Demi Moore was greeted with great cheers in the Golden Globes press room Sunday after winning her first trophy for Best Actress – Comedy or Musical, and the “banger” acceptance speech — as an Australian journo called it tonight backstage — about how she overcame midlife career odds leading to her comeback in The Substance.
Many of the reporters here yearned for “Moore” food for thought from the 1990s blockbuster star, who put down her measuring stick in the second chapter of her career.

Michael Strahan is speaking up after days of backlash.
Earlier this week, we reported on the bizarre Michael Strahan “controversy” surrounding his participation in a Veteran’s Day tribute for Fox Sports.
It was a little difficult to understand the vitriol that the TV news anchor and retired athlete received.
Unfortunately, Michael has had to directly address the incident (if one can even call it that). He’s handling this with more tact and grace than his detractors necessarily deserve.

The manga industry is no stranger to controversies, but when beloved creators themselves fall from grace, it leaves a deep scar on both fans and the medium itself. The news of Rurouni Kenshin creator Nobuhiro Watsuki being convicted of possessing child p**nography shocked the manga community to its core. But to the dismay of many, his career quickly resumed with the serialization of the Hokkaido Arc continuing shortly after.

But this time, many other legendary mangakas have caught themselves too deep into Watsuki’s controversy. The exhibition for Rurouni Kenshin’s 30th anniversary has sparked an uproar among fans as these 37 mangakas are contributing to an event honoring Watsuki’s work. The backlash, especially against Eiichiro Oda, who holds a near-legendary status in the manga world, has been particularly vocal.

This is the kind of hour I can get behind every week.
A nice blend of action laughs, relationship exploration, and drama made Rescue Hi-Surf Season 1 Episode 4 the best hour yet.
Have they found their footing? It may still be too early to tell, but this is the kind of episode the show should aim for.
(Zach Dougan/Fox)
Thus far, the series has relied on a big overall rescue to kick things off or dominate much of the hour.
Here, a series of rescues made it feel more like 9-1-1 or a comparable procedural, where various emergencies played out and allowed for different forms of rescue.
This approach allowed for action while also injecting some humor into things. Em even met a potential love connection while saving a life.
Em is the team member who’s competent and about her business and goes above and beyond. She’s...

The 30th anniversary should be a grand celebration for any series. Although, the same can’t be said about Rurouni Kenshin, given its creator’s controversial track record. A few years back, Nobuhiro Watsuki landed himself in some serious controversies. His actions were severe enough to have charges placed against him.

Globally, fear has been showcased differently around the world, but Japanese horror stands out. At the heart of this genre lies Junji Ito, a visionary artist who has taken this genre to a whole new level. Traditionally, the horror genre relies on the typical jump scare, but Ito-Sensei has his own ideology.

The manga artist believes in showcasing fear with cultural beliefs and psychological terror sewn perfectly with grotesque imagery that would petrify one with fear. To put it simply, the artist is the Eiichiro Oda of this genre, as his works are renowned among fans of this genre because he can really make you feel unsettled.
As a result, at the end of each work, fans would be compelled to think about the madness they had just read. With meticulous attention to detail and the obsession of taking fear to a whole new level.

As part of an agreement struck in June, the Prince Estate and Sony’s Legacy Recordings today launched their first round of catalog digital releases with a set of 23 albums originally issued between 1995 and 2010.
The recordings, which include such popular albums as “The Gold Experience,” “3121” and “Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic” as well as a new 37-track compilation called “Prince Anthology 1995-2010,” had been largely unavailable for many years. All are now available across all major streaming services and digital service providers. Many of these albums are available for the first time for streaming and download, adding more than 300 songs to the artist’s online in-print catalogue.
The recordings date from the latter half of Prince career, in which the intensely prolific artist released as many as four albums a year, either through his own labels or via one-off deals with indies or major labels.

As Variety reported exclusively earlier this month, Prince’s estate and Sony Music Entertainment have inked an exclusive distribution agreement. The deal, officially announced today, includes 35 previously released album titles from the artist’s catalog — several of which are among the best-selling titles from his original 19-year stint on Warner Bros. Records. Those albums, which include “1999,” “Diamonds and Pearls,” “Sign O’ the Times” and nine others, will move over to Sony in 2021.
The Prince catalog covered under the new agreement will be distributed by Legacy Recordings, a division of Sme, with worldwide rights beginning immediately to 19 previously released album titles originally released between 1995 and 2010. The list of album titles includes “The Gold Experience” (1995), “Emancipation” (1996), “Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic” (1999), “The Rainbow Children” (2001) and “3121” (2006), as well as titles originally distributed by Sony including “Musicology” (2004) and “Planet Earth” (2007).
