Although there are many templates in this cinematic world, some movies try to get the better of it. One such movie is Adhe Kangal.

The plot is normal one but the way the director treated it, creating very nice sub-plots around it with all the casts playing credible role in it.. This is what makes the director, director!

All the characters in the movie have their own importance. The main characters performed their role to their fullest extent! No more, no less.

Pros - BGM, sharp screenplay, Characterization, Performance of lead actors.

Its a very well made movie that one can surely watch in theaters. Worth the try.

This is an off the beat Mystery movie. Though, the tempo and overall proceedings is low key with a "TV serial" feel to it at times (though definitely not shrill!), it keeps ones attention engaged thru the end. It starts of innocuously, with a blind Chef getting besotted by a lady customer who mysteriously visits him at the closing time of the restaurant. A lady journalist who is in love with the chef forms the third character of this plot, but this is no triangle. Without giving too much of the plot away, interesting things happen with an accident to Chef recovering his sight, the lady customer vanishing etc. All leading to a hunt to find out the truth. There is a supporting act by a cop, whose characterization is interesting and well acted too.

Overall, a good watch, without any vulgarity, violence. Well-acted with a bare minimum star cast, technical credits just good enough to keep things moving, background score staying in the background (not creating artificial noise). I liked all the three lead actors doing their part well to sail the movie thru.

The initial few minutes constructs a triangular love story, but Varun's accident kick starts the thriller in it. The second half of the movie was great especially the investigation part. Balasaravanan in the second half was a good add.

Though the plot is great, the screenplay looks a bit lagging for a thriller. One might feel the screenplay should have been a little tighter. The dialogues are direct and that punches out the thrill from the plot. Second half of the movie was the savior.

Adhe Kangal Kalaiyarasan as Varun shines. He has delivered what was needed for the role. Be it the blind chef or the one who search for his lady love, he excels. Janani Iyer as Sadhana was cute and perfected her character. But it was Sshivada who steals the show with her excellent acting and charming looks. Her mysterious smiles were added thrill. She is a great find to the industry.

This is Rohin Venkatesan's debut movie as a director. He has done a decent job. His portrayal of the female leads was great. Than romance the female leads have major contribution to the film. His narration in the second half needs applauding. A little more effort in the first half would have planted him as one of the best finds.

C.V.Kumar the producer of the flick should be appreciated for his trust in the debut directors and bringing them to the big stage. There are only few crowd pulling producers in the industry and Kumar is one among them.

The plot and few of the casts have saved the movie from the lagging screenplay. On the whole the movie is a decent thriller that needs a little touch up in the screenplay.

Good Movie. Everybody acted very well in the movie. Songs and BGM in the movie were not so good. The movie was not so interesting at 1st half. The movie was so interesting at 2nd half. The movie lagged a lot at 1st half. Good Movie.

Kollywood thrillers definitely worth watch even it's have average story this is also that type of movie...cudos to director there is no unwanted scenes that is the main plus point of the movie..kalaiarasan,shivada,janani,balasaravanan and other characters also good acting.. especially shivada & balasaravanan they both hold the second half.. cinematography also good.. editor done his job neatly..ghibran music also good especially shivada's bgm..worth watch with family & friends

Wonderful edge of the seat movie well directed by Venkatesan.

The plot is a simple, age-old con scheme of rich blind guys. But, it has been executed well though it is predictable. The casting was good and everyone has acted well. Ghibran has given a different background score for this film. Good movie to watch!!

A friend of mine recommended me to watch this film. Already knowing that it's a suspense film and an old and well acclaimed Tamil mystery film exists on the same name, I had some expectations. Little did I know, that this film would be a disappointment.

The story took so long to unravel that I almost fell asleep. I did expect some fast paced heart throbbing suspense after the intermission but the screenplay showed no improvement. It was maintaining it's slow predictable tone of the film.

Sometimes, it felt that the characters are acting too dumb just to elongate the run-time of this film. This film doesn't deserve the title 'Adhe Kangal' as the title and the story is irrelevant. I conclude by recommending this film to people who like slow paced films with predictable twist. Signing off, daretoreadme.

I donot know the language but I still enjoyed the movie. Not a great edge of seat thriller but a very simple and good thriller with good comic scenes. Comic scenes goes along with the flow of movie and does not disturb it. You should watch this movie.
