since its release in 2003, the uniquely offbeat, black comedy, sci-fi thriller Save the Green Planet was written and directed by Joon-hwan Jang (Cj Entertainment's 2017 political thriller 1987: When the Day Comes), and lived up to its promise as something nobody has seen before, or can describe easily. Jang is attached to direct the English language remake. Will Tracy has been tapped to write the adapted screenplay.
Executive producers are Cj Group Vice Chairwoman Miky Lee, Cj Entertainment's Young-ki Cho and Jerry Ko. Producers are Francis Chung,...

The Florence Korea Film Festival is back on the 19th of March 2020. Now in its 18th edition, it’s a moment of well-deserved celebration and recognition for South Korean cinema which – as every year – is presented with the usual enthusiasm and pride.
Guest of honor is the star Cho Jin-woong, an extraordinary interpreter with one of the most formidable careers of his generation to his credit. From a terrible “bad guy” in numerous thriller films, in recent years he has explored more dramatic and intimate roles with unchanged talent. A retrospective and a master class will be dedicated to him. Cho Jin-woong is also the protagonist of the opening film “Black Money” by Master Chung Ji-young.
“Parasite” is scheduled as an event out of competition: an opportunity to watch, or watch again, on the big screen a film that has already entered the history of cinema.
