Christian Louboutin’s Degrastrass pumps, featuring transparent vinyl, supple leather, and hand-placed Swarovski crystals, have become a red carpet staple for celebrities looking to add elegance and sparkle to their ensembles. These iconic heels have been seen on stars across the entertainment world, consistently stealing the spotlight.

In addition to Mila Kunis, who dazzled at the People’s Choice Awards, and Britney Spears, who stunned at the GLAAD Media Awards, other celebrities like Tatiana Maslany and Jessica Chastain have showcased the Degrastrass pumps in show-stopping looks. Daniel Brühl is getting back behind the camera to direct “Break,” a biopic about the tennis champion Gottfried von Cramm whose rise to stardom in the 1930s saw him face off with the Nazi regime in his native Germany.

Alongside some of the biggest streaming apps available now, Paramount+ has entered the highly competitive market and is looking to make its mark. Originally launched as CBS All Access in 2014, the ViacomCBS owned service was rebranded as Paramount+ on March 4, 2021, following the 2019 re-merger of CBS and Viacom. With 36 million subscribers currently, Paramount Plus is looking to expand even more. They will be adding over one thousand new movie titles this week alone.

And the move seems very necessary. HBO Max recently merged with Discovery+. Disney, Netflix, and Prime Video are available globally with millions of subscribers. Paramount+ will start streaming Paramount Pictures' theatrical releases after a 45-day window in movie theaters. So, you can expect to stream A Quiet Place Part 2 from July. Paramount's sci-fi thriller Infinite, starring Mark Wahlberg and Chiwetel Ejiofor will be exclusively streaming on the platform from June 10.

Paramount+ said Monday that it will significantly expand its content offering to more than 2,500 titles by the end of summer, starting with the exclusive premiere of the sci-fi action film Infinite, which will make its debut June 10. It stars Mark Wahlberg and Chiwetel Ejiofor and is directed by Antoine Fuqua.

On August 20, the service will premiere the kid-friendly Paw Patrol: The Movie the same day it hits theaters — a first for the streaming service. Paramount+ will also become the streaming home for A Quiet Place Part II following its theatrical release.

George A. Romero was a horror revolutionary. Not only is his work an example of quality filmmaking and storytelling, but he pushed the horror genre into new territory, bridging the gap between the ‘50s horror icons like the Universal Monsters and the more modern, politically charged thrillers of the ‘70s and ‘80s. But between the work done on two iconic horror films, “Night of the Living Dead” and “Dawn of the Dead,” Romero actually shot a feature, “Amusement Park,” that has never been released.

Shudder has released the official trailer for The Amusement Park, a long-lost movie directed by late horror legend George A. Romero. While most fans typically know Romero best for Night of the Living Dead and his subsequent zombie movies, not everyone is aware of The Amusement Park, which was made in the early 70s but withheld from a wide release until recently. You can watch the trailer below.

The little-seen movie will headline Shudder's Summer of Chills a line-up of new premieres hitting the horror streaming service every week. Some of the other titles on the way include Caveat, an eerie, slow-building, cat-and-mouse thriller; The Boy Behind the Door, from Justin Powell and David Charbonier making their directorial debut; and the SXSW favorite Jakob's Wife, starring horror icon Barbara Crampton as a housewife turned hungry vampire.

The premium streaming service for horror, thriller, and the supernatural, announced the acquisition of the highly anticipated movie this morning. The Amusement Park, the formerly lost movie from trailblazing horror icon Romero, will stream for the first time in history this summer. In addition, Shudder released the movie's poster, which was created by Polish artist Aleksander Wasilewski.

The Amusement Park was recently discovered and restored 46 years after its completion by the George A. Romero Foundation. It is produced by and overseen by Suzanne Desrocher-Romero.

Shudder has acquired rights to George A. Romero’s “The Amusement Park,” the film from the “Night of the Living Dead” helmer that was considered lost until a print surfaced in 2018.

The AMC Networks’ horror-centric streaming service will make the movie available in North America, U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand this summer.

After a print of “Amusement Park” was tracked down by Daniel Kraus, longtime collaborator with director Guillermo del Toro, in 2018, the 1973 film was restored in 4K by IndieCollect in New York City.

“Amusement Park” was commissioned by the Lutheran Society with the charter make a movie about shoddy treatment of the elderly in contemporary society. But Romero’s 52-minute production was never released because the nonprofit group found it to be too gruesome for mainstream audiences.

“Amusement Park” stars Lincoln Maazel as an elderly man who finds himself increasingly disoriented and isolated during a visit to the amusement park.

The project is understood to be among the biggest-budget films to ever come out of Germany, with production set to begin in March. Former Washington Post journalist Ian Stokell and producer and actor Lesley Paterson penned the script, which is based on the classic novel about World War I by former German infantryman Erich Maria Remarque, published in 1929 and taught in curricula around the world for its sobering account of the futility of war.

