Hi-Fear is the final instalment of the trilogy that started in 2013 with Hi-8 and was followed in 2018 by Hi-Death. These anthologies have been tributes to the glory days of shot-on-video horror and were made by many of the pioneers of that movement. This time out, the framing segment “What Are You Afraid Of?”, written and directed by Brad Sykes from a story by Brad and Josephina Sykes introduces us to Natalie, an artist tasked with creating the splash pages for four tales of horror for the comic Hi-Fear.

The term creature feature was popularized with TV blocks like Shock and Creature Features that broadcasted older movies like Universal Studios' The Wolf-Man, Dracula, The Mummy, Frankenstein, etc.

These movies featured a paranormal creature(s) that were either discovered and/or resulted from a human being transformed after becoming infected by said creature. They usually aired on Friday or Saturday nights. The '80s was a booming period for horror and produced a plethora of creature features that are today regarded as classics.

A stand-up comedian who wrote for Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons, Dana Gould embraces horror as well as humor through his longtime love of creature features, Famous Monsters of Filmland, and things that go bump in the night. It's fitting, then, that Gould, along with a cast of fellow comedians, is bringing both laughs and scares to the stage in New York this weekend for a live reading of Ed Wood's Plan 9 From Outer Space at the first annual Sleepy Hollow International Film Festival.

One of John Carpenter's favorite horror movies (and one that he also remade as 1982's classic The Thing), 1951's The Thing from Another World is coming to Blu-ray with a new HD master from Warner Archive.

A specific release date for The Thing from Another World Blu-ray has not yet been announced, but Blu-ray.com reveals that the new home media release is expected to come out later this year, and Amazon has it listed for a November 20th release.

According to Blu-ray.com, The Thing from Another World Blu-ray will include the following special features and specs:
