A very enjoyable mania phenomenal in places

Fast and furious opening match high speed 3 way intercontinental title match Seth Rollins Miz and Finn Balor with the Irishman in his first Wrestlemania open mania in style. Asuka flair smack down women's title Queen v empress keeping the standards high for the event in another very good match with some amazing moves and a nice show of respect at its conclusion. Fatal 4 way for United States title this was a poor match with a soft finish. Then it's was time to play the game as always a big Wrestlemania entrance by Triple h & Stephanie V Kurt angel & Ronda Rousey Team Olympic athletes . This was areal fun adventure.timing and selling not perfect by Rousey yet but looking back on this match shows just how far she came in one year will be headlining the main event of Wrestlemania with flair and lynch in an awesome match. Tag team titles three very different tag teams could have made for a better match. Cena tried calling out the deadman for a Wrestlemania moment . Will he return one year on from a defeat removed his hat and jacket and placed them in the Centre of the ring as if to hang up his gloves. Answer the call or Rest In Peace. No spoilers here. Uninteresting return of Daniel Bryan in tag team match. Bliss Jax for raw women's championship two very different style an interesting well fought match. This should have been the main event AJ Styles Shinsuke Nakamura electric energy level in the ring . Atmosphere in the crowd was raising the roof from the entrances this was a main event feel that would not be recovered for the matches that followed . The stars did not disappoint The highlight of the event. Strowman will pick a partner from the crowd for a tag team title match. Brock Reigns final match of the night felt like the event peaked two matches back and was to good to have matches follow it

WrestleMania: Actually managed to be worse than I expected

WWE pay per views over the past few years have had the habit of being hugely mixed bags. They tend to be a royal crapfest with sprinklings of decency and Wrestlemania 34 was the same thing.

I usually break these things down but its 5am and the main event was so bad it's given me a migraine so I'll merely summarise.

Quality of wrestling, below par. And considering it included the in ring return of Daniel Bryan and a match between AJ & Nakamura that's pretty astounding.

Outcomes? A combination of logical, to stupid to mind blowingly moronic.

So what came out of the ppv that was actually good? Well Ronda Rousey proved her critics wrong and actually delivered a really good performance! The main event though dire had a very unexpected outcome that put a smile on my face and the whole thing wasn't as predictible as expected.

Regardless this was Wrestlemania, the showcase of the immortals and had absolutely no excuse for being quite as much of a mess as it was.

    The Good:

    Ronda Rousey

    Unpredictible (For a change)

    The Bad:

    Bray Wyatts anti-climatic return

    Cruiserweight finale embarassment

    Constant John Cena reactions

    Adverts during matches

    Record number of announcer botches

Some of the booking decisions were bizzare and highly illogical

    3D graphics were dumb

    Pointless Elias section

Kid Rock couldn't even be bothered to show up

    Brauns partner, really!?

Things I Learnt From This PPV:

When you do a tournament for a title and it culminates at the biggest show of the year and nobody cares about it.........you know you have problem

Saying that two wrestlers know one another intimately is maybe a bad call

Booker T saying Cedric Alexander may be the most talented person in the locker room is the dumbest thing he's said yet, and he talks a lot of crap

    Future of music, really?!?!

If you want to know the state of the WWE just remember Kid Rock is in the WWE Hall Of Fame and THE Rock isn't

Shane needs to stop wrestling, he's an embarassment

I can't be the only one who wanted Braun Strowman to turn on his partner, right?

    • Trivia
The fan Braun Strowman picked out of the crowd to be his tag team partner against Sheamus and Cesaro was Nicholas Cone, the 10-year-old son of WWE referee John Cone.
    • Goofs
During the Cruiserweight Championship match, as the ref was counting, he was clearly looking down and Mustafa Ali was blocking his view of it had he been looking up, and would never have seen Cedric Alexander put his foot on the bottom rope. This clearly shows it was part of the script.
