On the heels of Hill Harper and Brandon Larracuente‘s departures as Drs. Marcus Andrews and Danny Perez, respectively, the ABC medical drama has recruited Kayla Cromer (Everything’s Gonna Be Okay) and Wavyy Jonez (Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.) for major recurring roles in the seventh and final season.

According to AMC President Dan McDermott, The Walking Dead franchise is focusing on how much is the "right amount" of The Walking Dead content following the end of the main show. Despite its 11-season journey, The Walking Dead’s story is not really over. Some of The Walking Dead’s most important and popular characters will return for separate spinoffs starting in 2023, and there will be at least three new stories for audiences to follow.

If The Walking Dead’s recent seasons were already being criticized for the slower pacing and divisive story decisions, continuing the franchise beyond the main show is risky. Even so, The Walking Dead’s popularity never faded away completely, especially towards beloved Walking Dead characters like Rick, Michonne, and Daryl. That being said, three Walking Dead new stories may be too much for audiences, as this risks overheating the franchise with content overload.

Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej left Buzzfeed in 2019. Their departure from Buzzfeed Unsolved left millions of fans heartbroken, but luckily the ghoul boys are back in the new YouTube channel Watcher with a new ghost-hunting series called Ghost Files.

The return of the hilarious and most beloved Internet ghost hunters has been an immediate success and their four released videos already reach millions of views. Ghost Files welcomes back the hilarious and successful paranormal investigators who guide audiences into questioning "are ghosts real?"

There's a certain nostalgia that comes with "Unsolved Mysteries." The show, in its original incarnation, brought mysterious tales of murders, disappearances, and of course, the supernatural. These stories were hosted by the singular presence of Robert Stack, who stalked around fog machine-heavy sets wearing a trench coat, as if he were really pounding the pavement and investigating these mysteries himself. I can distinctly remember huddling close to our boxy old TV at night, watching "Unsolved Mysteries" with all the lights off, and growing more and more terrified. It was a fun type of fear, even though it shouldn't have been. These were true stories of loss and death (and sometimes ghosts and aliens) that affected real people. In some cases, it ruined their lives. And yet, it was hard not to grow excited as Robert Stack's smooth, deep voice intoned horrors at every turn.

The Ghoul Boys are back! Six years ago, Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej launched into the pop culture conversation with their BuzzFeed Unsolved web series, which delved into unsolved true crime cases and sought to prove the existence of the supernatural—well, Ryan was trying to prove the existence, Shane was just along for the ride as the skeptic courting demonic possession at every turn. A year after the final season of Unsolved aired, Bergara and Madej have returned to the paranormal scene with Ghost Files, an exciting new series from Watcher, the production studio they founded with Steven Lim.

Last September, it was announced that the Netflix streaming service had ordered a third volume of their Unsolved Mysteries reboot, with the initial plan being for the new episodes to be released sometime in summer 2022. Well, those episodes are going to be a little later than expected, but most of them will be available to watch in time to add some chills to your Halloween season this year. Netflix has revealed that they will be releasing the episodes of Unsolved Mysteries volume 3 in three installments, with the release dates being October 18, October 25, and November 1. Each of those dates is a Tuesday.

Since the previous two volumes of this Unsolved Mysteries both consisted of six episodes, I’m assuming that volume 3 does as well – and if that’s the case, we’ll probably be getting two episodes each week.

Exclusive: Screen Gems has acquired the rights to Crypt TV’s horror Island of the Dolls, based on the infamous, true story of La Isla de las Munecas south of Mexico City, in a competitive situation.

Located in the channels of Xochimilco, La Isla has become a tourist attraction with a mysterious and horrifying history. For decades, dolls were placed all over the island by former owner Julian Santana Barrera, as he believed they would help chase away the spirit of a girl who had drowned nearby years before.

The island has previously been featured on the Travel Channel show Ghost Adventures, as well as BuzzFeed Unsolved. Jack Davis and Darren Brandl will produce the Island of the Dolls film for Crypt TV, alongside Ana de Diego of Spark & Riot, who brought the story to Crypt and was key in acquiring the rights. Michael Bitar is overseeing the project for Screen Gems.