Remarque’s book was previously adapted by Lewis Milestone shortly after its publication, famously winning the 1930 Academy Award for best picture and best director. A Golden Globe-winning TV movie from Delbert Mann followed in 1979.

When an actor is accused of wrongdoing and the film or TV project is already under way — or even wrapped — sometimes directors and producers go back and reshoot their scenes with a recast replacement.

After Kevin Spacey was accused of sexual misconduct, director Ridley Scott went back into production on “All the Money in the World” and reshot all of the actor’s scenes, this time with Christopher Plummer playing billionaire J. Paul Getty. (Plummer received an Oscar nomination for the role.)

BBC had already shot a new adaptation of the Agatha Christie classic with “Gossip Girl” alum Ed Westwick as the rough-around-the-edges son of a wealthy family. When did American kids movies become so preoccupied with death? When did being a beloved relative in a colorful animated children’s adventure become as much of a death sentence as being a teenager in a “Final Destination” film? Loss and the lessons that come with it are somewhat foundational to a genre that’s still associated with the likes of “Bambi” and — more recently — “The Lion King,” but over the last few years it’s started to feel as if feature-length cartoons have embraced their function as surrogate grieving counselors for young people who need a spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down.

This is not a complaint: As someone raised on the grief-adjacent “My Neighbor Totoro” (and comforted much later in life by the wisdom and beauty of a film like “Kubo and the Two Strings”), I know that steering children through their worst sadness is...

The absurd path of this silly and rather enjoyable animated movie is all the more startling because it turned out kind of…decent. It all started in 2010 when screenwriter and eventual co-director Scott Christian Sava wrote an innocuous family comedy about a man who saves his family’s circus with the help of some magic cookies that can turn people into animals. The journey to get it made was almost as strange: “Animal Crackers” scored investment from Harvey Weinstein three years later, a flotilla of Chinese firms agreed to put up the rest of the money, “Mulan” co-director Tony Bancroft came aboard to help steer the ship, and “Despicable Me” character designer Carter Goodrich was hired to help with the animation. With those pieces in play, a rather astonishing variety of famous voices came aboard to help bring the story to life.

Hollywood films are more inclusive of LGBTQ characters than they’ve ever been, but GLAAD says there is still much to be done, slapping all eight of the major Hollywood studios with a grade of “insufficient” or worse when it comes to representation of LGBTQ characters on screen.

That’s because while GLAAD has counted a slight rise in gay, lesbian or bisexual characters in the top-grossing movies of 2019 compared to the year prior, more than half of those characters received less than three minutes of total screen time. And transgender characters – for the third year in a row – remain completely absent from major studio films.

It all comes from GLAAD’s latest Studio Responsibility Index, the eighth year in which the organization has conducted the study. It found that in 2019, a record 22 of 118 films (18.6%) released by Hollywood’s major distributors had LGBTQ characters compared to just 20 of 110 films in...

Starting with Night of the Living Dead in 1968, the filmmaker’s work both established and defined many of the tropes associated with shuffling hordes of the undead that are still widely used across various forms of media in the modern day.

Although Romero would continue adding to his zombie collection over the next four decades, suffering from greatly diminished returns in the process as 2009’s Survival of the Dead arrived to little fanfare before quickly being forgotten about completely, he didn’t work exclusively within one of horror’s most popular sub-genre’s either.

The name George A. Romero is revered in the realm of horror. He’s the filmmaker who single-handedly created what modern audiences know as the zombie film. And through his works such as “Dawn of the Dead” and “Night of the Living Dead,” Romero devised the blueprint for adding social commentary to a genre that is mainly known for its frights. With the filmmaker’s passing in 2017, it was believed that fans had seen the last new work from Romero.

“Lamya’s Poem” is an inspiring and timely tale about a 12-year-old Syrian refugee girl named Lamya. When she flees the violence of her country, she is given a book of poetry of the famous 13th-century poet Rumi. As the perils of her journey mount, the book becomes a magical gateway where she meets Rumi when he was a boy and also a refugee fleeing the violence of his time. The film charts the story of a 12-year-old Syrian refugee who is given a book of poetry of classic 13th-century Persian poet, Rumi. As the perils of her journey mount, the book becomes a magical gateway.

“The wound is the place where the light enters you,” is one of Rumi’s famous quotes, which inspired the film’s writer-director Alexander Kronemer.

It’s not a stretch to say Universal’s “Cats” and Paramount’s “Sonic the Hedgehog” had two of the most polarizing movie trailers in recent memory. Both caught fire online for all the wrong reasons after fans on social media torched the questionable CGI.

