“At 18, we deflate our chests” is not a line from Lindsay Lohan’s Mean Girls high school world, but it might as well be used once the actress hit the racetrack in Herbie: Fully Loaded, a coming-of-age sports flick by Disney.
Featuring a teenage Lohan at the absolute summit of her career, the studio — prone to inciting controversies — loaded up this 2005 spin, only to find its leading lady’s curves too much for a kids’ ride. It all happened in 2005 when test screenings of Herbie: Fully Loaded with parent groups flagged the teenage actress as too loaded in the front for a family flick.
Big measures were taken to surmount Lohan’s chest, though the poster, featuring Lohan front, center, and bustier than ever, stirred more fuss. Disney felt obliged to pull her from ads, rolling out new ones featuring Herbie alone...

Despite having dominated the genre for over 20 years, I'm shocked Jason Statham hasn't fronted a particular kind of action film. I've been a fan of Jason Statham action films right from the beginning, even as he was finding his feet with efforts like 2001's Ghosts of Mars. Since then, he has refined his screen persona and understands the roles he works best in; this would explain how Statham's The Beekeeper became his biggest solo film to date, despite having already been a star for 20 years.
I like that Statham himself is a student of the genre, citing actors like Bruce Lee and Clint Eastwood as his idols. Statham has worked with many other icons, including Bruce Willis in The Expendables movie franchise. I think it's near impossible to be a fan of action movies and not love Die Hard, which changed the genre forever. The film soon received a slew of imitators,...

There has been a dynamic shift in the world of blockbuster films over the years, with movies pushing boundaries of visual effects and storytelling, yet innovating and outdoing each other. Independence Day was released in 1996 and it quickly became a landmark film in the science fiction genre, especially for its set pieces and breathtaking special effects.
Independence Day (1996) | 20th Century Studios
It launched Will Smith’s career into superstardom and left a lasting remark on the industry. The movie has influenced many modern superhero films, and one director already foresaw this outcome.

It is challenging to create something original in an industry filled with sequels, reboots, and imitations. Yet, in 1996, Independence Day managed to accomplish the same with its groundbreaking CGI, large-scale destruction, and exhilarating narrative that reshaped the entire genre.

Welcome to Streamers on the Rise, where we find streamers who are growing their channels, content, and audiences in extraordinary ways. Each week we’ll talk with a creator about what goes into livestreaming–both on and off camera.
Cinna has been a McDonald’s staffer, a murder scene cleaner, and an aerospace engineer-in-training.
Now, she’s a full-time Twitch streamer.
She never thought streaming would be a career for her. She actually didn’t know about streaming at all until college. At the time, she was working two jobs to pay her way through her aerospace engineering program, and was playing video games as a hobby. She’d been raised by her dad, and he was “a big video game guy,” she says, which fostered a love of gaming in her. When she stumbled on Twitch, something about it caught her interest.

Selling Sunset season 6 newbie Bre Tiesi brought the drama on the latest season, but little is discussed about her personal life, including her age, outside of her relationship with Nick Cannon. The real estate agent is one of Nick Cannon’s six baby mamas, with whom he has fathered twelve children. However, when the Oppenheim Group hired the former model in Selling Sunset season 6, Bre became famous in her own right.
Selling Sunset follows the drama and livelihood of glamorous luxury real estate agents working with the Oppenheim Group, run by twin brothers Jason and Brett Oppenheim. Although one of the most prominent agents, Christine Quinn, left the brokerage at the end of season 5, new agents Nicole Young and Bre unexpectedly brought the drama. One question surrounding Bre was her age, as many of the agents look younger than they are, due to various cosmetic procedures and access to a luxurious lifestyle.

The UK owes many of its proudest creations to other countries. Our national dish is chicken tikka masala, the Romans gave us everything from plumbing to underfloor heating, and let’s not even get started on the Royal family.
So it should come as no surprise that some top UK TV shows are based on original series from around the world. Some of these are obvious, like Drag Race UK and Law & Order being imported from the US, or The Masked Singer originating in South Korea, but some UK remakes are less up front about their international origins.

Lorde offered a full breakdown of her long-awaited new single, “Solar Power,” during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music One Friday, June 11th.
The track, Lorde said, was borne during a summer on Martha’s Vineyard, when she came back from a long day of swimming and began playing around with a Yamaha Dx keyboard. She said the melody reminded her of Robby Williams’ song “Rock DJ,” and when she later took the song’s skeleton to producer Jack Antonoff, she set about capturing a distinct summer vibe.

Melvin Montalban and Natalie Bailey.
Short films, music videos and Tvc director Melvin Montalban will make his TV debut on The Unusual Suspects, Aquarius Films’ four-part heist caper commissioned by Sbs.
Natalie Bailey, whose recent credits include helming three episodes of Avenue 5, Armando Iannucci’s HBO comedy starring Hugh Laurie and Run, an HBO series starring and executive produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, will direct the other two episodes.
Scripted by Vonne Patiag (Halal Gurls), Jessica Redenbach and Roger Monk and set in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs, the plot revolves around the theft of a $10 million necklace from self-made Filipina businesswoman Roxanne Waters’ home during her twins’ birthday party,
The ensuing police investigation exposes hidden rivalries, shady business deals and forbidden affairs. No one is safe from suspicion, including socialite Sara Beasley whose life is crumbling fast, and her long-suffering nanny, Evie De La Rosa, a godmother of sorts for other Filipino domestic workers.