Josh Duhamel has joined Season 2 of the Disney Plus series “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.”

Duhamel joins the show as a new character named Gavin Cole, a former NHL player turned coach. Described as inspirational, charming, and hardcore, he’s big on the hockey metaphor that applies to life. He runs the super-intense summer hockey institute where The Mighty Ducks land in Season 2.

Duhamel was recently seen in the Netflix series “Jupiter’s Legacy” and lent his voice to the anime series “Blade Runner: Black Lotus.” He will next be seen in the NBC limited series “The Thing About Pam,” which will debut on March 8. He will also appear in the upcoming Lionsgate film “Shotgun Wedding” in June 2022. Exclusive: Producer Steve Whitney and his company Tsw Films have purchased Suge Knight’s life rights with plans to develop a biopic on the infamous music mogul, bringing Nick Cassavetes and Anthony Thorne aboard to write the script.

The former music exec born Marion Hugh “Suge” Knight Jr. co-founded the iconic label Death Row Records in 1991 and is credited with bringing the subgenre of gangsta rap into the mainstream. Artists signed to the label included Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog and Tupac Shakur—and those three acts alone changed the face of hip hop with the release of the groundbreaking albums The Chronic, Doggystyle and All Eyez on Me. Knight’s label had enormous success with over 50 artists and profits of over $100 million a year, but fell into bankruptcy after the departure of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog, the murder of Tupac and the 2018 incarceration of Knight on charges of voluntary manslaughter.

The upcoming “2021 MTV EMAs” have unveiled a second group of artists set to perform during the Nov. 14 ceremony, including Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, Yungblud, Griff and Girl in Red. Sheeran recently tested positive for Covid-19, and was cleared to perform on “Saturday Night Live” after serving a quarantine period.

This year Sheeran is nominated for five awards, and will be performing at the awards for the third time. In 2015 he performed and hosted the awards in Milan after performing the year before when the ceremony was held in Glasgow.

“Star Trek: Prodigy,” the latest addition to the expanding universe of “Trek” series on Paramount Plus, is adding sci-fi heavyweights John Noble (“Fringe”) and Jimmi Simpson (“Westworld”) to its series regular cast, the streamer announced on Thursday.

Noble will voice the animated series’ lead villain, known as the Diviner, who rules the mining asteroid of Tars Lamora in a merciless quest to locate the U.S.S. Protostar, the mysteriously abandoned experimental Federation starship at the center of the show. Instead, a motley crew of six young aliens finds the ship, and learns from the emergency training hologram, Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), how to operate it and what the Federation stands for.

One of the Protostar’s fledgling crew happens to be the Diviner’s child, Gwyn (Ella Purnell), which no doubt complicates matters for her new compatriots, especially since the Diviner sees Gwyn as the heir to his legacy.

It’s almost inconceivable that Josh Duhamel did not suit up as a superhero until now. But Jupiter’s Legacy, premiering Friday, May 7 on Netflix, promises to prove worth the wait, he says.

Known to TV audiences from his roles on Las Vegas, Hulu’s 11.22.63, USA’s Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. and, yes, All My Children, Duhamel perhaps came closest to “superhero” fare with his role as Army Ranger William Lennox in the Transformers movie franchise. But even there, he played a mere (though badass) mortal who battled robot aliens.

“Unsolved Mysteries” has just released an update in the case of Alonzo Brooks, a 23-year-old Black man who was found dead a month after disappearing from a 2004 house party in La Cygne, Kansas.

According to the Netflix series’ official Twitter page, the FBI has learned of a second party that took place on the night Brooks disappeared and are now seeking more information.

“Update: The FBI learned of a second party in La Cygne, Kansas the night Alonzo Brooks disappeared,” the post reads. “Attendees left the party after a fight broke out, then headed to the Farmhouse where Alonzo was last seen. If you attended either party or know someone who did, please come forward.”