“Cats,” an adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical, used a new science called “digital fur technology” to bring the four-legged felines to the big screen. The expensive CGI, which had been teased relentlessly, would have been too costly to completely retool before it was unleashed over the holidays. The film became a box office disaster and lost $100 million theatrically after factoring in marketing costs.

“Sonic” could have easily suffered the same fate. But rather than releasing the movie when it was initially slated to debut last November, Paramount delayed the film so director Jeff Fowler could redesign the animated character, whose creepy teeth initially...

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are making the most of some child-free time at the Sundance Film Festival.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today that 344 feature films are eligible for the 2019 Academy Awards.

To be eligible for the consideration, the films must open in a commercial motion picture theater in Los Angeles County by Dec. 31, and begin a minimum run of seven consecutive days. Academy rules also state that a feature-length motion picture must have a running time of more than 40 minutes and must have been exhibited theatrically on 35mm or 70mm film, or in a qualifying digital format.

Nominations for the 92nd Academy Awards will be announced on Monday, Jan. 13, 2020. The ceremony takes place on Sunday, Feb. 9, airing live from Hollywood on ABC.

Amazon Prime Video has confirmed that the third season of the Emmy-winning comedy series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” will debut on the streaming service in December. Also set to return is the sci-fi series “The Expanse” for season 4 and the Indian import “Inside Edge” for a second edition.

Look for the premiere of the feature film “The Aeronauts,” a fanciful tale of Victorian balloonists which reunites the Oscar-winning Eddie Redmayne with his “Theory of Everything” leading lady Felicity Jones. Also scheduled to start streaming is Joe Talbot‘s acclaimed drama “The Last Black Man in San Francisco.”

And in association with the NFL Channel, Amazon will continue to stream “Thursday Night Football,” with a new game airing live each week.

Below is the full schedule of everything that is coming to Amazon Prime Video in December 2019. Unlike Netflix, Amazon does not disclose the shows and movies leaving the service in any given month.

With the holidays around the corner, Amazon Prime Video is adding an abundance of movies and TV shows to stream while relaxing at home.

A majority of fresh content will drop on the first of the month, starting with Cameron Crowe’s “Almost Famous” and Kevin Bacon’s “Footloose” on Dec. 1. For superhero enthusiasts, “Hancock” and “Bumblebee” will drop on the first of the month as well.

Newer offerings such as “What Men Want” and “The Last Black Man in San Francisco” will be added to Amazon Prime Video later in December.

Amazon original series like “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “Clifford” and “Inside Edge” will each add new seasons on Dec. 6, while a fourth season of “The Expanse” will hit Dec. 13.

Hulu is providing some action-packed options next month for those looking for a switch-up on holiday cheer.

The streaming service will debut “Reprisal,” a hyper-noir story that follows a relentless femme fatale (Abigail Spencer) who, after being left for dead, sets out to take revenge against her brother and his bombastic gang of gearheads. It also launches Season 3 of “Marvel’s Runaways” on Dec. 13. If that wasn’t enough, several movies from the “Fast & Furious” franchise are hitting Hulu, plus both “Kill Bill: Volume 1” and “Kill Bill: Volume 2.”

Those dedicated to consuming holiday-only content can watch NBC’s “Holidays With the Houghs” with Julianne and Derek Hough, a song-and-dance performance show featuring special guest artist performances. Ellen DeGeneres will also be giving gifts with the help of celebrity friends on her “Ellen’s Greatest Night of Giveaways” special.

Chinese animation “Nezha” continued its run as China’s biggest hit of the summer, maintaining its top spot at the box office even 25 days into its run with a weekend gross of $41.2 million. The tally made it this weekend’s fourth highest grossing film worldwide.

The flop of Tencent spinoff company China Literature Media’s new animation “The King’s Avatar: For the Glory” on its debut made it clear that just trotting out any old locally-made cartoon based on a well-known IP isn’t enough to spark “Nezha”-style box office domination. It grossed just $9.3 million, according to data from the Artisan Gateway consultancy, despite being an adaptation of a very popular online novel about an professional e-sports player that has top ratings for fan engagement. Stx Entertainment’s “UglyDolls” is set to hit Chinese theaters on Aug. 8, despite rising tensions between China and the U.S. over their trade war. China’s Alibaba Pictures is a co-producer and co-financier of the film.

The movie was originally announced as having a mainland release date of May 31. No reason has been given for its rescheduling.

Alibaba announced its involvement in the film in January, with the company’s president, Zhang Wei, expressing excitement that the partnership would allow Alibaba to “build out this beloved global intellectual property for years to come.” But the movie flopped in the U.S., where it was critically panned. Directed by Kelly Asbury (“Shrek 2”) on a $45 million budget, and featuring the voices of Emma Roberts, Kelly Clarkson and Nick Jonas, “UglyDolls” has grossed less than $20 million in the U.S. since its May 3 debut.