Celebrity fans and friends paid tribute Friday to Peter Fonda, the son of Henry Fonda and younger brother of Jane Fonda, who died in his home at age 79 on August 16. He is best known for playing the role of Wyatt in 1969’s “Easy Rider,” and he also starred in films like “Ulee’s Gold” and “The Hired Hand.” Friends, family and peers posted their tributes to the late countercultural icon.
“It is with deep sorrow that we share the news that Peter Fonda has passed away,” The Fonda family issued an exclusive statement to People magazine. “He passed away peacefully on Friday morning, August 16 at 11:05am at his home in Los Angeles surrounded by family. The official cause of death was respiratory failure due to lung cancer. In one of the saddest moments of our lives, we are not able to find the appropriate words to express the pain in our hearts.

Peter Fonda, who died Friday at age 79, was a member of a Hollywood royal family that included father Henry Fonda, sister Jane Fonda and his daughter Bridget Fonda. He also might have, along with Dennis Hopper, launched an entire Hollywood industry with their 1969 film Easy Rider, considered by many to mark the birth of modern indie cinema. The film, which made Fonda a counterculture hero, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
A two-time Oscar nominee — for the Easy Rider screenplay he co-wrote with Hopper and Terry Southern, and for his leading role in Ulee’s Gold almost 30 years later — Fonda was remembered today by the industry in which he spent his entire life.

Gary Newman will exit his role at Fox Television Group as longtime AMC exec Charlie Collier prepares to take over as head of entertainment for Fox Broadcasting.
Collier has been named CEO of entertainment for Fox, Fox chief executive Lachlan Murdoch announced Friday in a company-wide memo. The surprise move puts an abrupt cap on Newman’s decades-long career at Fox, where he worked with counterpart Dana Walden to turn 20th Century Fox Television into arguably the most successful studio in television and more recently ran the network with Walden. It also moves Collier, who will report to Murdoch, from AMC Networks, where he helped build AMC into an original programming power on the backs of series such as “Mad Men,” “Breaking Bad,” and “The Walking Dead.”

New songs by hitmaker Billy Currington, singer-songwriter Jamie Kent, icon Rosanne Cash and more make up this week’s list of must-hear tracks.
Billy Currington, “Bring It On Over”
Currington goes full-on pop with his newest single, which repositions the singer as a bedroom-bound beau who can’t wait to “dive on in it” with his lover. An insistent, dance-club beat runs beneath the whole song, pushing Currington into some of his most modern territory to date. Completing a four scripted-format strategic sales deal with Televisa, producer-distributor Keshet. Intl. has licensed reversioning rights to the Mexican media giant on “Mythological Ex” and the “The A Word.” Both these Spanish-language adaptations will be broadcast in Mexico.

Parquet Courts’ lead singer Andrew Savage, one-half of the Brooklyn-by-way-of-Texas band’s two-headed leadership, is mad as hell. While on the opposite side of the stage, bandmate Austin Brown is getting wistful. That yin-and-yang of punk and funk – as Savage notes in the opening track to “Wide Awake!,” “Total Football:” “Collectivism and autonomy are not mutually exclusive” – lends itself to the very human dilemma at the heart of Parquet Courts’ fifth album, “Wide Awake!”
Often cited as part of the continuum of downtown New York art-guitar bands — from the Velvet Underground through Television to the Strokes — Parquet Courts are the perfect example of rock miniaturization, refining what they do to a hard diamond for those in-the-know. By enlisting pop wunderkind Brian “Danger Mouse” Burton as their first-ever outside producer, Parquet Courts has opened up its musical palette even more than most recent effort, 2016’s ballad-laden “Human Performance.”

Debuting tonight on AMC, the tech-themed Loaded is far from merely a British version of HBO’s Silicon Valley and, in fact, a lot smarter and more fun that it might seem. Adding to the combination of four friends who become instant multi-millionaires from the sale of their app, Mary McCormack delivers a blistering, brassy performance as the American corporate VP who arrives to show there is a new sheriff in old London town. Having already aired this year on Channel 4 in…...

“Loaded,” the new AMC series about the wacky adventures of overnight British millionaires, is one of the rare comedies that’s better when no one’s laughing. Ostensibly a show about what happens when a group of four men luck into unfathomable riches, one of its frequent missteps is its runtime. Unlike the vast majority of comedies on American airwaves, “Loaded” runs in hourlong increments. Overstaffed, undercooked, and in constant search of a central focus, the series is one of the better arguments for keeping comedies as concise as possible.

AMC has just released a trailer for its new comedy series Loaded. The show looks to be pretty funny and in a very similar vein as HBO's Silicon Valley. The show is based on a popular Israeli series and is about friendship and how money can put them to the test.
The cast includes Jim Howick, Samuel Anderson, Jonny Sweet and Nick Helm. They play a group of tech entrepreneurs and childhood friends that have recently made a fortune after selling their gaming company. They become instant millionaires and are forced to deal with the struggles that come along with becoming rich overnight.
Even though the series seems to be very similar to Silicon Valley, I would imagine that there will be plenty that helps it stand on its own two feet. What do you think?
Loaded is AMC just slated to premiere at 10 Pm Monday, July 17, following Preacher.

When the Velvet Underground were recording their fourth album, Loaded, their lineup was not fully intact. Moe Tucker was pregnant at the time, so a number of other drummers sat in. She nevertheless came into the studio to record vocals on a song that would ultimately become an album outtake, Lou Reed's cutesy, childlike "I'm Sticking With You." Although most fans are familiar with a version in which Tucker duetted with Reed to sparse, mostly piano-led instrumentation, the upcoming box-set edition of the album contains a showtune-esque alternate take on the song.