Brooks’ case was covered in Vol. 1 of Netflix’s reboot of the popular mystery series, which is known for investigating unsolved cases from around the world.

The first thing you might notice in Netflix’s Unsolved Mysteries Volume 2 trailer is the music. The familiar theme of the original, classic series, has been twisted into a cross between the themes to the film Halloween and The Exorcist. We can still make out the melody, but it is far more haunting in its new mix. The same can be said of the show.

The new iteration Unsolved Mysteries is haunting and serious, avoiding some of the cheesier aspects which endeared viewers to the original, which began airing in 1987. Unsolved Mysteries Volume 1 featured six episodes which began streaming in July. Unsolved Mysteries Volume 2’s second set of sixes premieres on Oct. 19. With only one more 6 to make it a devilish enumeration, it is a perfect way to celebrate Halloween.

“In six new episodes, Unsolved Mysteries profiles more unexplained disappearances, tragic events, and bizarre occurrences,” according to the official logline.

Exclusive: Genius: Aretha director-producer Anthony Hemingway is in talks to helm Train Man, a legal drama based on the true story of Darius McCollum, a man with Asperger syndrome whose fascination with subways and trains led to him posing as various New York City Metro officials in order to operate subway trains.

Despite allegedly having extensive knowledge of the NYC public transportation system, he was said to be rejected for employment. McCollum, who was arrested on several occasions, became a folk hero for people who are on the spectrum.

Simon Stephenson wrote the screenplay, which will follow the lawyer hired to defend McCollum. The long-gestating project at one point had Julia Roberts eyeing the lead. As of now, no cast is attached.

FilmNation and Gotham Group are producing the pic.

The body of Alonzo Brooks, a man whose case was featured in an episode of Netflix’s “Unsolved Mysteries” reboot earlier this month, was exhumed Tuesday.

The move comes weeks after the FBI reopened the 16-year-old case about the 23-year-old Black man who went missing in 2004 after attending a party in the majority-white town of La Cygne, Kansas. His body wasn’t located in initial searches by state officials but was instead found weeks later, during a search held by friends and family, by the edge of a creek not far from where the party had taken place.

The Brooks family said they have received new tips with information about the case since the episode of the mystery series aired earlier this month. The FBI is currently offering a $100,000 reward for information resulting in an arrest.

“Unsolved Mysteries” co-creator Terry Meurer has spent decades devoted to shining the spotlight on cold cases that have left the families of victims without answers for so long. Now that the classic docuseries has returned to television via Netflix’s new reboot, Meurer is more hopeful than ever that new witnesses will come forward with information that may solve some of these baffling crimes.

Buzzfeed Unsolved: Supernatural sees hosts Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej dissect paranormal legend of haunted location and do some investigating of their own as they travel to the locations and try to find ghouls on their own. Although there is usually a good balance of comedy and horror in the show, there are some episodes where the scale is tipped more towards horror.

Although the scarier episodes always have comedy to ease the tension some stories are so terrifying it's difficult to get them out of your head after viewing the episode. Television exec Kate Fenske has been named chief creative executive of Sister, the independent production and development company founded by Elisabeth Murdoch, Stacey Snider and Jane Featherstone.

Fenske, who was previously president of production for Entertainment 360, will be boarding Sister in the coming months. She will be based in Los Angeles and report to Snider, the global CEO and head of Sister L.A. Together, they will work on developing stories and opportunities with talent and distributors Stateside.

Launched just last October, Sister is headquartered in the U.K., with offices in London and L.A.; Murdoch serves as executive chairman and Featherstone as head of Sister London.

CBS’ courtroom drama “All Rise” has had a change of showrunners.

“David Makes Man” showrunner Dee Harris-Lawrence will replace Sunil Nayar as co-showrunner on “All Rise” alongside creator Greg Spottiswood, a person close to production told TheWrap.

It’s not clear why Nayar left, but the person confirmed that he asked Warner Bros TV., which produces the series, to leave, and they released him. Nayar’s previous credits include “Revenge,” “CSI: Miami,” “Body of Proof,” “Oz” and CBS’ “The Red Line.”

