Not as good as the original

Kinda dissapointed with the direction of the storyline but its too early to decide whether its awful or not. So far, just average. Not as good as the original tbh. Its the continuation from the original series and maybe the 2nd movie. Recommended.

Sakura returns to collect a new set of cards

These comments assume people will have watched the original 'Cardcaptor Sakura' so will be familiar with the characters and the magical cards Sakura has collected. Watching this without watching the original might be rather confusing.

This series, made several years after the original, is set immediately after that original. Following a strange dream all of Sakura's cards turn clear and no longer work and her magical staff has changed. Once again strange things happen; the work of a new set of cards... the clear cards. With the help of her friends Sakura begins collecting these cards. The dreams continue; it would appear that Sakura's increasing powers haven't gone unnoticed.

I must admit I came to 'Cardcaptor Sakura' rather late but as an anime fan I wanted to watch this classic. I enjoyed the original and found this to be just as much fun. I like the fact that even though it was made twenty years later the makers didn't find it necessary to 'improve' character designs; this means one can watch this straight after the original without thinking it is too different. That isn't to say there are no changes... the cards, which are still similar in basic design, look great. The animation is also impressive. The ending does leave questions unanswered so hopefully we will get more in future. Overall I'd certainly recommend this to fans of the original; it was great seeing all the old characters back in a new story, which also introduces some new characters.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

Decent, but not as strong as the old one.

Asians' favorite character is back after 20 years!

As a kid, I was so obsessed with Sakura's beautiful costumes, and so as my other friends. I remembered the old time that how we rushed to go home and caught the TV schedules, collected the beautiful stickers and posters . We learned the introductory divination from Clow Cards to Tarot. It was a sweet and greedy childhood, we always wanted to collect more and more. It was great money making seasons to the sellers I guess, everything printed with Sakura, and we all buying it because everyone liked this animation from kindergarten kids like me to teenage girls.

And, this fever is still on fire after 20 years. The original Cardcaptor Sakura cartoon is still quite fashionable, it's not outdated when I watch some episodes from the old one that was made in 20 years ago. At least each episode tells a story, and the whole thing is inspiring full of positive energy, it's delightful.

The new cartoon is decent, but not strong as the old one. I don't know how to put into words, but probably that's the pain of growing up, happiness changed with age, many things become not amusing. I missed the old time, the simple joys that I could easily access from a cute cartoon tv shows. Also, it's true that the new magic array pattern is less fine compared to the old magic array.

Anyway, it's good to see the puppy love ending of Sakura and Li Syaoran, it fulfilled my childhood hope.

CUTE!

The modern animation style of this kawaii magical girl series greatly inspires me! I also love how Sonia Nevermind & Monophanie's English VA voices as Tomyo!

A huge iron between Japan's society and their fictional pieces of literature.

Despite Japan's unbalanced economic conditions for women, Most of the time, they create amazing games and shows, much better than American shows! With shows such as Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura being useful example of women power! And because of Japan's strict control of "equality" (like in the book "The Giver) society, the best theory is that anime, literature, and video games are the only acceptable way in Japan to experience how different and unique you are.

Nostalgia!

Picks up where the story left off with a modern twist to make it relevant for the new generation. Did not disappoint! Takes me back to my child hood in the best way.

An amazing series.

I took a but of a closer look at this dub so I'll be honest. I's awesome! While Natalie Hoover's a good choice for Tomoyo. She sounds whispery and quiet for her, and her high-pitched range fits her energetic mood to film Sakura . Jason Lebricht is very ill-fitting as Syoarin. I really like Monica Rial as Sakura. We know that she can pull off cute voices. All in all I'd say the Tsubasa VAs are what are pleasant. I'd saying it was a good move on Funimation's part to go with reprisals from the Reserve Chronicle. All in all it's a 9/10 dub.

Need more episodes!

It is beautifully designed, and the storyline is so pure and magical... I am grateful for this opportunity to watch my favorite childhood show as an adult! It delivered everything I hoped for and more.

I can't wait for the next season!

The Return of Sakura & Syaorun and the Classic Magical

100/10. More than Nostalgia felling, this show was spectacular for the new age.

Sakura & Syaorun was the greatest couple all of time.

Must watch and judge by yourself.

Good Enough

Sakura is a classic anime to watch if you are into anime. And even if you aren't, it's not impossible that you have heard of it. This season of the anime comes many many many years after the conclusion of the first season. And whether the first season was amazing, backed with action and a cute plot, this season is a disappointment. There are some elements of suspense to keep you going, but the anime focuses mainly on Sakura's school life, her bakind cakes and visiting friends. The new cards and villain doesn't add anything new to the mix and the second season feels more like a prequel to the third season, as it was more like and introduction to what it going to come next.