CBS gave “All Rise” a full-season order in October along with “Carol’s Second Act,” “The Unicorn” and “Bob Hearts Abishola.”

Harris-Lawrence first time showrunning was with the first season of Own’s “David Makes Man.” She also executive produced for the Warner Horizon Scripted Television-produced drama, created by Tarell Alvin McCraney. Her other credits include CBS drama “Zoo,” NBC’s “Chicago P.D.,” ABC’s “Zero Hour,” and TNT’s “Saving Grace.

Oh, there will be Reprisal against some very bad men, and Abigail Spencer is gunning to deliver it via Hulu’s palpably pulpy hyper-noir revenge drama.

Exclusive: Malcolm Barrett, Patrice Covington (The Color Purple), Kimberly Hébert Gregory (Vice Principals), Rebecca Naomi Jones (The Big Sick) and Sanai Victoria (Black-ish) are set to co-star opposite Cynthia Erivo in Genius: Aretha, the next installment of Nat Geo’s popular anthology series, from Imagine Television and Fox 21 TV Studios. Additionally, Anthony Hemingway has been tapped to executive produce and direct the pilot episode.

Billed as the first-ever, definitive and only authorized scripted limited series on the life of Franklin, Genius: Aretha will begin production in December for a spring 2020 premiere on National Geographic channels in 172 countries and 43 languages.

Barrett will play Ted White, Aretha’s (Erivo) first husband and business manager, who develops relationships with songwriters and producers and picks some of her biggest hits. But as Aretha gains fame, White’s heavy drinking and volatile behavior ends their marriage.

Doris Quinn may be “dead,” but she’s still got a lotta life in her, as seen in TVLine’s exclusive first look at the teaser trailer for Hulu’s Reprisal.

Created by executive producer and showrunner Josh Corbin (StartUp), Reprisal is a hyper-noir story that follows a femme fatale (Timeless‘ Abigail Spencer) who, after being left for dead, relentlessly sets out to seek revenge against her brother and his bombastic gang of gearheads. The thriller promises to examine “the intricacies of family – both the one you’re born with, and the one you make along the way.”

HBO’s pilot based on the 1980s Showtime Lakers is rounding out its main cast.

Molly Gordon, Rob Morgan, Spencer Garrett, Kirk Bovill, and Delante Desouza have all been cast in the one-hour drama pilot. They join previously announced cast members Jason Clarke (Jerry West), John C. Reilly (Jerry Buss), Quincy Isaiah (Earvin “Magic” Johnson), Solomon Hughes (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar), DeVaughn Nixon (Norm Nixon), and Joey Brooks (Lon Rosen).

Gordon will play Linda Zafrani. Zafrani’s intelligence and savvy have earned her a position in the Forum Office, but the arrival of new ownership — Jerry Buss and his ambitious daughter Jeanie –requires her to navigate a complicated web of personal and professional relationships.

Gordon previously appeared in the critically-acclaimed film “Booksmart” as well as the hit R-rated comedy “Good Boys.” Her past TV credits include “Animal Kingdom,” “Ramy,” “Orange Is the New Black,” and “Our Cartoon President.”

The “Halo” series at Showtime is rounding out its main cast.

The premium cabler announced Friday that Natascha McElhone, Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Bentley Kalu, Natasha Culzac, and Kate Kennedy have all joined the series adaptation of the megahit video game. They join previously announced series lead Pablo Schreiber, who will play the Master Chief, and Yerin Ha, who is playing a new character named Kwan Ha.

McElhone will star as two characters: Dr. Catherine Halsey, the creator of the Spartan supersoldiers, and Cortana, the most advanced AI in human history, and potentially the key to the survival of the human race.

In addition her role in the Showtime series “Californication,” McElhone has appeared on shows such as “The First” and “Designated Survivor” in addition to films like “The Truman Show,” “Ronin,” “Solaris,” and “City of Ghosts.”
